I was wondering why do Apple bother sending her a iPhone X to unbox or review? You might as well ask the cat.

You have other good youtubers like unbox therapy and others who don’t get a review version yet ijustine somehow manages to get one when she’s irrelevant when it comes to talking tech or reviewing it.
HA!
iJustine is a hell of a lot easier on the eyes than Unbox Therapy.

You have to remember a lot of his audience is from India. Which is mainly where these budget android phones thrive because I’d be honest he needs to unbox other stuff. But I don’t think he’s a fanboy of anything. Last year he was being called a Apple fanboy because he brought out a vid saying don’t buy the Note 8. He was critical also of Apple releasing the iPhone 8 last year, which for many seemed a pointless release.

MKHD along with ijustine is the biggest suck up going. His interview with Elon Musk proves that.

But at the end of the day you want people who are going to be critical and not biased reviewing this stuff otherwise you may as well call it advertising.

I don’t get the “suck up” comments. MKHD seems as objective as you can be when you’re talking about things like phones which tend to have a lot of subjective qualities about them.

Seems to me that many people equate non-haters with suck ups.

I saw the Elon interview - it was good. Not sure what more people would expect from MKHD really.

Well I mean... I'm 42... so maybe I shouldn't be making any comments, I dunno.

I just find her brand of "tech video" to be a bit vapid and empty. It's the kind of thing my children enjoy watching.

It's probably not aimed at my demographic.

Her stuff is light but I wouldn't consider it vapid and empty or for kids. Look again and take it for what it is, because there's a lot of "serious" "tech videos" that that talk about how they feel about the marketing brochure without saying anything substantial about the technology in front of them. She's naturally funny and sometimes her videos are more informative than anything out there...

Her photo review was actually on point. All sorts of different scenarios that really show off how good the XS is, especially in low light. Definitely recommend a watch (and I'm usually pretty critical about those types of reviews). The low light video was super impressive.

Thats what I'm talking about, she's got jokes and she ends up being more informative than the "serious" portly fellows from CNET and The Verge.

What you mean tried to ruin iPhone 6? Bend gate was thing just like scuf gate before it. A phone shouldn’t bend when it’s in your pocket and he rightly took them to task for that. That’s not ruining Apple.

The next year iPhone 6s was harder to bend and the phones following that have been harder to bend. So you could say he did everyone a favour by exposing it because his criticism led Apple to improving the durability of their phone which is always a good thing.

I had my iPhone 6 Plus in my pocket every day, whilst sitting on a train, walking the dog and I never expierience the slightest bend, I even tried to bend my friends iPhone 6 which was faulty with my bare hands and applied a bit of pressure but it still never bent, so NO bendgate was not a thing, he applied so much pressure to the iPhone 6 when he bent it, you could see he was trying to break it.

Kudos! And what Justine did with Xs AR demo—way more fun than Time Machines demo at X keynote!

Really—who doesn’t want to bounce a ball with lightning strikes?

I've been aware of iJustine since around 2009, i'll be honest i'm not her biggest fan or watch her videos all that often... Sometimes i find her a bit much and OVER excited/enthusiastic. But the fact that she's been on YT for so long she must be doing something right and she appeals to people. Maybe people don't want a techie review with specs and speed, perhaps that's who she appeals to?

I just checked put the camera review video, i have to say i really enjoyed it. It was fun, amusing, well edited. She did well IMO.

Personally, I enjoy Justine's videos. I don't go to her for a fair review or any kind of serious analysis, but when I want to watch someone happily enjoying Apple products, she's high on the list.

Same with EverythingApplePro, although that's more an info channel than anything else.
Someone said why doesn't everythingapplepro get invites or review unit, it's because he's a leaker, he's gone into making videos of more or less the upcoming products, and ordering clones, stupid, apple doesn't like that, he will never get a review unit, he kinda wreaks it for me, he's all year saying how good the new iPhone is going to be and then when it comes out he's like don't bother.

I don’t think having the iPhone since first release should be some barometer. I’m sure there’s thousands on here who can say they bought every iPhone.

The issue I have is she offers nothing constructive and is the ultimate arse kisser. Reviews should always be subjective. Her reviews are just marketing, which doesn’t sit right with me.
Then watch someone who fits that bill and don’t watch reviewers that have fun, positive reviews. Simple solution, really. That’s the great thing about the Internet, you can exercise your choice to enjoy the content you want.

Most YouTuber's have annoying factors, I like iJustine generally speaking but she is the epitome of that annoying American giddy personality. That said, I'd just like to clarify I love the US and Americans, we can all be annoying but she can sometimes be just way too hyper and in your face.

I don't mind her reviews, OK so she's not banging on about the geek specs of the devices too much but I enjoyed her review of the camera, I don't need her delving into every little nuance of it.

I tend to stick to watching:

iJustine
MKBHD
SuperSaf
Flossy Carter
EverythingApplePro

They can all be annoying in their own ways, but, can't we all!

Let’s face it, iJustine is beautiful, Add that into a free iPhone for her to review because of her strong following, people naturally going to flock to her channel. As someone else said, it’s free marketing for Apple either way you look at this through a *massive* audience with YouTube.

I think Zollotech is one of the best and most objective Apple (and other tech - he uses Android and Surface Pro if I'm not mistaken) reviewers. Does thorough reviews of OS and beta versions as well and was really hard on Apple because of the MacBook Pro overheating issue. Not as pretty as iJustine but he has a different audience. That said I like her as well she has a particular audience and also covers other issues.

Good lord the salt.

Whether you like her or not, you can't argue with our outreach on social media. Apple send out multiple devices to various reviewers, why not one of their most vocal (and visible) supporters?

Also we're past the point where the vast majority of iPhone users care about a techy review.

She loves apple, she's excited about such stuff, yet we see so much negativity towards her, I don't get it.

first few times she really looks excited for new gadgets especially anything Apple, but after a few video's you see she's Soooo excited, and can't wait, and don't forget the "Omygod's"
for everything she does, and most think it's nice, because breasts.
but if she would tone down the "less then genuine" excitement, it would be much better to watch :)

ut if she would tone down the "less then genuine" excitement, it would be much better to watch :)
Well her style has garnered a huge following and changing her recipe, would impact that. So she would gain a few new members from MacRumors, but she would lose some of her dedicated followers.

Her style may not be for everyone, but it seems the hate/attacking goes beyond her presentation style.

for me, If I don't like a video, or a vlogger, I just move on another channel instead of attacking her on a tech forum ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

iJustine is for light-hearted fun for me; I'm gay, but still think she's a hot babe to watch - and she brings tech down closer to a level of the more average consumer, when you see her reactions to unboxing and real-life use of tech. I was very impressed with her XS camera tests video, and just hit her Subscribe button last night, in fact.

My opinion:

Objective reviewers:

- Mr Mobile (Michael Fisher)
- Quinn Nelson (SnazzyLabs)
- Flossy Carter
- TechnoBuffalo

Neutral (reviews are not that opinionated) and gets down to technicalities:

- Detroitborg

Slightly pro-apple and doesn’t call out Apple for glaring mistakes:

- MKBHD
- iJustine

Just plain pro-Apple:

- The Verge
- iMore (Rene Ritchie)

I don’t watch Johnathan Morrison or others enough to know their attitude towards Apple.
