iMac shipping status?

:mad: Mine has still not shipped! I ordered on the 8th through an excellent local Mac Reseller. I called him late yesterday, he checked and said the order is still NOT built, but the web site says shipping between 8/21 and 8/24. According to him ALL the orders with 2.8GHZ processor are held up and not being built yet. What gives, I see lots of people saying they got their 2.8GHz machines already, many of whom ordered after I did. I'm thinking resellers are being given lower priority!

Anybody else have this situation? :(

If this is true, then I may very well run down to the local Apple Store and pick-up one of the 2.4 ghz 24" instead...they just got some in today and will hold one for me until closing tonight.

My 2.8 iMac is supposed to ship Monday, the 27th at earliest (ordered on the 18th). I was going to be patient and hang in there, but if this is the case...think I'll call Apple and check this out. I'll report back.

UPDATE: Ok, just got off the phone with Apple online store CS and according to them, the iMac orders are on schedule for the estimated ship dates that are given with the orders-there aren't any issues holding them up, they're just in great demand. So, I guess I'll hold out still-although I already had them put one on hold for me at the Apple Store just to be safe. Hmmmm...well, I have the better part of the day to be absolutely sure! ;)
 
My 24" 2.8, bought using the 2.8 button on the main iMac page on Aug 14, 2007 at 02:30 PM PDT had a scheduled ship by 21st - 23rd. Delivery 23rd - 28th. This morning the status finally changed to "Prepared for Shipment".
 
The 2.8Ghz version isn't being held up, I got mine (currently happily typing this on it) quite quickly after I removed the wireless keyboard from the order.
 
How could you guys be ready to cancel when it is not even past the estimated ship date...


Some people are really impatient lol.
 
Sorry if this is repetitive, but does FedEx have dropoffs on Saturday for these iMacs? I know I got my iPod on a Saturday. Currently my shipping is 2 day shipping and should be on track for Saturday. If not I guess I'll wait till Monday.

Fedex Home Delivery does Saturday deliveries!

I love Fedex! My favorite shipping company!

If you chose the free regular delivery, they ship by way of FedEx Home delivery and that service does deliver on Saturdays; however, I don't think that 2 day service does-they may in certain areas, but you have to arrange for it and it costs extra. I'd give Fed Ex a call.

well it ships 27-29th...and its 2-5 days shipping...

so if it ships on the 27th(monday) then it should come either thurs(30th) or fri(31st)....since its 2-5 days...

.anyone think it will come thurs or fri?

My iMac got to Anchorage, AK at 11.32am this morning. Anyone have any idea how long it takes to clear customs??

The FedEx pages says my delivery is slated for Monday, but I'm hoping for a Saturday delivery....but it'll probably have to go from Anchorage to Memphis and then back to the west coast (San Diego)....:eek:

Mine (24" 2.8), hit the skids on the last day of the 'official' shipping timeframe. Actually because China is behind us (time wise), it went from 'not shipped' to 'shipped' overnight, (overnight on the last expected ship date). I don't want to get your hopes up, but I suspect when you wake up, it will either have shipped or be ready to go... good luck!

Well, in answer to my own question, it apparently doesn't take long to clear customs. My iMac left Anchorage at 2:11pm. I assume it's heading to Memphis. The FedEx website appears to be about 4 hours delayed because I didn't get the notification that it left Anchorage until around 6pm.

It MAY come tomorrow, but I don't know if it'll make it from Memphis to San Diego and onto the truck for delivery in one night. Time will tell....:D

They have 1.5 hours before they missed their "ships by" window.:(

although it was on the last day it could do that and still be on time. On the other hand, Apple had suddenly changed the arrival date after it shipped to indicate it would arrive 3-4 days late. I called them and politely raised a little hell and then the thing arrived on Tuesday when I was expecting it and Apple has given me a credit for the overnight shipping because they did not know it would arrive on time. Ha!:D:D:D:D

Damn, let me know if it shipped today!

If mine ships late, I am going to call Apple and ask for free expedited shipping...

I ordered this computer for college and I really wanted it before my classes start.

My 2.8 is also Edu. I placed the order on the 11th. TNT said it will be in Wellington this weekend, ready for delivery Monday Morning (it arrived in Auckland today). 17 days from China isn't too bad I guess. Shame I'm going to be out of town till Wednesday and had to have it held till Thursday. :(
