When I see the while lines it always seems to be the same distance up from the bottom of the screen, it just happens on either the left or right side of the screen. I haven't seen the line appear higher or lower when it does appear.
I’ve had it happen at different levels on my screen. I’ll be using it a fair amount today. Shall see if there appears to be any pattern to it or not. Probably wishful thinking on my part.

It happened higher up on the screen right after my post you quoted.

I am on week three with no signs of these whites lines as of yet. Using with default settings, external monitor for about a week and disconnected the other two. Switched to dark mode to make it obvious if it happened and it hasn't.

And no auralux, I'm not too stupid to see it, tolerant of defects, or giving Apple a pass. I simply have a copy that as of yet does not have any flashing lines. While you are the self appointed authority on this issue, I might suggest that that you state "most" rather than "all" systems are experiencing this anomaly. After all, you really don't know.

However, I am beginning to think Windows might be a better route. Apple computers are getting too far from what I used to rely on.

Don't put words in my mouth like, "stupid". No, I won't lie to make you feel better and say "most", when the fact is it is "all". There are no exceptions with the 5700 XT. I am not stating this based on my 'opinion' or even from my own experience with two machines. I am stating this based on information that has been provided to me internally from Apple. It didn't come from a call center employee either. Have a nice day and enjoy the machine you aren't seeing the glitches on.

At least they fixed the "all in one" tagline to be more accurate.

AuraLux, you have a contact within Apple that has confirmed that the White Line of Doom is happening on ALL 5700XT iMacs? I too think it's probably happening on all, but i don't have an internal source at Apple.

Now that Apple marketing has updated the iMac page, I feel so much better about my purchase. The sharp corners add some edge to an otherwise dull product and the white lines remind me of the organic and unpredictable nature of the world I live in. And how watching White Lines on Netflix was kind of a waste. Next, if smoke erupts from the back of the machine, that will just nicely match the fires we have over here in California.

The issue isn't only occurring on the iMac either. There are issues with the 5700 on the 7,1 MP as well.

Glitch still happens with the beta supplemental update that appeared yesterday on the ADC site (19G2531).

What this has shown me is that none of the prominent Youtubers care about the actual products they promote. Either that or they are terrified of biting the hand that feeds them. People like Yuryev, Brownlee, Ritchie, and others hype new products to promote themselves and their channels, but never seem to circle back about problems out of fear of upsetting the almighty Apple.

I couldn’t agree more. It’s all political BS.

You assume too much. I would never accuse any of them with possessing in-depth product knowledge — or caring that they don't have it.

Does it generate more views? If yes, must be a good thing? If not, who cares?
