Update on WirelessPros -- I ordered a "2 to 4 day unlock" on December 8.
Today December 22, after sending several emails which all went unanswered, I got the following, shortly after I filed a claim with PayPal:
Hello customers!

I wanted to let you know your unlocks are still in process. Holiday delays have pushed these further than we have anticipated so please bear with us, we should see results very soon

thanks and happy holidays!
Oh well. Now I have to wait for the case resolution before I can get an unlock from elsewhere. This is such a waste of time and a big nuisance, I'm of a mind to just sell the damn phone and buy an unlocked one. Avoid these amateurs.

No. I ordered 8 days ago, and today received the following message:

So I'm still waiting for the update but I'm feeling a little more hopeful.
I did purchase an R-SIM9 and couldn't get it to work either, it almost looks like it's going to work and then it switches to the activation screen and tells me the card is not authorized. I'm using an AT&T-locked iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.4, which is supposedly supported -- yeah, right. That worthless POS is going back.

I got the RSIM 9 Pro and can't get it to work, and the instructions on the web site are written in such bad english they're incomprehensible. Care to share with the class?

Once you insert RSIM 9, there's pop up on your screen showing list of devices. Just pick your device (Mine is iPhone 5S)! It will reboot your device and you're good to go. As simple as that.

After that, go to setting>cellular>toggle Data roaming ON, and 3G or LTE will shows up. The rest is happiness.

I wish... Doesn't work for me :-(
iPhone 5 locked to AT&T, iOS 7.0.4, tried a MetroPCS SIM and a French Free Mobile SIM. No luck with either.

Have you tried edit carrier on setting>phone>SIM Application?

Could you please outline the procedure? This is what I've done with my IPhone 5 locked to AT&T:
- insert foreign card with R-SIM9 Pro assembly
- rsim menu appears, select iPhone 5 and AT&T USA
- press Accept
- shut down the phone and restart it

-> no service

:-(

Now with the MetroPCS SIM it's more difficult because every time you switch to a different phone you have to call them up and have them switch the IMEI or else you get no service, so I don't like to do it unless I'm sure it's going to work...

There's a known forum with several disgruntled customers regarding his service as of late...

Agreed. However I can speak for myself. From what I know, I feel all the slow unlocked service are stuck in a waiting loop with him. If you approach him and pay for the upgrade, it goes through very quick. But that's my view. I may have just gotten lucky. who knows.

Only if you are with AT&T and out of contract, most people here have bought locked phones so AT&T won't unlock them.

There is a service that a few people have that can unlock any model/imei (no matter the status) the same day or next. This is the only service that is guaranteed working if you don't mind paying the high cost.

Okay, so what is that service? I had my daughter's 4S unlocked for like $10. Still, $100 seems cheap compared to roaming in Canada, where I visit frequently :)

I just like to comment, that R Sim 9 pro unlocking card working perfectly for me, both with Iphone 5 and 5S At@t. Installation was a little bit difficult for first time, but the second one went very easily. I know it is not permanent as factory unlocking, but cost only $8-15 from ebay and good until the factory unlocking prices goes back to the normal price.
