I think its taken about the same amount of time for my imac to travel from shanghi to Alaska than it has for it to travel one state. Oh well i hope it gets here tuesday

iMac shipping status?

Our iMac too is sitting in Indianapolis... oh wait. Just got an update, left Indy about 7:30 p.m. this evening.
For those others who's iMac is at, or just left, Indy. We have a Sept. 5 delivery date also, but I read somewhere on this thread that the date was projected from the Shanghai time zone, which is 13 hours ahead. Which pretty much puts them a day ahead of us. So the theory is that the delivery dates, in a more western time zone, could very possibly be a day earlier. I am anticipating delivery on Tuesday rather than the 5th.
One can hope anyway. I've waited this long for the new iMac, another day isn't going to make that much difference.

Well, expected my iMac on Friday but estimate is still for Monday. Have to call Apple about my shipping as I had expected 2 day shipping.

Had the exact same message posted on the fedex website with the exact times...
Expected my Imac to arrive on Friday as well. When i called FedEx the lady said she would do everything she could to get FedEx in Mississauga to get the Imac shipped to Montreal on Saturday so I could go pick it up at the FedEx depot after 1pm on Saturday...
But she called me back with the bad news Saturday afternoon and told me it couldn't be done and that i would only get it Tuesday...
I was/am really pissed i didn't get my Imac before the long weekend...
Still no update since wednesday. And appletrack doesn't give me any info.
Anyone else have the same problem?

Mine left Indianapolis on Saturday, Sept 1st. My estimated arrival date is Wednesday, Sept 5th before 10:30AM. I called Fedex and they say to "definitely" expect it on Tuesday before 10:30AM, which was good to hear, but it'd be nice to see it do something! Oh well, It'll be here sooner or later....Or at least that's what I tell myself as I check the Fedex websites over and over...and over.
Yeah, I'm a little pissed too.
2 days ago I phoned Apple Australia to order an iMac 20" for family in Sydney. Status showed 2-4 days before shipping. The next day the order was prepared for shipment and the 2nd day it shipped from Shanghai! They must be clearing the backlog of orders now.

thats good to hear...mine left saturday as well and has the estimated delivery by the 5th. so hopefully it comes in the morning
Same here scheduled for delivery by the 5th, 10:30 am, but really should be tomorrow. My tracking info hasn't been updated since it left Memphis on 8/31 at 3:55 pm. I am still keeping my fingers crossed...it should definitely be delivered tomorrow rather than Weds.
I can't wait till tommorrow. I've been really excited all week and even more so tonight
I ordered a MacBook Pro and iMac at the same time. The MacBook is scheduled for delivery on the 5th and still says it's in Memphis. The iMac says it's shipped but there's no date yet (still says in China). I'm REALLY hoping the MacBook Pro comes tomorrow. I have to go out of town Tuesday -Friday so if it doesn't make it, I'll have to wait until Friday to play.

When would be the right time to call apple and complain about the long delivery? I mean, they are still within the promised limits, but it has taken over two weeks now for my replacement, and it's been almost a month since I made my original order.
I usually have a lot of patience, but I really think that one month is a long time to deliver a working computer (don't even know if it's working yet). I feel like some sort of compensation might be in place. Or am I greedy to think that?

I am on my 3rd computer and when they told me my replacement wouldn't be in for another 10-14 days, I told them I was disappointed with the process and wanted to know if apple does anything about the inconvenience and lady said "yeah, we have a little flexibility" and then offered me a free wireless kbd and mouse. If you are truly upset by the situation and you have a valid reason, which you do, just ask and I'm sure apple will do something for you.
Even though some people are telling you stories about how much apple service sucks. If you call in, act very patient and nice but explain to them that the situation is starting to bug you they will make it right.
