Library currently works with SMB, FTP/SFTP, and WedDAV. Support for Plex based UPnP shares will be available in 4.3.Does 'Library View' only work with certain sharing protocols? Doesn't seem to be working here, as the opening screen upon loading, just shows my favourite folders.
Edit - to answer my own question, yup. Had to set up all my shares again using SMB.
We're not aware of any major issues, but some general beta wonkiness may be present. We're working to get everything in tip top shape for the public release this fall. How is infuse running with TVOS 10 beta 2?
Thanks again for the help. Reconnected everything through SMB and seems to be working great now!It could also be related to UPnP indexing if/when new content is added.
It looks like the GoFlex also supports SMB and FTP, so it may not be a bad idea to try one of those to see how it goes.
Awesome! Thanks again for the help. Reconnected everything through SMB and seems to be working great now!
Thanks! So glad to hear you're enjoying it.Setting up again with SMB is not a big deal, it also allows me to delete files from within the app so it was worth it.
Blows my mind how this app has improved since launch. It is pretty much essential now.
Infuse is designed for videos only right now, but music streaming is something we may look at for a future update. This is agreat app, can we use it to stream music ?
Thanks for the feedback. Is there anything can be done to help with the sort order of movies. It's generally great but I have a problem with films which start with the word 'A'. For example 'A Clockwork Orange', 'A Serious Man' and 'A Bugs Life'. They're all filed under 'A' whereas I'd disregard this as it does with the word 'The'.
Also...and this might not be an infuse issue...but the metadata for the Star Wars films is a bit frustrating. Episodes 1-3 are prefixed with Episodes 1-3 whereas episodes 4-6 are simply called by their original film names e.g. The empire strikes back. It messes up the order and upsets my OCD. :O
Both minor issues in an amazing app of course
Thanks for the feedback.
Currently, only the word 'The' is disregarded when it comes to video sorting. We did actually disregard 'A' in older versions, but based on the feedback we received it was decided that Infuse would honor this word when sorting. I guess it may be a personal preference.
With regard to collection sorting, we are working on a few improvements for a future update, but in the meantime you may try the solution found here. https://firecore.com/comment/65328#comment-65328

When sorting by filename "The" Is not ignored. Don't know of that is a bug or not. Wish it was ignored. Thanks for the feedback.

Yeah, it makes total sense. Maybe we can revisit this down the road and look at adding a configurable option.Noooooooooooooooooo!!

See??
Thanks for the response though. Like I said, it's not the end of the world.
Hmm, sorry to hear about that. Can you drop us a quick note with a few more details about your setup so we can try and track down what may be going on in your case? https://firecore.com/contactI'm having a recurring problem where my Infuse library keeps having to fetch all the meta data for my SMB share. It will be okay for a few days usually then all of a sudden when I come to watch a to show from my library it will have lost all the meta data and spend the next age fetching it again. Once it has got he metadata it then has to go and get all the thumbnails on top of that and then I end up going thru everything and making sure there are no errors. Most frustrating. I don't mind having to do it once but at least weekly is not on. Has anyone else seen this or can anyone offer a solution?
When sort by filename is enabled, Infuse will honor all parts of the filename. This gives you 100% control over the sort order. When sorting by filename "The" Is not ignored. Don't know of that is a bug or not. Wish it was ignored.
Thanks for the feedback. Can you elaborate on what you mean by 'sort by term', or an example how a particular file is sorted correctly in another app but not in Infuse?I imagine that's by design. Sorting by filename should give you full control over the sort order. It would be nice if the metadata on infuse allowed you to enter a 'sort by' term. The 'my movies' app on the iPad does this and it works perfectly. Most of my library is sorted perfectly and it would be annoying having to rename hundreds of files to fix the few titles that are in the wrong order.
Got it - that makes total sense."Thanks for the feedback. Can you elaborate on what you mean by 'sort by term', or an example how a particular file is sorted correctly in another app but not in Infuse?"
The My Movies App just has a sort by field in the metadata. Usually it defaults to whatever it thinks the title is. For example, Star Wars will have 'Star Wars - A new hope' in the sort by field. Users can overwrite this in the metadata to 'Star Wars Episode 4" and it will sort by that instead.
You could also overwrite the Harry Potter Titles with 'Harry Potter 1', 'Harry Potter 2' etc. etc. if people would like those titles grouped by order of release whilst maintaining alphabetic order for the rest of their collection.
Essentially the app always sorts by the 'sort by' field in the metadata but the sort by field is automatically populated by the movie title. Users can overwrite it as they see fit.
Hope that makes sense!
Unfortunately, Apple doesn't allow 3rd party apps to play purchased iTunes content at this time. Sorry.Question for you guys.
If I purchase a Season of say Scrubs on iTunes and download it to my iMac can I take that file and place it in a folder on my NAS so that Infuse can see and play it?
I've been "acquiring" content however can't find everything I want in HD so have been looking at buying a few things.
Is this possible or does iTunes files work like that.
This is something Apple would need to add, and unfortunately it doesn't look like they've made an effort to add it just yet.Any news on Atmos Audio pass thru?
Sorry about that.GreenWings said: ↑

Ive submitted a support ticket, hope I hear something back soon. It's a real PITA loading Infuse only for it not to see anything under Library and for it to have to load the metadata for 2000-odd items
Sorry about that.
There are a number of improvements coming very soon in the 4.3 update, which we hope will help resolve issues like this that have popped up for a handful of people.
