I read what you said, duh. What new thing in iOS 10.3 is signing out of iCloud account now asks you to save any of your thing. New to everyone who has iOS 10.3 beta.

You should use complete sentences to avoid confusion. You said "That is new" then continued on about 2FA.

Ya I got an additional space of around 6 Gb on the iPhone 6s 64 gb. The latest file system might have something to with it.
Wait you are referring to available space yes? I meant reported capacity. I am thinking it used to be maybe 59.6 gb for a 64gb device. Wondering if that is correct and what it is now. Thanks

Gained about 2.5 gig of available space by upgrading to 10.3 beta1 on my 6s. Wondering if the new APFS is the reason.

Earlier it used to be 59.xx. now it is 60.36 gb to be perfect.

Just updated to 10.3

Using a complex wallpaper, all of my apps stutter when opening and closing now... on 10.2.1, it was just Safari and Mail that would do that.

However, if I use a simple gradient, it's smooth as silk.

Here's one of the wallpapers that makes it stutter

and here's a wallpaper that's fine:

I'm using an iPhone 7 Plus by the way and the display is set to "standard".

I know it sounds a bit weird that a wallpaper would make a difference but in my case it does make a difference. I would say only a handful of wallpapers make opening and closing apps smooth, but most of them will make them stutter (even the Apple wallpapers)

Also, it doesn't seem to stutter until you change the wallpaper from the default one, to a custom one. Once you put a custom wallpaper on, it starts stuttering (unless you get a good wallpaper like the sunset one I posted).

I've noticed the 'Update All' in the app store process looks different than it used to.

Prior to 10.3, tapping 'Update All' would almost immediately change all the '[Update]' buttons to quickly spinning circles. Those quickly spinning circles would eventually be replaced by the 'downloading/installing' circle that slowly fills in as the app downloads and then installs.

Now, when you tap [Update All], the [Update] buttons are one by one replaced by the quiet, slowly filling in update/install circles. No more frantic spinning all over your screen. It's actually quite nice.

Just noticed. The animation behavior is very similar to how my iPad Air 2 behaved during the earlier versions of iOS 9. Turning off transparency improved the frame rate of the home screen animation and using a dynamic wallpaper makes the animation pretty much perfectly smooth.

You can also use a more simple wallpaper to make the animations smooth as well. Try this one for example:

Hoping the battery drain is back under control.... I did notice the phone felt warm when charging which is not typical for this ip6.....

See what happens...

Do you set perspective on or off, with the sunset wallpaper? Thanks.

I needed to travel from Seattle to Portland today, a downed tree led to me missing the train so I drove my Benz. I used 3 apps to navigate and find stuff - Google Maps, Waze, and the stock Maps apps. Pros and cons follow…

All three mapping apps are ridiculously fast now when compared to earlier iOS versions. Apple's variant of Verizon's AOL mapping data still is missing key bits (such as accurate POI locations - a location I navigated to was about 1/2 mile off, not much has changed there and I was safe in knowing where I needed to get to.

I'm pretty pleased with the interfaces of the Google apps, with a caveat - both Waze and GMaps caused my iPhone 6S+ to really heat up, so much that I had to quit the app(s) after about 10 minutes or so to keep the phone from cooking itself, while the return drive with Maps led to a much cooler iPhone.

I wanted to try Here! but IMHO the interface gets in my way; I'll be heading back to Portland early next week and will give it a try. My only tip here is if you're using GMaps or Waze to navigate, bring your charging cable - you'll need it!!!

Not convinced the new file system is responsible for increased memory post-install. To test this, I checked my available memory on 10.2.1. Then I backed up and checked memory again. Following this, I restored to 10.2.1 and checked memory again. Finally, I upgraded to 10.3 and checked memory one last time. My results are below:

Initial free memory: 161 mb
After iTunes backup: 201.7 mb
After 10.2.1 restore: 5.67 GB
After 10.3 install: 5.61 GB

This reinforces my belief that the additional memory may be the result of 10.2.1 logs and feedback files being purged and not some dramatically more efficient filing scheme. I'm sure APFS has a lot of benefits. This just may not be one of them.

Anyone have issues on CarPlay? Since upgrading , the phone is acting up when plugging it into Carplay, most times it recognizes it as a USB device but not a phone, sometimes it recognizes it as a phone but wont automatically start CarPlay. Yet a few times it has worked fine. This was not happening in any of the other betas...

All iOS 10 devices use the same app closing animation now. I updated my iPad and it uses the iPhone 7 animation when closing apps. Consistency! I like it!!!

Gained about 2.5 gig of available space by upgrading to 10.3 beta1 on my 6s. Wondering if the new APFS is the reason.
In thinking about it I couldn't figure out how capacity could increase. In fact I don't think it can and I believe this beta is misreporting the capacity. 64GB is 64GB no matter how you slice it. Looking at the capacity or adding the available + used space its not adding up to reality. Doing the math, this is what it works out to and that shouldn't change:

64,000,000,000 Bytes / 1,024 = 62,500,000 Kilobytes
62,500,000 KB / 1,024 = 61,035 Megabytes
61,035 MB / 1,024 = 59.6 Gigabytes (which is whats always been reported for a 64Gb iPhone)

Now it reports 60.36 GB. How can that number be arrived at? To add to that, iTunes is still reporting 59.6 GB. Something not adding up here. Possible capacity reporting bug?
