Hi there,

Having huge battery life problems since updating to 11.1 (OTA). Is it OK to restore over iTunes and try all things again? Is there be any effect? It's huge drain not overnight but in usage also. 20 to 30% worse than 10.3.3.

8+ and battery drain here. Back to 11.01 and is fine. Just usage when phone is on standby. So 2 hours for 14 standby on 11.1.

Strange isn't it...the big differences between devices. My iphone 8 Plus on 11.1 beta 1 is running fantastic and with great battery life...today already over 5 hours of usage and 54% battery left.

Well ofcourse. All iPhone 8's and X's are going to have great battery life. It's just Apple's way of saying if you want better battery you need to buy a new iPhone.

Do you guys think iOS 11 will work one day as good as iOS 10 on A9 and A10 chips?

I’ve already heard that iOS 11.1 will be mostly for iPhone X. I mean c’mon! I just hate that phone. I think iOS 11 works like crap because they had to redesign OS for this X weirdo. I feel like 3/4 of their team worked on that, and the rest have worked on the update for other models.
IOS 11.0.1 was almost 300 MB (first small update to iOS 10 was 60 Mb - 110 mb) and anyway I feel like it did nothing to my phone :/

Anyone having that System Storage issue where it’s taking a whole lot of space for no reason? Mine is currently sitting at 10.33gb - any way to get this down?

I wouldn’t bother. This imho is a new iOS built with the new phones in mind. My wife has my iPhone 5 and I wouldn’t slow it down by later iOS versions.
Although i have it as a spare phone at home so just wanted to give it a try to see how it actually performs.

i find it comical how much complaining there is on this thread with ios 11

if you don't like it, downgrade to 10.3.3 while you still can (like right now) smh

all issues will be resolved

i didn't like the stability of 11 and i immediately restored as new on 10.3.3 and now everything's great again

please do the same instead of whining over and over and over again for every beta or release (at least until ios 10.3.3 stops being signed which, in that case, complaining is valid)

It is literally apples job to make these operating systems run correctly. What are you even talking about?

There’s no such thing as a Cover Sheet, stop referring to the Lock screen as the “Cover Sheet”

Thanks

11.1 beta feels about the same as 11.0.1 as far as bugginess. Both could pass as betas, along with 11.0 release.

Shame the way the release cycle works.

I can't figure out what is killing my battery. I just restored via DFU and my battery is still running down like nobody's business. Ugh.

ios 11.1 beta 1 further improved iphone 7 plus single & multicore performance, by a lot & its repeatable, both on regular & lower power mode, over ios 11.0.1. ios 11.0.1 itself gave too a large increase over ios 11.0. battery is unchanged, still good. the device is now giving benchmarks far higher than it did on ios 10.x (& out of the box). excellent.

Apps automatically updating despite auto updates switched off:

I updated to iOS 11.1 beta and many of my apps automatically updated despite this setting being switched off. I confirmed that the setting was still switched off after this occurred. This has occurred previously during the beta period and despite some of the apps sitting in the update section for weeks prior.

I manually stopped some of the updates in the App Store and they have not auto updated again since.

Anyone else experience this?

Has anyone else been able to successfully set up automations in the Home app based on other people’s location?

Mine says that I need to update my Home Hub’s software, which is my Apple TV 4th Gen and it is updated.

Well didn’t think I’d see it too but my iPhone 7 Plus on 11.1 also thinks it’s a iPhone X. Lol.
