Looks like 11.1 is more assistive touch centric. They have included quite a number of changes to enhance the usability of the feature.

Currently my setup is like below.

Battery still draining terribly. Not sure what is causing the drain. Can see the battery meter literally going down. Have tried resetting all settings to no avail.

Have you tried a restore in iTunes?

They should turn iOS into a service model like Windows 10 which no longer has annual releases.
So you must be a fan the wonderfully efficient Windows 10 November Update, Anniversary Update, Creators Update, Fall Creators Update? Yeah that’s worked really well for Microsoft. Read a healthy dose of facetious into that statement.

Anyone’s iPhone overheating a lot more with 11.1? My battery has gone way worse as well imo. 13 minutes usage and I’m already down to 98%... usually 25 minutes of usuals is enough to take it down to 99%. Oh well, let’s hope I’m able to preorder the X next month
No. My iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6 and 2017 iPad are behaving exactly the same on 11.1 Beta 1 as they were on 11 GM and 11.0.1. I’m getting excellent performance and battery life on all three. Very pleased with iOS 11.1.

My life has been so much better since I stopped installing iOS betas...
And yet here you are...

quite a few bugs on this one, would stay clear of it if i was with you. Even beta 1 of iOS 11 wasn't that bad for me
Sorry totally disagree with you. iOS 11.1 Beta 1 is rock solid on my iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6 and 2017 iPad. Definitely a worthwhile install if one wants to explore the world of beta software to test upcoming improvements and possible new features.

Not yet, I'm trying to avoid this path but if the battery drain still persists, I have no choice but to try.

It reminds me of the same in the first beta of IOS 11.

Everything is so sluggish. Apple ruined a perfectly good 7 Plus. The animations ruin everything including that home button delay. The iPhone 8 is also losing to the Note 8. Atrocious optimisation. WOrse than any past Android I have used.
Oh please. There hasn’t been a release that has ever made you happy. I don’t know why you bother using an iPhone when they all s**k. You said recently that money wasn’t an issue for you so why not just go buy the latest Samsung android powered device since according to you, they are such splendid devices? I don’t think you have ever been happy with any combination of iPhone and iOS with maybe the possible exception of 10.3.3. Hurry and grab it before it’s gone!

Restore is like the last resort. Here is my take. Don't ever reset all settings since I've had notice it can cause other problems. There's other ways to troubleshoot and narrow down what is the main battery drainer. Close all apps, clear RAM and wait to see if it is caused by a troubling app in the background. Repeat if you want to update using full IPSW with iTunes to narrow down if it was a bad OTA update. Check iCloud settings in case the update automatically change or revert some settings that was defaulted in the update like photos are being resync etc. Like this update, defaulted a new podcast widget. Maxing out brightness can also be the main battery drainer. Let the update settle for indexing after 24 hours.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try the suggestions. Hope that one of them will actually resolve the issue.

People praising Apple for fixing their product, but why isn't there more anger about the state it was released in in the first place? Every year (and every software release ever) there are some bugs that need ironing out in a first major update and that's fair enough. But this year was different, iOS 11.0 was a slap in the face to loyal customers. But the product only just becoming what it should have been in the first place and people are celebrating - that's why Apple know it can do it, "Ah let's just get it out, we can fix it in a few months".
What do you want from us? Marching in the street in Cupertino? This is what happens when a company pampers for too long. Customers get used to it and then one issue causes fire and fury.

So after two full days of usage, I have to say I'm really happy with how 11.1 Beta 1 is running on my 7+. Battery life is much better vs 11.0/.1 and there are no noticeable bugs besides the calculator not being able to catch up with rapid entries. All the app opening stutters have been fixed from what I can see, and the faster animations are much welcomed.

Are you limiting the device e.g. using low power mode and turning off the animations?

I tried a restore and got stuck with the old error 9 message. Can't do anything with it now. Tried new cable, new USB port, different computer, etc.

Do you have the latest 12.7 iTunes? On iTunes, go to "Help", "Run Diagnostics" and untick all the rest except "Network connectivity test". and the result you should have passed all 3 tests.

If it did, you can turn off device, older device hold down home or newer like 7 hold volume down and connect the device without releasing the button. iTunes will detect it is in recovery mode so either update to preserve data or restore to wipe clean.

I can't turn the phone off. iTunes sees the phone in recovery mode but can't update or restore the device.

Only issue I am seeing is when using reach ability after a call. It animates in front of instead of behind the dock

Is 3D touch stutter fixed as well?

I'm not experiencing any delay but still a minor stutter

So the stuttering is still there... I wonder what is keeping them from fixing this... Probably a lot and a lot of people have been complaining about this issue...

Do I have some memory problems or wasn’t there supposed to be a feature to take long screenshots with iOS11? Like the screen would scroll and save it to one long screenshot.

This is quite solid on my 7+. There’s a few bugs that haven’t been fixed yet, but nothing that stops me from using my phone.

Has anyone experienced a stuck in landscape mode bug? It happens to me where an app (like mail) gets stuck in landscape and even carries over to the home screen until I close it
Yes! Sometimes when I unlock my phone it is stuck in landscape and only a lock and unlock will fix it.

The battery issues and heating issues are existing in 11.1. Te heating issue is apperaring after a phone call and in the battery percentages i saw that Mail app consume the moste battery power. I didn't have the issue in ios10.
