iMac shipping status?

I work for an Apple RTC (Regional Training Centre) in the UK and we ordered 18 2.8Ghz CTO 24" iMac's in the 2nd week of August, still no sign of them. My guy at Apple is now saying no UK 2.8Ghz iMac's will be shipping until week 4 of September.

If they can't keep up with demand tell me from the start, I wish they wouldn't ******** me with dates that never happen.

It started with a 3-5 day lead, so we cautiously made no commitments for people to use the room these macs are destined to go into for 2 weeks. It's now over 4 weeks and the bookings we made are having to be cancelled.

We train kids and adults how to use the macs and we're having to now turn people away because our other rooms are full up!

Mine just arriving this morning in Mississauga and is about to be loaded on a FedEx truck enroute to Markham, my wife will be picking it up for me at noon. Sure looks like the iMacs travelled together with other Macs on a skid, then separated after. Hopefully there are no bumps and bruises. Can't wait to unpack as my desk is sitting clean and empty. Hopefully we'll get free Leopard as we are close to release day. Funny Apple has not committed an actual date yet? Well see what Steve has up his sleeve next after iPhone intro yesterday in UK.

How do you all get that type of shipping status?

Im on the apple order status and it doesnt look like that for me.

Anyways it now says mine is "Prepared for sipment" :D

Once it ships, there will be a tracking number on the page. Click the link and you'll be able to track your package.
Mine arrived an hour early no less, but alas, I won't be able to pick it up until tomorrow. Sigh. I've waited 9 months for my iMac, I guess another day won't hurt too much.

Mine arrived, my wife is picking it up tomorrow, funny, it took all day to clear customs. I got wired mouse and wired keyboard, my reseller will trade my mouse for wireless mighty mouse, as I have a wired mouse here and I don't like the wireless keyboard as it's missing numeric keypad, and wireless imacs have extensive shipping delays as wireless keyboard was not launched at imac intro. As soon as I get it I'll post unboxing photos, get your imac sibling unpacked and post pics too as they travelled together. HA HA! That's why it's great to be in a Mac community as this doesn't happen in sadistic PC world. We mac owners are passionate and loyal to apple.

... It's the last bit where it seems to drag into infinity. Got an email from Apple saying it shipped but no update from FedEx; so it continues to read.. pick up data sent to FedEx... all day long... argh
 
My ipod that I get with the education discount came in today. My printer and imac will follow tomorrow, or Friday.

Heh, I got my printer and everything today and my iPod is coming tomorrow by 10:30am.

Now.. My iMac has the estimate delivery date of Sept. 27th (I called in, yet I didn't get the tracking number). Damn, so far every estimate delivery has been at the last bracket, will be there be any hope for my iMac?

I'll just rub it in a little more. JK, good luck, some people say that apple has a tendency to surprise people with delivering it early. And my ipod was certainly early by a day, so lets see what happens.

lol thanks, I think the lady was reading the latest delivery date though.

Btw do Apple's estimate shipping/delivery dates are in proportion?

There was a customs delay yesterday as it was supposed to be delivered yesterday. Friggin' nosy canadian customs.:) Look at all the stops it made.

I sure hope this will count for Belgium as well.. I ordered mine in the last week of august, still no sign of it. I've gotten all sorts of ETAs, ranging from "next few days" to "we actually don't have a clue".. It annoys the crap out of me *sigh*

Picked mine up this morning. It's now sitting in my front hall waiting for me for when I get off work. Good thing the restaurant is busy otherwise the day would be dragging on and on and on....

By the way, from order to delivery, 6 days.

Here are the unpacking pics of a well packed 24" iMac by apple, especially the screen which was protected by a clear film peeled and a styrofoam wrap. Well done apple. Enjoy the pics and my setup is complemented by aluminum matching 2 stacked Lacie Porsche design external hard drives. Worth the wait after frustrating delays by apple, 6 painful weeks. I am now migrating files from my PowerBook. It is a smokin' fast machine... 2.8GHz of raw power! Also tested for dead pixels, there are no single dead pixels, perfect screen and no banding.
