Yes!Cool. Waited for Spatial Audio in Infuse since it was announced!
However I see only iOS is mentioned. Does it work for IpadOS and TvOS too? I sure hope so!
Cool! Thanks!
PS: any thoughts on adding a section for IPTV streams? m3u file support? I’m asking this for the past 4 years.
It's something we'd like to explore in the future, but no ETA right now.Cool! Thanks!

Sorry for the confusion.Hello everyone! I have the Infuse app on my AppleTV 4k. I'm wondering if I upgraded the app, along with a TVOs update some time in the last few months (and hadn't played a movie from my collection). I say this as now I'm prompted to purchase a subscription to play something from my collection. Did I miss something? Is this the model moving forward? Note: I'm not angry or blaming. I've been busy with sick family and work and haven't enjoyed any of my video collection since probably Q1 or Q2 of the year.
Sorry for the confusion.
Infuse has long been offered as a free app with optional Pro features. Some of these Pro features include the ability to play certain video/audio formats.
The mix of free video formats hasn't changed in 2-3 years, so it may just be a case of the video formats you're playing now being different than what you played in Infuse in the past.
You don't really need to install Infuse on the Mac for this. Simply set up a file share with your movies (DRM-free only) and mount it in Infuse on the ATV. Infuse can then scan the files and build a local library, or you can browse the directories on the share directly. Infuse can use embedded metadata to identify content, but it is much faster to use just the filenames for that. Infuse supports common naming schemes:Have been using iTunes on a 2012 MacMini quad core with external USB drive that holds the files and feeds my ATV 4K. But the MM is on its last legs and since newer Macs no longer use iTunes I am looking at Infuse to replace it. Went back and read the last 35 pages (from 2019 on) of this thread and Infuse help files but still I do not see any info on how SPECIFICALLY to set up a connection between Infuse on a iMac running Big Sur and the 4K Apple TV. Infuse’s (weak) help files simply say to load some content and connect using an iPhone or iPad to set up, but how can I do that with the 4k ATV instead? I will never watch content on the phone or iPad, just the ATV, streamed from my Mac to my TV or the 27" iMac itself.
Will my iTunes file and naming structure work OK with Infuse with all the (Subler) info I have put into the Mp4, M4v and Mov files that are in iTunes.
Do I have to setup iCloud for this to work, as I currently do not use it because my iTunes files are a few TB's. And again, I will not be streaming anything to phones or iPads.
Any help would be appreciated!

If your current naming doesn't work, you can use tools like Filebot to rename your files in bulk.
You don't need iCloud, but if you have several ATVs it can be used to sync settings by Infuse.

I have not put Infuse on the ATV yet, but will tomorrow. I am a bit confused by you saying that the shared file should "mount it in Infuse on the ATV." As my iTunes files are about 4TB on a 5TB external USB 3 drive, how do I accomplish this? This is not a network drive but is attached to the Mac mini which is still running Mojave. When Infuse scans these files and builds a local library where will that info be kept? My 4K ATV is 64 GB, does is store this info on the ATV or on the Mac mini? The Mac mini sole purpose is for iTunes for the ATV.
I am a complete dunce at setting up file sharing and networks so went the Plex route. I use Plex on my 2017 iMac that is running Monterey . All my media is on an external 4TB usb C drive. The Apple TV is on my home wifi network. I organized my media in folders and use these as Plex libraries e.g. comedy, drama, sport…. I installed Infuse Pro on my Apple TV 4K and use it to access the Plex libraries (this is a built in option for Infuse and I was able to do quite easily). With regards to music. I did have iTunes Match and the Music app on the AppleTV gave me access to that. I no longer have that, so access my music via a Plex library. I am content with that setup.Have been using iTunes on a 2012 MacMini quad core with external USB drive that holds the files and feeds my ATV 4K. Basically you'd be using your Mac as a file server that makes the files on the external drive accessible over your network. Then you set up a connection to the network share in Infuse on the ATV, which enables Infuse to access the files over the network.Rigby, Thank You for your response!

Another option for sharing purchases between accounts that are in different App Store regions is to use Trakt. Not sure if this is an Apple TV problem or a bug that can be fixed:
I'm in a country where the App Store is not available on apple tv. Infuse IS available on iOS/Mac etc. and I've subscribed for many years now. When I got my Apple TV I got around the limitation by adding a second user with an Apple ID from another country. Infuse downloaded (and updates) fine - and with my current Apple ID I can restore purchases and hey presto - pro subscription.
Problem is... EVERY time it updates the app I have to restore purchases again. it's incapable of looking for the subscription itself, it seems. Is this unique to me or does everyone face the same issue? Is it something that can be fixed?
