7+. iOS 11.

Having issues with staying connected to internet. Charge phone to 100% and in the morning it’s at 60-70% and stuck on no internet connection (orange text below wifi network)? Will stay that way, until I slide WiFi off/on. Nothing obvious in battery logs. Have tried everything. Resets, restores, etc. Been trying to troubleshoot for a few days.

When I charge wife’s 6+, always on 100% in morning and connected. She’s on 10.3.3.

I’ve attached a pic showing what I see. General pic from Apples support site.

Anyone having this issue? Any tips really appreciated. Frustrating. Thanks.

The way it works now is rather than showing zillions of ‘unidentified people’, you go look at the actual pictures and swipe down to see who it has identified. See someone you want to name then do so and it gets added to the list.

Basically what we should have been doing - when we take new pictures look at the recent ones and ID the people you want identified.

The new ML algorithms are vastly improved and the phone is continually rescanning your database when you have it plugged in, on WiFi and locked (usually at night). I continually find that it has found old pictures that include faces it has missed before.

This ability to ML analyze your Photo database is the great ‘unrecognized’ feature of 10 and now improved in 11. I have over 56K photos being continually cataloged on my phone with great Memories pictures it generates, every picture of any relative I have as digital content to show them and myself.
Got it. Thanks for clarifying on the feature. I was just worried that hopefully I don’t have to reinstall to get the feature as it should have been.

Btw anyone know what this continuing circle animation is at the top left next to the WiFi icon? It only occurs on the home screen.

It is an indication that iPhone is trying to use the internet - wifi or data.

If I install the GM, should I do the encrypted backup to iTunes that many sites recommend with betas? Or is the GM stable enough to do the standard iCloud backup?

Photos app is constantly uploading photos to iCloud. For hours it sits in the same place, iCloud storage usage for Photos doesn’t change.
iCloud backup is also sitting in the middle of a backup and not finishing. Checking iCloud storage showed that iPhone backup was taking up 18GB (on 10.3.3 it took 1.7GB). Seems to be bugged aswell

Are handoff compatible apps no longer appearing on the lower left hand corner of the lock screen? I updated my iPad and iPhone to iOS 11 for the first time and they no longer show up. I have to be on the multitask view to access it wether it be on the phone or iPad. Heck, phone calls are a visible green line on the top to transfer over to the iPhone. Is that normal or expected behavior in iOS 11?

Could it be that there is a bug with private browsing in Safari? If I start a private session, then close it, then open it again, I see all my private tabs that I left open. On iOS 10, it automatically closed all tabs when leaving a private session. I'm pretty sure that it shouldn't behave like this. What do you think?

Been running iOS 11 on my 7 since Beta 5, and on the whole it has been a smooth experience.
I’m not particularly sensitive to small lags/stutters, and believe that if I hadn’t read here about the 3D Touch animation, or home button delay, I probably wouldn’t have noticed them. Now I can spot them, but personally, it’s not something that makes me want to go back to 10.3.3.
My iPad Air 2 though, has been a completely different story... didn’t run any of the Betas, but decided to try the GM. Initially thought it was just the indexing, tried the usual troubleshooting, with no improvement...
It just feels so slow doing pretty much everything!! New features are cool, but the sluggish performance, and the fact that 40 out of the 220 apps installed aren’t 64bit (lots of kids apps for my daughters) means that I’m back to 10.3.3, and it runs like a champ once more!!
Curious to see further feedback from Air 2 owners, particularly further along in 11.1 or 11.2. If things improve performance-wise, and quite a few of those apps are updated so they work with iOS 11, then I’ll bit the bullet.
Otherwise, it will stay on 10.3.3 forever!!

Is anyone else finding the GM really slow and laggy on iPad mini 4? Looks like I'll be going back to 10.3.3 before release.
It's laggy on my 7 Plus and Air 2. Do not upgrade any device released prior to 2016 to this shoddy release.

My 6 is behaving the same as it did on b3. Battery suddenly drops to nothing, asks to be plugged into iTunes, then after a few attempts to restart, comes back at the same battery level, then I can actually watch the battery decrease % by %. Also, music.app keeps crashing, or won't play. My phone has restarted several times. HomeKit is also a little dodgy. All these issues had gone before this GM release.

Has anyone figured out how to stop iMessage app drawer from showing new apps that are updated for iMessage? I know how to disable them all together but I can't find the screen that allowed you to stop showing newly updated iMessage apps automatically. Does anyone know how to find the screenshot I'm attaching? Basically, I want to stop automatically adding new iMessage apps.

iOS 11 bugs just keep getting interesting and more interesting.. it seems all these graphical issues are related.

Found another one.

Just so I’m totally sure I’m not missing something...

In the Health App, why are Apple continuing to show daily/monthly/yearly averages for walking/running distance, instead of showing a total?

By day, you can see how many miles walked, but the graph literally shows averages. It makes no sense at all - who wants to see that, without distance totals?

I want to be able to see what I’ve walked each day, each week, each month and for the year so far. As well as averages.

I’m having to use a really bad, basic app in addition to Health App, just so I can see how many miles I’ve walked this year.

Week and month show total by day when you touch and hold on a graph bar. Then yearly switches to averages!

There’s no settings or 3D Touch gesture I’ve missed somewhere, is there?

N.B. Worth mentioning is that one of the iOS11 builds (early on) replaced averages with totals...

Once in awhile when I double click the home button to get out of an app the screen will flash black for a second. Another bug I'm having is random app crashes for no apparent reason. Besides those two things battery life is excellent on my 7+

Is anyone else still having respring issues? Mine has resprung several times on the GM release

Every day now. I did a reset a week ago too. It mainly happens when I go into notifications and had a few notifications from days ago laying around. Frankly had one a hr ago.

Is anyone else finding the Notes app to be very unstable? It will randomly crash on opening it and often hangs for 5-10 seconds on launch, after which I have to quit it or it will do it on every return to the app.

After testing 10 betas I would say ios11 un usable until 11.2 or 11.3

Or buy iPhone 8 to enjoy with ios 11

Did a restore. Everything seems smooth so far. Thanks to everything being stored in the cloud (iCloud or other), I did not have to restore from a backup. Seems something in my backup was causing the problem. My phone is not so sluggish either, which it has been since iOS11b1.

Update on this issue.

I finally figured it out. I restored in iTunes and set up the phone as new. I then loaded my apps. Charged phone before bed. This morning, connected to internet and no battery drainage. Showing at 100%.

Something in iTunes and iCloud backups must have been bad, because I tried doing both of those.

Shouldn’t it work on GM too? It’s the same as the Final version after all.

No, The issue now is the Third Party App developers are held in a holding pen till Apple drops Xcode 9 Release into the Mac App store then the iOS 11 built apps can be processed through iTunes Connect. This is why you will see an amazing amount of app updates starting Tuesday.

Ps. The apps that say that have been already posted to the iOS app store as iOS 11 ready were fixed with workarounds using an older version of Xcode.
[doublepost=1505738503][/doublepost]
App store is not allowing us to post reviews telling us that this is a pre-release version.

This is a process developed to protect the developers. It is not fair to post reviews for apps developed for iOS 10 when running iOS 11.

If something is constantly using your location, yes. If not, it should not be visible. Check to see what is using it
