Me, being the nerd that I am, was going though the security updates page on Apple's website and I found that iOS 10.0.1 has it's own page, where one security update is mentioned. It is identified as CVE-2016-4655.

This same fix is mentioned in the iOS 9.3.5 security content page as one of the three major security exploits that allowed hackers to pretty much remotely jailbreak your phone. The other two fixes aren't mentioned in iOS 10.0.1.

This is weird, right? Everyone was so sure this was patched in beta 7/8. Why did they release a 0.1 update to a version the public never saw? Why wasn't this fix added in the iOS 10 betas? Did they ship iPhone 7's with 10.0.0 and then remembered to fix the bug? Why?

It isn't really important but I'm so confused.

Well, the fact that it's listed there doesn't mean that it wasn't there in earlier betas as well. As to why there's a 0.1 update before .0 was even publicly released, that's something we aren't really sure about at this point, but there are likely a number of possible reasons.

There's a page security content page for iOS 10.0.0 too. It includes a bunch of other fixes but not this one.

Music 3D touch Shortcut Widget is bugged i think... :\ all the playlists are offset a bit downwards . Having more than 4 playlists makes it more noticeable :\

I didn't realize that. I guess it depends on what actual builds those versions correspond to, which might shed a bit more light on it.

Anyone having issues with scanning the photo library? My phone wont create the "People Album". Its been scanning since yesterday but no progess at all..
It will only scan when your iPhone is locked and in charge , to avoid unnecessary battery drain when you need the battery . Yesterday it scanned my 1900 pictures approx in 1 hour.

The GM was most likely done when they were seeding Beta 6 to us. Therefore, all iPhone 7s made after Beta 6 are running 10.0 GM. Beta 7 included the security fixes, but that means all the devices that were made before Beta 7 don't have that fix. The easiest thing for Apple to do is change the GM to 10.0.1 with the security fixes and then on release day, everyone will have to update form 10.0 to 10.0.1.

The reason why they seeded the fixes in beta 7 was so that all people that are currently running the beta would get the fix instead of having to wait 3-4 weeks until the public release. That would be a security risk. So they had to seed the security fixes in multiple builds to ensure everyone was protected. (9.3.5, 10.0B6, 10.0.1).

Since updating yesterday, the Tunein Radio app will not stream to my Chromecast Audio device. Chromecast does show in the app, but clicking on it does nothing. This on both my iPad Mini (2nd gen.) and iPhone 6.

I tried the first obvious: Reset iPad Mini, iPhone, Chromecast Audio device. Delete apps and re-install. All to no avail.

Other Chromecast Audio compatible apps stream without any problem.

I am REALLY f*****g angry.

I was updating my Mum's 6S to iOS 10 using the IPSW on my MacBook, and it went into recovery mode with an error 7. I didn't do a back up because I'm an idiot and now she's lost years of photos.

It's my fault for not doing a backup. But I'm still mad. She has never been more angry in her life. :|

She's restoring from an iCloud backup but she didn't have iCloud Photo Library Turned on and I don't know if her photos are going to be restored.
iCloud backup should restore the photos as well unless you/she has turned that option off.

Congratulations, I am happy for you and your mum

By the way, Google compresses the file size of all photos, if you want unlimited storage. You can choose "original", but then it counts to the limit of 15 GB.
Technically but iPhone highest res is 12 mp so original photos would be saved on the free version anyway. That only changes at 16mp. (ie digital camera)

Updated yesterday and now i'm seeing that the proactive suggestion of opening the podcast app or music app on the lock screen after you put in your headphones into the headphone jack isn't working anymore. Is this a new change or is anyone else experiencing this issues?

Anyone having an issue with the iMessage audio message firing off randomly when turn device in landscape to use the handwritten messages? I am seeing this randomly on 6s. Restored earlier today since beta 9's and beta 10's were OTA'ed on this device and just wanted to start with fresh full iOS download. Still does it.

Apparently that feature was removed. Previous beta threads and this GM thread many have mentioned the lack of this feature now.

Do you by chance have raise to listen turned on?

Yes actually I do. Unsure why that would effect this unless its a bug as that is for incoming messages yes? Just tried it several times (still enabled) and it didnt do it this time. I will turn that off next time it does it and see if thats whats causing it. If so it must be a bug. Thx for suggestion.

Anyone having issues with video overlays or other in app videos? Star Wars Card Trader won't load free credit videos and my Q-See security cam app doesn't load any of my camera videos. I use my wife's iOS 9 i6+ to use SW and an old version of the Q-See app to view but those haven't been updated yet.

I feel for you. That's an awful feeling. To echo the others, I would use Google Photos. I lost a hard drive with all my full resolution photos going back 10 years. Google Photos saved my lunch! (Though, ironically, it may have been the 3 day process of uploading all those photos to Google Photos that caused the drive to fail!)

hey there. How can I report a bug if I don't have developer access?

Back on iOS 9 I was having a problem similar to what you described. Turned off 'raise to listen' and it went away. I believe its just a bug.

Is the Multilingual typing thing working for anyone?

Haven't been able to use it since PB1 and even after installing the public release as a clean install it doesn't work.

I have downloaded the Dictionaries and added the keyboards but I still have to change between them to write in another language.

Also, I'm not receiving the Contextual Suggestions.

Does it has to learn what I do for a few days before this 'new' thing function?

Works great for me in English/French.

So, now we all have got iOS10. Here is what I am feeling:

1) Everything seems just way too big, photos app, music, text, just everything. I wish there was an option to zoom out.
2) Had read that iOS provides slightly more storage, around 12.1 gb on iPhone6. but my 6 still shows only 11.8 available. On top of that, my usage has just increased vastly after the update. Had around 5.5 gb free before use. Within a day it has come down to 4.8. Surely the OS is taking more storage, as I have not installed any app or added any media to my phone. Any way to free up the space?
3) I really did not like photos app automatically creating memories and tagging faces. Is there any way to turn it off? Surely, these things take space, and I don't need it.
4) The notification banner is whitish in color, With most of the app backgrounds white, this does not go that well, specially when you are within an app, example email app.
[doublepost=1473882901][/doublepost]
I've experienced occasional hang ups, but that was earlier in the beta. Although I am still seeing slow loading when I the in-notification reply feature for messages.
Yeah same here. Occasional stutter, with quick reply being the slowest.
