As much as I'd like it to be, I'm confident the delay is not a result of the indexing. It's too consistent to not be intentional.

Can anyone with a non 3DTouch device confirm it's there for them? I've often found myself accidentally landing on the home screen when I don't double click quite right, but it's a non issue generally as I'll use the 3DTouch shortcut instead.
I can press home button once to go to app switcher. This happens occasionally though.

This beta seems like a step back in performance. Maybe they have started to optimize for battery towards release. More aggressive cpu throttling would explain why some things are not that smooth/fast anymore (e.g. home button, app switcher, scrolling...).

My battery life is much better in this build. 1hr of usage. 3hrs standby and I'm at 98%. I do have slight delay when pressing home button. That wasn't there in B7. But besides that, everything else is the same as B6/B7.

Hold down the home button for about 0.5 seconds and release. This alleviates the home button tap timing bug.

For now I don't reproduce in PB7 Contact-Freeze inside phone app.

Previous betas was usual when change between favorites and contact inside Phone app that scroll freeze and then abruptly exit app to springboard

A question: what about "transmission" music in setup music menu? I'm trying upload files to my iTunes Match library just in case but I can't get anything

I don't get why indexing is always used as an excuse to justify slow performance etc

There's other fixes in this that have nothing to do with security. CarPlay is more reliable thankfully and quick reply on non 3D-touch devices works a LOT better.

What exactly do you mean by improved reliability on CarPlay? I'm interested. I have been having crashes and disconnects that have been occurring since iOS 8.2 more frequently in these betas and it's hasn't been fixed given the after all this time still. :/

Won't be GM. It feels like no obvious bugs from beta 7 has been fixed. For example, on iPad, when you have typed something in the search bar of the notifications center in landscape mode, two-finger keyboard navigation doesn't work properly still.
Other stuff like the invisible button in Music app still exists.

anyone else seeing the status bar flash if you do the following-

1- open an app that resides in a folder
2- open app switcher
3- open the screen that shows the folder you came from
result: status should briefly flash

1. Open folder. No status shown, as usual.
2. Open app switcher.
3. Press home, back to folder view. Status showing on folder view.

Yep seems a lot here are in agreement. Send a bug report/feedback.

They definitely fixed something in the media portion of it as a podcast app I'm on a beta of is no longer outright crashing to the CarPlay home screen as soon as I start playing a podcast. Now it just doesn't play instead (the dev isn't focused on 10 yet).

Also the Apple Podcast app while in CarPlay no longer crashes every 15 min like the last beta.

In general it's faster with a lot less lag while moving between apps. I've got a Pioneer 4100NEX.
