I'm not sure if this has been posted yet, there are a lot of posts in here and I haven't had time to read them all. I did find a weird bug, tho. Go to Settings - Maps - Transit. It just says "localized string not found" for all the options.

Is anyone else having the issue of maps gps not working after starting directions?

I did have a GPS issues with Maps. In my case, it was if the GPS location was behind to where I was actually at. It eventually kicked in, but the map, next turn, and voice directions were running a turn behind the actual location.

No they haven't.

Old way:

1. Press home button to light up screen
2. Keep finger to activate touch ID and unlock

New way: (assuming there's no raise to wake)

1. Press home button to unluck
2. Keep finger to activate touch ID

Where are the extra steps?

Your steps are only one possible use case scenario. Remember the point of the lock screen changes- they were done so iPhone 6s users can see the notifications on their lock screen more easily right? So, remember that users you may not want to unlock to home screen immediately.

As an iPhone 6 user, in the past, you might have turned on the screen with the home button and immediately removed your finger from the button. You could then review and interact with your notifications - something that was always possible because the Touch ID is slow. After you'd finished with the notifications and while the screen was still on from your initial home button press, you could rest your finger on the home button to unlock it.

Now, though, you have to press it once more to unlock to home screen. That's an extra step.

Out of nowhere this morning, Photos decided to create several Memories "albums." I plugged my phone in when I got to work at 77% battery..when I picked it up, it was down to 58% even though it was charging. I looked at battery and noticed that Photos had jumped to 33% of my battery usage in the last 24 hours.

Anyone else?

don't think so, maybe you are playing with it more than usual.
No, battery life is always worse on Beta 1 of a major release because they are trying to work out major bugs and worry about battery life closer to release. Phone being able to make and receive calls is higher priority than 8 hour usage battery life.

Took my iPhone 6s off the charger this morning at 100%, listened to music while it was plugged in the car for 1 hour & then when I got to work. My battery was 70%. Usually my battery is around 90% when I was on iOS 9.3.3

Yep, perfectly normal for major releases. The main reason why I haven't installed it yet. Waiting for Beta 2 or Beta 3.

I've been lucky. Battery life has been the same as any iOS 9 build.

Really surprised how well this first beta runs. It's my daily.

Well, 48 hours and I am going back to iOS 9. Every year I install these preview releases and more or less I am able to cope with issues, but this release is too buggy and those bugs are quite serious. Alarms not shutting down, music playing while answering a call, way too many spring board crashes, input recognition is delayed up to a second, whole OS freezes up if I try to do something quickly.
