Anyone in Canada? Whats your status? Also, what would be better to order from? Apple.ca, or bestbuy-futureshop? after hearing all of this waiting times, it might be faster to order mine from a different place. But then I can't get Iwork...

Decisions Decisions.

I am still at not yet shipped.

Well, I wonder sometimes too. How's this...

I live in Avon, Colorado. My package goes from Shanghai to Anchorage to Indiana. Then, it flies to Denver.

If you're keeping track, we've past my apartment once already.

Then, it gets TRUCKED to Eagle, Colorado which is west of Avon, Colorado.

If you're keeping track, the stupid FedEx package has passed my place TWICE now!

This just doesn't seem efficient! For quite some time, FedEx used a "hub and spoke" tactic where everything went through Memphis. Now it appears they are straying from this a little bit. I assume this is why UPS is often a day ahead of FedEx in most areas.

Mine Went from Shanghai to Korea.. Then flew to Alaska, then flew to Memphis. Then it drove to Peoria, Illinois. That is about three hours from my town. Instead of coming to my town (which would have made it arrive today) it drove THROUGH my town in order to get to Madison, WI. It sat there (roughly half an hour away) for half a day. Then it came to my town. BUT according to Simpletracking.com it actually went through my town first, and went to a small town about 20 miles south and dropped off some things, then it came back to here. So my iMac drove through town twice... BUT I still don't have it! And I won't have it till Monday before 10:30 am

I ordered my 24"/2.8GHz/1GB/750GB iMac last week (finalized order and charged 9 days ago) through powermax. Anyone had any experience with them? I like how they saved me from paying tax (~$300 in TN) and most of the shipping (through a rebate). I realize that the computer probably takes a week or two to assemble. I am growing impatient. Every time I ask them for an order number so I can see what is going on with my order they get shady and blow me off. I hope they actually placed the order and didn't just take my money and run. Anyone else have good experiences with this retailer?

All my shipping status says is that its dispatched and being delivered by walsh western UK.. I rung the company and they don't deal with Apple Computers.. got a feeling they transfer from Ireland to the Mainland.

Quite annoying though that it doesn't show where it currently is like for you guys!

Status change at last

Mine finally changed to "prepared for shipment" this morning. Let's see... Is it Monday in China yet?;) Maybe they'll ship it out "today" from China and it will arrive at my place "tomorrow". Isn't it like 3:30am Monday morning in China already. Would be nice to get it tomorrow but doubtful.:D

CTO? If you have a 10-digit delivery reference starting with 80 or 08, use http://apecode.com/ to track it (if 08, swap them around to 80.)

in about 16 hours... I'll have an iMac!!! Guess what, today I managed to get our Apple LCII (w/ System 7) connected to our cable modem. It was in shock. Then After Dark came on and it froze up.......... damn toasters

anyway.. in a messed up sort of way that made waiting for the new iMac a little easier.. back to the LCII!

Oh it hurts me to see that the delivery dates has gone up. I'm calling Apple tomorrow to get a replacement. I guess I'll have to wait another two weeks or so to get it.

It would be my luck if there's something wrong with the replacement machine as well.

note: FedEx shows it's status as "Package data transmitted". As others have mentioned FedEx has a pretty major delay in their information for tracking.

I'll post more updates as it progresses.

something else refers to "received after FedEx cutoff". looks like it won't ship out of China on their Friday.

Ordered in 4:00am on August 12th (had the urge after getting home from a long night out heh). I live in Toronto.

Ready to Ship August 15th. It stayed in Shanghai for a day because it was received after the cutoff time... Thankfully Mississauga is a hub, so it's waiting just outside of Toronto, should be on a deliver truck Monday morning, though they claim Tuesday August 21st by 10:30am as the estimated delivery :-(

I am wondering why this is!!! My package is already in my local Denver sort facility, so it should be delivered tomorrow, however, my commitment date also says Tuesday. Why does FedEx waste my time?

I planned to get a Mini and Dell 24" monitor but worked out that it was going to cost almost as much as the iMac. I know the iMac monitor is not as good quality as the Dell but the innards are so superior to the Mini.

Took me a few days to come to the decision (and to free up the funds) so I ordered on the 10th (very early in the morning -- 4AM)

2.8GHZ & Apple wireless Mighty Mouse

Shipping to New Zealand:

Ships by: 21/08/2007 - 24/08/2007
Delivers by: 28/08/2007 - 31/08/2007

Sometime today the Payment Method, Billing Address and Shipping Address got locked down and not editable online. (Someone on an Australian forum suggested this indicates that they're getting close to shipping)

Damn, I'm impatient. The ibook isn't even two years old yet, I'm so ashamed.

Where can I track this through TNT? Do I use the same delivery number?

Kind of. Round about now the shipping number should be trackable by clicking on it from the Apecode site. But if its UPS rather than TNT, your Apple Order Status Page will have a carrier tracking number on it which will be specific to your courier.

However, my delivery reached the EDC on the 16th and there's still no tracking available for it other than through Apecode.

No update for ages! I don't see the status of "accept scanned at EDC" - does this mean that it has not reached Holland yet??

How do you know that? It's actually just as good as the Dell. It depends on if you like the glass cover or not. I personally think it's better.

My iMac has finally reached the UK and is in Apple's distribution centre. They are hoping it will be picked up by UPS today for delivery tomorrow. Seems like weeks ago since I ordered it after the announcement was made about the new iMacs.

Use http://www.simpletracking.com/ to track packages!

I know some of you are already using this, but for the rest of you that are stuck using the terrible FedEx website....check out www.simpletracking.com.

Unlike the FedEx website that can often take MANY hours to update, this site is in near real time. Check it out! It's a little more detailed than the FedEx website as well.

To be honest I haven't seen either in person but I've read a lot about the Dell. The 2407WFP has had great reviews, usually 8~9/10 and the HC model now supports 92% NTSC colour gamut.

I haven't been able to find a definitive answer as to what's in the 24" iMac but it's very likely a TN panel which apparently are not as good as VA.

The 2407WFP-HC uses a Samsung S-PVA panel. As a VA panel it brings good colours, blacks, contrast, viewing angles and a decent response time so that moving images are less likely to ghost. There are two alternatives to VA -- IPS panels can provide superior colour reproduction and viewing angles but at a high cost, while the cheap TN ones offer faster response times at the sacrifice of image quality and viewing angles -- so in essence VA is a compromise between the two. -- http://www.zdnet.com.au/reviews/hardware/desktops/soa/Dell-2407WFP-HC/0,139023402,339280535,00.htm
I do know the monitor in the 24 is supposed to be better than the the 20 so I may be barking up the wrong tree. Anyway, I don't claim to be an expert and wholeheartedly expect to be blown away by it when it gets here.

It's NOT a TN panel. That is only found in the 20". It's been stated a few times here that the 24" iMac likely uses a S-PVA panel (same as the Dell 2407WFP). So, that would make them nearly equally as good as each other.

Well, I'm in London. The presentation started about 6.30pm for us, and I ordered one about 8.30pm that night after deliberating over glossy screen (yuk) and hard drive size, and seeing what difference larger drives made to the delivery delay. Went for the 2.4GHz 24" with no extra RAM (Crucial do it cheaper thanks, Apple), and the 750GB drive.

I've been watching my Shipment Status page every day and I have nowhere near the amount of detail you guys get. Here's what mine says today (20th of August):

Shipped to LONDON, GB 11 Aug 2007
Estimated Delivery Date 17 Aug 2007 (Subject to change)
Current Delivery Status In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule 20 Aug 2007
Signed By

Up until today it said estimated delivery date 23rd - 24th, and now it says it was 3 days ago.

So, where is it, who has it, what's the tracking number??? The number displayed on the page (80xxxxxxxx) means nothing if I don't know who has it...

:(

Yeah, I'm in the same boat mate! I'm nin London and ordered mine a few days ago and you get bugger all information, don't you? I'm just forgetting all about it for a while now.
