I think i've gone crazier then you. Not only am I constantly checking my status, my e-mails, I am also watching YouTube videos of people unpacking their new Aluminum iMac Computers. LOL it's the only thing that is really subsiding these feelings of anxiety.
Hey, it's perfectly normal... I was doing the same!
Quick update after using the new iMac:
- The glossy screen does create some issues, depending on what you are looking at. In a lit room, watching dark scenes in a movie makes you see your reflection instead. Even now in the daytime, with the daylight coming through the window 3 metres behind me, I can clearly see reflections. However, whether the reflections bother you, it's really a personal issue. It only bothers me when the reflection is forcing me to change position in order to read or see something more clearly, such as when editing photos. I've had to reposition the screen (push a bit to the left or right) SEVERAL times already to avoid the reflecting glare, again depending on which part of the screen I was looking at.
- The keyboard is really low, you can't prop it any higher (no flip out tabs under keyboard). I personally don't like it, feels like I have to force my hands closer to the table and it's tiring. BTW by default the F1-F12 keys are configured with brightness, volume, etc - but you can change that in the settings to have your regular function keys.
- The bluetooth mouse is okay. The only thing is the 24" screen is so large, takes a while to move the mouse side to side

and I have it on the fastest speed.
- Speakers as usual are good for in-built speakers. They are definitely better than any cheap speakers. (I use large Sony speakers on my other machine though, which are obviously better)
- The iMac itself can actually tilt quite a lot! I can tilt it up to a point where the screen is facing me correctly while I am standing up.
- Currently with the basic 1G of RAM, no problems using the iMac. Of course I haven't started anything too intensive yet, but it's good to know that start times are fast, etc. My iMac has the 2,8Ghz cpu btw.
- The slot loading Superdrive feels a bit different than the previous iMac, seems like you really have to push the CD all the way in, it doesn't really grab it that much. First time I put a CD in, I thought the mechanism was broken, lol. I can't remember it was already like that in the previous iMac (used it last year, so been a while)
