My battery life today. It seems I’m back to normal mostly.

It's Either the rest finger to open OR AssistiveTouch that caused the battery drain.
Unfortunately i turned both off at the same time, and it fixed the battery drain issue.
Although now, i turned back on the "rest finger to open" and it does not seem to be draining the battery, so most likely it's "AssistiveTouch" that caused the bug.

So i'm assuming you had the same battery "Usage/Standy" issue, and turning off one of these features worked?

Glad that someone was able to confirm this workaround is working for now. Took me an ENTIRE day yesterday fiddling on the settings to finally found this.

I can confirm it works. My usage and standby was the same right until I made the changes mentioned. And looks like it has resolved the issue.

Today I got the use/wait bug (or almost, its almost same, I think its maybe some process stuck), I have the rest finger to open enabled, so now I have disabled it to see if it changes, but yesterday and other days I didn't have that problem, some days battery is great and some are not, with this I think I have like 8-9 hours of usage, and the stand by its correct. Also, using AirPods today was horrible, they were disconnecting all the time, one makes the usual chime when connected and the other one a different, that ends like the batteries died on an old music toy, and then it would play music for a minute and the it goes silent (But connected), remove from ear and put it again solves that. (Using one earbud at the time, at the beginning both at the same time (like 40 mins) and then with one at time until battery have died). iPhone 7 Plus.

Some weird bugs on my 7 Plus with iMessage, slow Portait to landscape orientation changes (same as on my iPad Pro 10.5), and the usual studdering 3D Touch and lagging return to home screen on iPhone 7 Plus, but not on the iPP. I have Reduce Motion turned on and it helps quite a bit in quickening up app opening and return home times.

All in all, iOS 11 is the most problematic buggy software I’ve used since leaving Android in 2011.

What iMessage problems?; I also have the portrait slowness and that the phone gets stuck on landscape sometimes and have to change orientation a few times to get it right.

New one that I’m trying to confirm at the moment: I felt the phone getting noticeably warmer than usual doing typical tasks (Safari, Messages, browsing the OS, etc.). Realized I had toggled on Reachability for testing and had it on for quite some time. In the hours after turning that off, my device seems to be operating at normal temperatures. Strange!

I had disconnect issues with my Beats X. This beta seems to have cleared it up. Re paid the AirPods then reboot.

I deleted and re paired my AirPods Thursday 3 times, have no issues then until today. (I have no used them much on the weekend).

Apple improved the WiFi disconnect behavior. If you press WiFi from the control center it now stays disconnected from all WiFi networks. Unlike before where it would auto enable itself and reconnect few mins later. If you reboot the phone though it enables again.

Finally. It’s no longer annoying and I can keep WiFi scanning on for location services.

Hello Simonmet,

Thanks for pointing out my English, I still make more mistakes than Apple with iOS 11 :p but I am a self-taught, learning English by watching Grey’s Anatomy so I am quite happy with the results.

I also have this bug with an updated app, the little dot changes colours.

I’ve become a maniac and every meeting with my friends who own iPhones starts with me checking this dimming - 100% iPhones infected.
So I just wait till the end of year until Apple fixes things (hopefully they will remember about iPhones older than X ;) )

You can call me Simon :D

The vast majority of iPhone owners will be non-X users for quite some time. Not least Apple still sells at least 3 generations!

So I think it’s in their interest to continue supporting older phones.

I’m curious, I haven’t seen anyone else experience this, but I’m on iOS 11.1 beta on my iPhone 7 Plus, and periodically I get the iPhone X bar at the bottom of my app. It doesn’t do anything, and whatever is underneath it is tappable as if it wasn’t there. It’s just the bar image is there. I included two pictures, but it has happened more than twice. It doesn’t happen all the time, but periodically it does in just random stock apps.

Edit: I didn’t look hard enough and found someone else had posted this same thing.

This is a iPhone 8 plus, don’t know if there’s a glitch or not, standby is a little to close to usage if you ask me

I have the same issue with my 8 Plus on iOS 11.0.1

Try to deactivate Bluetooth completely in the settings menu and give it again a try. That worked out for. Hope it's a bug that will be fixed.

It has been mentioned a few times. So far always on iPhone 7 / 7+ if I recall correctly.

iOS 11.1 beta 1 finally did me in. the phone kept freezing, battery was getting chewed through and overall i was having constant lagginess similar to something being a CPU hog. i "updated" back to iOS 11.0.1 successfully, but the prompt to download beta 1 kept showing up even though i deleted the profile. unable to access the storage menu to delete the update, i went ahead and updated to the beta with the intention of again, updating back. no dice. started spitting out an iTunes error 9, and unable to read the device to update. caved in and had to restore through iTunes. something was definitely wonky. used all the betas up to this point and never had an issue till now.

About the home button delay. Not that I’m a fan. But maybe one reason they did this is to eliminate the app bouncing down when entering the app switcher. On iOS 10 and iPhone 7 when pressing the home button the app minimized very quickly. When double pressing you got like a twerk effect as the app wanted to close but then cancelled that animation to go into the apps switcher.

This is now fixed in iOS 11 and capacitive home buttons. So animations now look better but at the cost of speed. Only way to really fix this is to remove the pause and change the animation so it doesn’t clash as it switches.

Definitely finding it buggy. When I'm on a phone call, I can't use any other apps because 3/5 of the screen is covered by a blurred wallpaper, and the keyboard always has the Control Centre bar across it, no matter the app.

Did you reboot after removing the profile? Always do so if you’re trying to get back on the public release track. Otherwise, your phone is still pointing to beta servers, which differ from the regular ones. You couldn’t delete it from storage because it seems the beta didn’t download at all. Sorry to hear about the troubles!

By the time I was able to reboot, it was too late and the damage was done. But it led to 4 hours of grief. On top of it all, my backups I just did were 11.1 and wouldn’t load on the newly loaded 11.0.1. So I had to find a slightly older backup from 9/27.
