iMac shipping status?

I'm switching to Mac from PC... my first Mac... just ordered a few days ago:

IMAC 24/SD
2.8GHZ INTEL CORE 2 EXTREME
2GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 2x1GB
1TB Serial ATA Drive
SuperDrive 8X(DVD+R DL/DVD+RW)
NO MODEM
Apple Mighty Mouse
WIRED KYBRD & MAC OS X KIT
COUNTRY KIT

I'm thinking now I should have paid the $30 extra for expedited shipping! I can't stand the wait!

I ordered 2 more iMacs and have been wondering if there's an issue with shipping delays?

The first iMac (2.8 GHz (standard) but with the wireless mouse (not key board)) was ordered on the 8th showing a 3-5 day shipping slot, then the order came through it showed shipping between 17th -22th August. I'm not freaking out, but I need the new machine soon as my Powerbooks screen is dying and I have work to do.

Anyway, I emailed a Texas Apple guy whose been great in the past... hopefully will hear something soon, if so I'll post. I just wish they'd said a 9 to 12 days (and counting) up front.... would make planning a little easier.

Okay, just heard...

"Hey Pete. You ordered that the day after we announced the new iMacs (i think) and I've seen a lot of my customers have delivery dates in the 2-3 week range. I'm sorry for the delay, but unfortunately, it's probably in keeping with what I'm seeing elsewhere. I've cc'd your sales rep, Megan XXXX, though to see if she has any additional thoughts on the matter. "

I still wish they had just changed the web to show the delay....

Call customer service, tell them your school will be starting the first week of Sept and is there any way you can add the expedited shipping? They can add it on, and if you're nice to them, they may do it for free (they did mine and I didn't give them any kind of story at all!) :D

They're now telling me the 28th of August (original order 8th, ship 3-5 days)... this is getting very annoying.:(:mad::(

I had the exact same situation, ordered 2.8 GHz w/ wireless mouse on the 8th, shipping btwn 17-22 Aug, and my order was just moved to "Prepared for Shipment" just an hour before midnight!

I ordered mine the same day, and got the same Aug 22-24 quote. But mine shipped today and is probably in Anchorage by now. I also live in the Southeast. Mine is a BTO 24" version. I wonder why yours hasn't shipped. What did you order?

This is my exchanged iMac, so the last time my 20" came from China to Orlando, FL in 4 days with regular shipping, which was 2 days earlier than what I was promised. Shipped on a Friday and I had it Monday morning.

I have been checking my order status several times a day for any change, but no luck. This has been the longest wait ever! My 2+2GB RAM should be here Monday from OWC. My first :apple: and to say I'm excited would be a little of an understatement. :eek:

I ordered a BTO 24" with a BT Mighty Mouse...

Almost wishing I would have just bought it at the Apple store with a wired mouse... I really want a wireless mouse though...

I ordered mine pretty late on the 15th... (9:02 PM)

So hopefully mine will ship tomorrow! Keep your fingers crossed!
 
I ordered a new 20" stock. I am not too happy with the delivery time but my local University if saying it's at least two weeks before they have them in stock, so I decided to get in line.

I noticed some of you had upgraded shipping for free. How do I go about getting that?

I've got the exact same dates as you mate, except i got the 2.4 not the 2.8. Mine's headed to Melbourne, I'm guessing ours will be on the same ship :)

Love it! Runs really smoothly and looks amazing. Was shocked at how big it really was but now am used to it. Came into work today to my usual 19" Dell monitor and thought it looked tiny :D
 
I ordered a 20" 2.0Ghz Stock iMac Tuesday and its now been dispatched. I can't track it properly yet though as under Carrier it says "In transit to final destination - carrier details to be updated shortly".

The estimated delivery date is 3rd September but I'm hoping it comes sooner than that.
 
Got mine yesterday after ordering on the 9th (i think) it's the 2.8GHz option. Am loving it so much! Although, i have made it crash once...haha...oops. Was syncing my iPod and tried playing a video in iTunes, it didn't much like it and froze, which i thought it wouldn't do. Oh well.

Lovely machine though, and so quiet, i truely am amazed!!!

Thing that has also really impressed me is the speakers. They're no Bose system, but easily adequate.

Oh yeah, our original delivery date was 28th August, and we got it 22nd, so i'm dead chuffed about that too!
 
Well at the 11th hour I have just decided to change the 24" spec with an upgrade to a 500gb hard drive. Firstly customer support refused to do the upgrade as even though it hasnt been built yet, the shipping date was the 23rd today. Got on the phone to someone else and they have sent an email over to shanghai order management to try and get the order changed! Heres hoping :D
 
1st post here! Tot I share my experience.

I'm so ashamed to say that I have in total cancelled 3 times (1 time by apple personnel when I called them) to change my orders. I'll probaby need to call them tomorrow for another change.

Anyway, mine is about the wireless keyboard which sets u back 4-6 weeks. After being online with them today and asking them if they can shipped my imac without the wireless kb first, they said no. However, when I checked my status after the call, the new date has been changed! From originally 29 Sept delivery to 1st Sept delivery!

Does that mean that the wireless KB will be coming anytime soon???

Thanks... like one of the other posters, I was beginning to wonder if EDU orders where a second tier... given so many other deliveries ordered after ours. Anyway, I'm guessing ours are on the same shipment as mine is showing shipped this morning... tho' it missed the FedEx cut off last night, so it will stay in China another day. Still.... it's on its way :)
