Question. If I ordered standard delivery, would Apple use FedEx to ship in Canada, or Canada Post?

Oh by the way, ordered on the 13th, it is now the 16th. No new information as to if it shipped earlier or not. I guess it may ship on the 20th-22nd when it says on the Apple website...

If it is coming in from Shanghai, it is for sure with Fedex.

I ordered a 24", 2.4 GHz, 1GB RAM, 750GB HD, wireless mouse, wired keyboard last Friday evening (Aug. 10) for delivery to New York State (Buffalo). Standard delivery. Estimated ship time was 3-5 Business days (current estimates have increased to 5-7 days). It arrived this morning (Thursday, Aug. 16) which is 4 business days from ordering to delivery. Printer came yesterday, iPod is coming today (it's on the truck for delivery). Here are the details:

Aug 16, 2007
9:09 AM Delivered WILLIAMSVILLE, NY
7:50 AM On FedEx vehicle for delivery CHEEKTOWAGA, NY
7:25 AM At local FedEx facility CHEEKTOWAGA, NY
6:33 AM At dest sort facility CHEEKTOWAGA, NY
5:07 AM Departed FedEx location INDIANAPOLIS, IN
1:26 AM Int'l shipment release INDIANAPOLIS, IN
12:22 AM Arrived at FedEx location INDIANAPOLIS, IN

Aug 15, 2007
3:26 PM Departed FedEx location ANCHORAGE, AK
12:11 PM Arrived at FedEx location ANCHORAGE, AK
3:06 AM In transit SHANGHAI CN

Aug 14, 2007
4:25 PM Left origin SHANGHAI CN
3:35 PM Picked up SHANGHAI CN Package received after FedEx cutoff
8:05 AM Package data transmitted to FedEx

Some comments: The delivery to Europe uses a different carrier, TNT, so can't make good comparisons between European deliveries and North American FedEx deliveries.
Shipment seemed to be "in transit" out of Shanghai forever. Longer than the itinerary above indicates, since it is in local time, and China is 12 hours ahead of us.
Based on my experience, and a couple other posts, once the package gets to Anchorage, it can be delivered that morning to US destinations. One extra day for Canada.
The Fedex estimated delivery for both the computer and iPod was always tomorrow, but both came today.

That's honestly bs. I order before you, our packages go out the same day, yet mine gets stuck in Shanghai for an extra day while yours goes on the plane. I hate major US corporations. They completely **** over Canadians. Don't get me wrong major Canadian corps do the same.

I'm in Canada and mine shipped Purolator.

Fedex delivered my 24" iMac one day early :) Once my package was in Anchorage, it got to me in Los Angeles the next day despite a detour to Indianapolis.

Even with the signature waiver form taped to my front door my driver still left the package with a neighbor because I wasn't home to sign for it.

Opened it up and it looks good. No dead or stuck pixels (I always check for them). Good luck to everyone.

I got the Apple Care a day before my iMac, and I didn't pay for Express shipping for the A. Care how funny is that.

Did you order a standard or customized machine? My new imac is coming 'pre-registered', so they won't send any kind of applecare package out with my order...

My replacement was configured and prepared for shipment sooner than the Order Status suggested. It shipped this morning and while FedEx does not show an expected delivery date, Apple has it for Monday. I was hoping to have it for the weekend. But I don't think with expedited it can get here that fast. It would have to make it from China to Alaska to Memphis by 3am or whatever to end up in Denver tomorrow morning for sorting and delivery. If that happens I'd be really impressed and quite happy. But otherwise I expect it Monday.

Sound like its in the TNT hub, waiting to be sent to Ireland. The line which will confirm this is "accept scanned at EDC" which stands for European Distribution Centre. Its probably there, but the update hasn't come through yet.

Delivery by next Wednesday? Just an educated guess going by what other people are saying.

We estimate your order will be delivered to your shipping address on or before 03 Sep, 2007 - 06 Sep, 2007.

Why do we have to wait longer in Europe :'(

Got mine at about 2 p.m. today. Transferring all of my stuff over as I type this. Man, I love it, I love it, I love it!!! :)

No issues so far and believe me, this thing is A LOT faster than my Mac mini. I'm lovin' it!

I ordered a 2.4ghz 24" iMac with 4GB of RAM and 1TB HDD on the 12th.

According to Apple, it will ship by September 25th. I'm crossing my fingers for sooner, but... oh well. :(

I've already received iWork and .Mac, though. How lame.

Does anyone know if FedEx delivers on the weekend? My iMac arrived in Anchorage this afternoon and I'm wondering if I'll have it this weekend.

Got iMac Today!

I finally got my imac today. A day earlier then what FedEx said. So I was pleasantly surprised.

Shipped from China on the 14th. Arrived the 16th. Ordered on the 10th.

2.8 core 2 extreme. 500 GB hard drive. 2 gigs ram. Super Awesomeness included.

Only problem is I have something stuck behind the glass. At first I got scared and thought it was a pixel. But when I move my head the spot moves over the screen to its not a pixel. If I take it to an apple store can they pop it off and get it out. I know its only held on by magnets.

Did you get that with a wireless keyboard?

Yup.. they deliver on Saturday but not on Sunday. UPS on the other hand only delivers Monday-Friday unless you pay extra for Saturday delivery.

Yes, I did. Is that really what's taking so long?

Yeah, it is. I originally had the wireless keyboard and mouse too. I decided to just buy them separate though (our G5 needs a new wired mouse). I'll probably give the G5 a new wired keyboard too. Anyway, I already have my wireless mouse (shipped right away), but I won't get the keyboard until around the 12th of September. It sucks that a simple keyboard can cause such a huge delay.

It's more than a little ridiculous. I don't think it's the keyboard itself, though-- it's smaller than the wired ones, right? Are they suddenly having weird issues with the bluetooth technology? *sigh*

I suppose I'll just read the iWork booklet until I can actually use it next month.:(

Engadget had something about the FCC approval. Apparently it was approved the day Apple introduced it, meaning they just recently began to manufacture it. Still though, I don't see how it takes a month to get the production line moving.

Ordered: Friday Aug 10, 2007
Ship Date: Sept 17. What???!!
I called Apple and they said the hold up was the wireless KB. So I canceled my order and reordered with the wired KB and it will ship Aug 22, 2007.
Wow! That's better!!
I just placed my order, and I guess this explains my September 28 ship date. That's pretty lame, but I'd definitely rather have a wired keyboard than have to wait another month to get my new iMac. I'll be changing my configuration as soon as Support can see it in the system.

The printer is en-route from CA, I expect it on Friday 17 Aug.

Wireless Keyboard info:
The issue with the wireless keyboard delays is not hard to understand. Those of you who are knew to Mac may not be familiar with the normal routine. Steve will announce a new computer or something and then says it will ship on XXXX date about 2 months down the road. What's different here is that everything Apple announced and released that day was ready to go, except for the bluetooth keyboard. So there were basically no delays. The wireless keyboard however, for whatever the reason, just hasn't gotten up to speed in the manufacturing process. So it's not available separate, and it's not available with an iMac purchase. All I can say is be glad that Apple actually makes it pretty easy for you to learn this, and then change your order if you don't want to wait. I need a full-size keyboard for AV editing, but was wanting to get the wireless to use with my laptop. So it didn't hurt me at all. I'll just get it when they finally hit the store.

I do sympathize with you who are wanting one and can't afford to buy it separate later.
