Yet, you still buy their products which shows zero integrity on your part.

I can imagine you at a restaurant "This food sucks! can I have more please?"
The Air 2 and my iPhone 6 were fine on 8.4.1 .

I didn't buy a new Apple product. Not sure where you get the fact that I keep buying Apple products.I own products from Apple,Microsoft,Google,Asus etc.I can find something to criticise about each and every one of them.Your problem seems more to do with the fact ṭhaT I don't fanboy Apple
You have well-established yourself as a stringent critic of iPhones in this forum - wasting no time in pointing out their flaws and nit-picking at every single semblance of lag and 'non-smoothness'.

Yes, you are entitled to your opinion.

However, your irrationality at holding stubbornly onto a product that you despise so much and not moving on to other better alternatives tells people a lot about your character. This then extends to the (ir)relevance of your opinions.

Moving on?I already am hooked into multiple ecosystems including Windows 10 Mobile.I can't leave iOS until and unless a proper version of Infinity Blade and iMessage makes it's way to other platforms.
do cover the gamut of everything off topic and through it all Apple is still the most valuable company in the world regardless of one persons opinion of slippery-gate, antenna-gate and battery pack-gate. Say what you will but that accounts for something.
This slippery gate, antenna gate and battery pack gate is NOT just my opinion. If you Google each and every one of these flaws you would find a ton of people complaining about it.And a known Apple shill Mossberg has also criticised these aspects on iVerge

Hold an iPhone 5s and a 6.You will realise what I am saying
No, I don't. I do own an iPhone 5s and an iPhone 6S+. The latter is much larger, and I am still able to handle it comfortably with one hand.

Big phones will naturally be more unwieldy to handle. It's simple physics.

All those things are really non issues, especially the battery case. The hype around that was just plain ridiculous bordering on stupid. The same with "bend gate". It was no indication on how Apple had lost its way. Honestly, it was just the tech journos trying to make themselves relevant during slow news periods by over analyzing Apple since they know anything Apple will get them hits. Just look at how all the sites parrot each other, then it spreads to the second tier "tech reviewers" on you tube. Apple is fine, they will not please everyone, that's why there is android. The new OS version will have upgrades and design refreshes I'm sure, and I guarantee people will still find complaints about it. That's just the way it works.

It took 7 years for the first major redesign, I think it will take more than 3 for the next one.
Actually they have made their major changes every 3 years.

Versions 1-3 were similar but iOS 4 had all of the icons recreated for the retina display, added home screen wallpapers, a new dock, new multitasking tray and linen textures, and 5.0 added Notification Center with these new design elements too.
So versions 4-6 were also similar.
7-9 have been similar. It's been 3 years since the last major UI changes and they have done their big changes every 3 years so far.

You criticised the antenna bands and yet you bought an iPhone 6. You don't even stand behind what you believe in.

Were the antenna bands added to your iPhone 6 in an iOS update?
I already put a case on it so they are not visible to me anyway. But I would prefer it if they were not there. The way the antenna bands were designed on the 5S/5 was much better looking imo

If it's not visible why complain about it than? Forget it. I'm putting you in ignore. You're a waste of energy.

I would hardly count iOS 4 as a 'major' redesign. The overall look and feel, icons, menus and whatnot were identical. Yes icons have been tweaked, but nothing had been done to match the difference of iOS 7.

Thing is I am not complaining.I pointed out the unsightly things about the design. If I can avoid certain problems so they do not bother me that does not mean the problems themselves do not exist. Not to mention Apple is supposedly removing them in the iPhone 7.So it wont be a problem for much longer

For the record, just curious what your opinion is on this, which one looks better?

Funny thing about these 3 points which are my opinion is that Apple is gonna correct 2 of them in the iPhone 7.Weird considering they had record breaking sales so people must have been happy with those points right? But yes it is my opinion

You imply that because 2/3 things you don't like are changing in a new design of a new phone is Apple admitting they were design flaws. (And not the first time you've implied this or even flat out said they were)

By your logic removing chamfered edges in the 6 and 6s is admitting chamfered edges was a design flaw in the 5 and 5s. Samsung must also be admitting it too with the S7 also moving to rounded edges.

Antenna lines moving in the 7 is a move they are most likely making because they are looking to add wireless charging (even if wireless charging doesn't show up until the 7s, that design change has to be done in the 7 because they never redesign on an s model) Moving antenna bands out of the way is probably required for whatever method of charging they implement. Not admitting very visible antenna lines were a design flaw.

Then there is the camera. They have had patents for some time now that mentions technology to make the modules thinner that wasn't available or ready to use when they introduced the 6 design. They would now be able to finally implement it in the 7 because again they don't redesign on s models, thus why the 6s still protruded.

I like both of them, but the one on the right has some pizazz.

So because Apple tweaks some designs they did it wrong to begin with? Ok then.

By the way, I came across this mockup, I think it looks much better than the current design (at least it doesn't scream I-MUST-HAVE-THIN-LINES-FOR-WIRELESS): ;)

it took them 3 generations to "fix" most of the iOS 7 UI changes, so i doubt they will "ruin" what they finally accomplished by another redesign so soon.

however i personally wouldnt mind, i like to play around with new things

i rather have those thin lines than those huge ugly glass pieces from previous generation. i never got the hate for the lines tbh, the iPhone 5/5S had a way bigger clash with those glas panels. Having said that, i never understood why they dont just use the same color as the center piece on either design

iOS7 hater calls iOS7+ "stale and dated" (ironically what we called iOS6) and wants another redesign.

In other news, water is wet.

that doesn't make any sense :) water cannot be wet. something covered or soaked in water is wet. water doesn't wet itself.

Jony Ive:

1. Works for the most powerful company in the world.
2. Was knighted by the Queen of England for his contributions.
3. Has designed the most iconic/legendary Apple products
4. Will be remembered long after he's gone.

What have you done lately or better yet, what qualifies you to criticize him?

While Jony Ive has some strengths, most of your points are meaningless. Forstall also worked for the same company, before he was booted out for his failures. Who cares what "title" some queen in some tiny country like UK puts on Ive? that queen is no authority on UI design, hardware design, etc. Heck I don't even know if she's educated.

point 3 is the only point I agree, but you have to qualify it with: he was one of the people who designed the most iconic products. 4. nobody knows or cares.

OP's statement merely stated Jony could not design to save his ass. Clearly this is not the case considering what he has been able to accomplish.

Let me ask you something, just out of curiosity...
How long have you been an iOS user?
You yourself, not some family member that lend you his/her iPhone sometimes

I've owned an iPhone 3G, 3GS, skipped the iPhone 4 to try Android, owned a 4S, 5, and now a 6+.

I remember when iOS didn't have copy/paste and Blackberry users made fun of us.
I remember when iOS finally got MMS as a feature.
I remember Geohot (George Hotz) because he was the only person to provide jailbreaks.

2008 then. I get it, you're experienced.
What about your opinion between Scott and Jony?

Scott's contribution to humanity (With heavy input from SJ) was to make technology useable by every day people. I appreciate the work he did to make iOS simple to use.

Jony's contribution to humanity is the beautiful products he designed for Apple (which were "inspired" by the work of Dieter Rams of Braun from the 50's and 60's).

iOS is simple to use and yet there are those who either find it too simple and/or want to make it like android.
