I'm in the same situation as the rest of you who should have gotten theirs today but there was some delay; however, I called Apple Sales Support today and they called FedEx. They said *IF* your iMac is at your local facility on Saturday morning, you are authorized to pick it up at the counter showing two forms of ID. One needs a name, picture, and shipping address that matches the shipping address of the package. The other needs at least the name.
I'm planning on taking tracking information from other iMacs that were delivered yesterday when I go in just in case they try to give me grief. If anyone is feeling gracious and wants to post their tracking number so that we can print out official tracking information from the FedEx website, it would be greatly appreciated. I was able to change a few of my numbers in my tracking information to obtain someone else's tracking information that was delivered today.

This is the most excited I have ever been getting a new computer. I just got mine 2 days ago and thanks to Fedex it came a day earlier. I'm excited for everyone who got theirs by this weekend and to everyone else it will be worth the wait, I absolutely love this machine. My friends just came over and they were all jaw dropped by it.

my sentiments exactly.... this is just...a work of art.
I am having issues with Battlefield 2142 and installing Warcraft (bf is crashing but sorta playable and wow doesn't want to install at all) but regardless, we already were playing with all the products and holy kinickies, Im going blind by the screen and loving every second of it.
I'm a mac user (except for doing work since I'm a .net programmer) from now on. Can't wait for Leopard!

Don't mean to get your hopes up, but my iPod took the same route, went through int'l shipment release in Indianapolis early morning, and arrived at my house in Los Angeles that same morning.
My iMac is with your right now in Indy, and I'm hoping it follows the same schedule. Even though the FedEx site says Sep 5 delivery and the Apple Store email said Sep 4th, I'm still holding out hope! At the very least I want the opportunity to break into the local FedEx shipping center to rescue my computer.

ya i thought for a second well maybe it'll clear customs within the hour get here by 3 or 4 and be out for delivery by 5. If it sits at my hub here in louisville i might call apple and get there authorization to pick up the thing.
On the 29th mine missed the fedex cut off in shanghai and on the 31st got hung up in customs for about six hours in Indianapolis Made it to NH last night at 7pm I called apple to beg for saturday delivery After 5-10min on hold they called fed ex to request it I'll update here later

I called FedEx one last time to re-inter-ate that I would like it delivered today if it does finally arrive...or I would be happy to come pick-up (this time the FedEx rep said that shouldn't be a problem, but Apple and the other FedEx rep said pick-up was no go no matter what-have to make at least one delivery attempt first).
I've pretty much just resigned myself to watching football (consolation prize!) and take delivery on Tuesday. I tried!

Man I was hoping to hear some good news. Sorry to hear about you being forced to watch football.... man I know that's a drag (/sarcasmOff) haha. But seriously, hope it gets there soon.
My iPod is sitting at "Sort Facility" in Atlanta so won't get to play with it until Tuesday. I was up until 3am last night playing with this iMac... MAN I love this thing.
It could be the fact that they are on different trucks. Each truck has several different places to deliver to.
Yeah....and in hi-def on our new 48" Sony LCD...I think I'll get through the weekend somehow...LOL!

Well, here I am enjoying Labour Day weekend doing household chores instead of setting up my new 24" iMac 2.8Ghz that I ordered on August 14th.
Oh well on the upside I got more things done around here before the fall season comes along with new iPods and possibly iPhone in Canada.
I have not waited that long for any apple computer before.
Anyone out there who ordered around same time still waitin......

its really only a 3 hour drive from here up to indianapolis but its been since yesterday at 4 am that it left fedex and has never arrived here. My estimated delivery is wednesday by 10:30 and it will be no fun if they try to keep it until then
I ordered the same from a local Authorized Reseller on Aug. 8th and still haven't been given a ship date!
I reordered from Apple USA online store on Aug 28th. My order status this morning has changed to "Prepared for Shipment".
So, I'll be canceling the other order now!

After about a week of waiting (After the 9 months of waiting to be able to afford it, of course), my iMac is ready to be shipped... but because it's Sunday, it won't be shipped until tomorrow, meaning that it could potentially come on the day I go back to school... which sucks! Hopefully, it will take four days to come and arrive on the 7th (That way, I get the whole weekend with it!)
