iMac shipping status?

If you read back through the thread, there have been a few that shipped early, but lately they seem to be on schedule. The last several posts indicated that their orders didn't change to "prepared for shipment" until the day before they were scheduled to ship and then shipped the next day.

So, my iMac 24" has arrived, at 10am this morning, which is exactly around the time they said it would arrive.
So, disappointed it wasn't "early", but it's a gorgeous machine, I was up & running in literally 10 minutes, restoring all my settings etc.

i rang up apple today just to find out about some order details, while there i asked about the longer shipping times. The guy said to me that becuase i made a cutom order (wireless mouse only) that the whole imac machine was going to have to be built, and that they dont just add a wireless mouse to a imac which has already been prebuilt. Strange, i dident know that.
There appears to be a shipment including 24" 2.8Ghz just hitting Australia ... the first lot I imagine. I've already downloaded ResX to check the panel and will replort in the other thread.

Ordered my BTO 24" iMac on the 15th and the status just changed to "Shipped". Hopefully it will be here soon!
Just checked the status of my 2.8 iMac-"not yet shipped" still-this is the fifth day since ordering it. If they get some of the 2.4 ghz in at the local Apple store today I will be sorely tempted to cancel....just would hate to do that since I'm into it this far. And I don't want to be kicking myself for going with the lower model later, but the idea of having it in matter of hours today is sooooo tempting.
They seem to be moving from the "not yet shipped" phase to the "prepared to ship" phase in about five days on the average-will see what the status is when I get in from my morning appointments and give the store a call-what to do!

on the apple store imac page..it says 5-7days..i ordered on the 19th and its not shipping till the 27th-29th? that more then 5-7days...wtf

I ordered mine on 8/18 and it said 5-7 days at the time I placed my order-mine ships by 8/27-29...a good 9 days from the date I ordered it (if you go by the 27th).
Order mine on the 8th, still waiting...says its supposed to ship by the 17th to 22nd...of course they'll wait to the last minute. It better ship today, because I can't hardly stand the wait!
That's a long time..where are you located? Is it at least in the "prepared for shipment" phase?
The Apple Store support told me that they ordered my replacement iMac with highest priority. Just curious, is there really such a thing or do they just say that to calm down the customer?
They were sure quick to pick up the old one anyway
The first one took just five business days to get here from the day I ordered it. Doesn't look that promising for this one. 2 days and still not prepared for shipment.

Northeastern US - I ordered it through my school bookstore, but they gave me the order number so I could check the shipping status. Still all it says is "Not yet shipped"
I ordered the 20" 2.0ghz iMac yesterday and the status has now changed to "Prepared for Shipment". How long should it take now for it to ship? This is to the UK btw if that makes any difference.
I ordered mine at 2pm (PST) on the 13th. It switched to Prepared for Shipping sometime early yesterday morning and around 1:55am today it switched to Shipped.
YMMV.

Ordered my stock 20" on the 13th, shipped on the 21st, will be here on the 24th.

Got my 24" yesterday and am very happy. No dead pixels, no funny noises, no scratches...just a beautiful machine. And glare is not an issue at all. This machine was worth the wait.
