I'm on 10.0.2 on my 6S+ and have been thinking of updating the phone because of the new filesystem. Has anyone seen any particular performance improvement with the new filesystem? Or is it something too "under the hood" to notice?

Edit:
Since I won't be updating from the latest stable version (10.2?), would you recommend using OTA update (about 800MB) or should I do that via iTunes?

Since upgrading on my iPhone 7 Plus and iPad Air 2 I've see a larger than usual number of "some files were unavailable during the last backup" failures during daily backups. My iPad failed yesterday and my iPhone failed last night. That's a 50% failure rate.

I saw that in the beta cycle up till about beta 3 or 4... but I have had no issues on any of my devices since then.

If you have iTunes available I would use that. OTA is ok but iTunes seems to have better results for some so may as well use it. And yes 10.3 has better performance on the 6s (regular) and seems so across the board from what I have read from others.

Delete your iCloud backup and force a manual one. Should clear things up. That was an issue during the betas and that solved it for me and others.

The battery life on 10.3 is amazing. I got right around 10 hours yesterday with mixed use of social media, safari, music, some games, and both on and off WiFi. I haven't seen battery life this good since I first got my 6Plus. I'm impressed!

Never had much to complain about in any of the betas regarding battery performance but I've taken a hit with this final version.

Hello all

I have huge problem after install iOS 10.3. When I call to someone then they hear me well but after 5 sec they have problem to hear me at all then back and it's ok and after few sec one more time barely hear. There is some kind of interruption during the call.

I've already done new install of iOS, rest all network settings, I've try Wifi calling, I've try with lte, 3G and without internet. The signal is quite good and I'm leaving in Poland and carrier is orange.

And I took SIM card from iPhone and put to Samsung and everything was ok.

Thank you very much in advanced.

Back where? Can you please clarify.
On the iPhone there are previous and next arrows on the upper right-they have always been there. On the iPad the arrows weren't there for the last couple of years and I really missed them. They are now located on the upper left in portrait mode.

It's not happening consistently. For example, it happened on my iPad yesterday overnight. In the morning I forced a backup which completed. It then completed on it's own last night. My iPhone completed on it's own the first night, but last night it did not. I forced another backup this morning and it completed very quickly.

My understanding is that that error occurs if a file is in use on the device itself while being backed up. I don't see how cleaning the backup off the server would help with that, especially if it doesn't happen all the time. I'm guessing it has something to do with the new file system.

Ah I dunno, after deleting the backup I never had the issue anymore either with automatic or manual backups. Seems it happened mostly with the automatic ones. But it was definitely an issue in the early betas as it was a "fix" listed in beta 3 notes.

iCloud Backup
Nightly backups should no longer fail with the error message “Some files were unavailable
during the last backup.”

I noticed that Apple used to work "should" instead of "will". That's usually an indication that the full cause of the problem isn't well know and a fix was put in that might (partially) solve the problem. In this case it looks like it did not.

If it continues to fail nightly I'll try deleting the backup, though in the past I've had bad things happen when trying to do that.

Yeah and it effects some but not all users too. I would get an iTunes backup first if you are worried. I never rely on iCloud anyway as it seems sketchy most of the time esp when running betas. Plus iTunes is faster and I can keep multiple backups. I just let iCloud run nightly because of convenience but really rely on my iTunes backup if things go south. But if you delete it and immediately run a manual you will have a current one in iCloud. Hope you get it straight.

[Edit] Just looked and I now have a message "The last backup could not be completed" message in iCloud Backup. Running iOS 10.3.2 though so maybe some new issue. This is a different message than the other one. Never had anymore issues while on 10.3. Oh well. Proves my point that iCloud backup is sketchy and not very reliable.

Ever since I've had my iPhone 7, safari gets kicked out of memory overnight. Even if it's the last app used.

I plug my phone in every night before bed and then when I wake up I unplug it (like millions do I'm sure) and when I open up safari it reloads the current tab and every other tab.

Does this happen to anyone else? I've only seen this on my 7 with every version of iOS 10. Other apps stay loaded over night but not safari. Is this just my phone? Or does this happen to everyone else too? Never had this problem with any of my previous iPhones.

Most of the times after plugging in for charging my 7+ afterwards Safari has been kicked out if memory and reloads tabs. I've often wondered why this is myself...

Thank you! Most people probably don't notice it as the phone is so fast and it roads so quickly. It's not a huge deal and I think it's just a bug. To bad they haven't fixed it through all these releases. Or maybe it's intended for safari to crash/reload over a set period of time.

Indeed. Not sure neither why this is, maybe someone else can enlighten us...

Since Safari deals with online content that is often changing, perhaps it goes through a refresh to make sure the latest content is loaded after some time has passed of it not being used?

Did instagram stop sending previews you could see in notifications? Now all I get is "so and so shared a post". No picture.

Hmm good point. Maybe it even has a timer built in...only after certain amount of time a refresh is triggered.

iPad Mini 4 128GB LTE (AT&T)
Updated to 10.3 via iTunes (rMB).
Two issues have resurfaced - they went away at 10.2.1 for me:
1. Stock email app - Fetch and Push are working intermittently. Can initiate manually (Gmail, Outlook) Polymail is working fine.
2. In Safari, heavy graphic pages like Patreon, DeviantArt, and others are back to choppy scrolling vs. smooth. At times when scrolling the page will reload to an earlier point in the scroll.

Other than that so far looking okay.

Update 1: When getting iMessages on my iPad, incoming alerts (sound) do not always play. Outgoing working fine.

There's an issue when swiping down from the lock screen...it used to be you could swipe left or right between notifications and widgets. Now, you can only see both if you're in an app. I preferred swiping down while in the lock screen and on the home screen. Typical Apple...one step forward, two steps back.

Edit: AND it doesn't remember the last thing you viewed (notifications or widgets) like it did in the last version.

I can still do all of that on my iPhone.
