I have one straight corner in the FaceTime window (upper left). I don't have "corner issues" in any of my finder windows or any of my other apps, including those with dark display like FaceTime. Here is a finder window for your inspection, your eyes are probably better than mine.
I never was talking about corner glitching. I was talking about the white line. I was responding to someone else's post about corner glitching, which is a UI compositing issue I couldn't care less about.
Fair enough. You mentioned that you do not have any corner issues in any of your finder windows. And that post was a follow-up to your earlier post regarding switching resolutions. For those new to this thread, and reading quickly through, I wanted to point out that switching resolutions from Default does not fix the corner issue. It also, very likely, does not fix the cause of the white lines issue but merely masks it or hides it. So, wanted to point that out and clarify, regardless of what you care about.

Which goes to my earlier point. Why has Apple asked us for screen shots, videos and logs, etc when all they have to do is test out their own product. SINCE EVERY 5700XT DOES IT!
I guess we are all lying then?

I don’t think anyone is lying. It’s simply a case of having not seen it yet or having not encountered it yet.

All the 5700 XT machines do exhibit these issues. There are no exceptions. This is confirmed by engineering. If there were machines that didn’t have these issues it would mean there’s bad HW batches. Not the case.

To make sure it’s the same problem? That’d be my guess.

Troubleshooting is hard. Remotely identifying and fixing bugs is harder.

For what it's worth, I received my second iMac 2020 (i7, 5700XT) today, which was assembled just last week. Line glitch and corner glitch still a thing.
Oh dear; thanks for reporting here. I will wait off purchasing until Apple does its repair.

So sad, Apple. People are literally holding off buying these machines now because of the issues. Time to allocate more resources to getting the 5700 XT machines straight!

Sorry Apple I don't mean to SNITCH,
But the 5700XT has a white line GLITCH.

All us Apple loyals are PRAYING,
So don't be DELAYING,
Give us a software patch and we'll start HOORAYING.

This thread is 38 pages DEEP,
My boy KKH is losing SLEEP.

Just saw the white line of doom while TYPING,
But I didn't ask for any STRIPING.

Apple.
Just read this again. Send me the rap and I'll put a beat to it.

Well, so, this is interesting! You have had zero white lines and absolutely no sharp corners? Do you have an external display plugged in?

And your card is identical to this:

VRAM (Total): 16 GB
Device ID: 0x7319
Revision ID: 0x0040
ROM Revision: 113-D1820Q-231
VBIOS Version: 113-D182A2XT-012
Option ROM Version: 113-D182A2XT-012
EFI Driver Version: 01.01.231

I have sharp corners with Slack and Messenger (but not other Catalyst apps for some reason).

The non affected users may also have been using the non standard scaling options, I think that only while using the default scaling setting is the glitch noticeable...

You have the sharp corners. You will also have the white lines, but you just haven't seen it yet. Trust me.

You said it's been confirmed by engineering. Whose engineers? I'm not aware of Apple actually stating this is an issue with every 5700XT iMac (even though in this thread we know it is).

And while we are on the topic of fixing the glitch...... I would think that Apple has a 200 person dedicated team of the best and brightest software engineers in the world working on this graphics glitch (and other issues). Or do you think it's more like 5 guys and a bag of soggy chips?

Do you mean potato chips or silicon chips…?

Just think how ‘boring’ this thread would be if Apple were to be a little transparent and announce that we can all relax, it’s just a SW glitch that they are fixing and are about to release a patch.

Thanks, Apple for the stress! *sarcasm*

😉

I have a 5700XT iMac arriving next week. Thought I'd buy one just so I can complain.

Just got my i7 5700XT. Set-up went well but after 40 minutes I noticed the first glitch in dark areas. I got problem with sharp corners as well. I think this is common for all 5700XT. Don't think there is exception.

You’re right. All 5700 XT machines have these issues. Welcome to the family. Please report to Apple.

I'm on my second 2020 iMac 27 inch 5700XT. First one had the screen line glitch and was also shutting off without warning. This video is the replacement Apple sent me and out the box even before migrating my information I captured the glitching on video. Called AppleCare again and they wanted me to do a third exchange. Not sure if I should go through the hassle or just do a full refund. The lines appear very randomly and sometimes not at all for several hours while I am editing. Also, fan is always on even in idle or doing small tasks. Is this normal? my room is very quiet so I hear it. Not loud, but I hear the air coming out the vents.
