It may be a foolish question but how can I check the current version of the Infuse.app on my aTV4? Can't seem to find an about screen or similar. Also is there a way to manually check for updates? Automatic updates has been ticked but how can I verify the aTV4 actually looks for system and app updates?

In settings. Go to the bottom. Should say Infuse v4.0.2 (this is the first release it show here). I would not mind it showing under the logo on the left but at least it is here.

Just installed Infuse and using my old iMac to act as a NAS. Since Infuse is doing the transcoding I presume the requirements for a NAS are lower? Can people recommend a good low cost NAS ? Ideally i'd like Raid 1 so thinking Dual Bay?

Does your router have a USB port? Could just plug a hard drive into that.

@firecore does tvOS allow you to also access our iTunes library ? If so can you add that functionality to a future version. Having all our movies etc in one place is way better than two apps.

On top of that I suspect your video player has superior sound with its Dolby pass through. So far my mkv's sound better than iTunes movies played using apples player.

love infuse so far but wake on lan is not working for me. Various other devices, my mac, my iPhone and my old HTPC all wake up my windows 7 server no problem.

Does anyone here have wake on lan working?

Ive double checked all the wake on lan settings in win7 are enabled but still no good.

Its a pain having to leave server on 24/7

Hoping for this. I also bought the Pro version even if this is not a feature yet. Apple TV 4 native player is just plain crap right now. Specially how it handles audio for movies.

Seems to work for me using my iPhone 6s Plus. It woke up the Mac. I'll keep testing with my ATV 4 to see if it wakes it up consistently.

Just bought pro. Movie starts then just stops on ATV 4. Do I need to set the Mac where the shared SMB drives is to Never Sleep?

Also playback stutters randomly too much 60" screen, wifi AC 526 MB/s as measured by Airport Utility during playback.

Smaller screen like 42" not as visible.

Any other major network activity going on with other devices at the same time you're streaming?

Yes I was transferring 3 large data files about between Macs. Through 1gb ethernet. Perhaps the Macbook Pro Late 2008 that I'm using for iTunes Home Sharing can't handle the load. Too old?

Unfortunately, its a knows issue for quite a lot of people. I use dlna instead of smb shares and have no problems anymore. Hope they gonna fix the problems with smb soon, cause using dlna is not what i prefer.

Oh thats why. Well I hope they figure out a way to improve that. Including random jerkiness of video. I still paid and plan to keep the pro since I have faith with the developers improving the App for us.

The jerkiness of video is a bug in the Apple OS as rebooting the device solves it. If you get jerky playback, fire up Netflix or any other video service, and you will see the same thing there. It is a bug that has been there since Day 1 and in typical recent Apple QA it is still not fixed. Leaving the device on minimises the problem (i.e. set it not to sleep) but doesn't cure it entirely.

Most any brand/model of NAS can be used with Infuse, though we're a bit partial to Synology.

Unfortunately Apple doesn't allow 3rd party apps to play purchased iTunes content at this time. Sorry. :(

We're looking into a few reports of this, but haven't had much luck in replicating it here. Is your Mac going to sleep/standby while Infuse is streaming from it?

Well in the firecore forum there are quite a lot people having the problem that the playback stops without any reason. It seems its only with smb shares. Too bad you havent found a solution yet.

Hi,

Currently I have an old MacBook from 2006 (running Snow Leopard) where I have my iTunes Library.

Could Infuse stream from this computer? Or is it too old?

Thanks! =)

Infuse, unlike Plex, does not need to be tethered to a PC.
If you can read from a shared drive, inFuse can play it.
You can by a NAS Drive, fill it up with movies, share it with inFuse and turn that old MacBook off.

I mentioned before that some routers even have the capabilities for you to plug a USB drive in and share files that way - I know my Asus router does this. Might be worth checking.

Is buying PRO broken for anybody else? I am getting an "Unknown product identifier" error.

I had Pro via the iPad/iPhone app and it transferred over.

Maybe buy the pro version on the phone first?
