Also can you uninstall the beta and install the final version of 11.1 without redoing everything?
No need to. You will most likely get the final version anyway as the GM. Certainly you should remove the profile if you do not want to be in the beta program going forward. That will also download the latest release version if the last beta isn't it. Bottom line no need to uninstall the beta before going to the release.

Liked all previous public betas. 4 not that impressive & battery life was tad worse (not bad in general..just not as good). Went back to 11.0.3

The slight pause was one of the first things I noticed when I updated to iOS 11. I know why they did it and I’m use to it now. But the first time I pressed the home button it was immediately noticeable.

Something interesting. There is no delay at all double pressing the home button to go into the app switcher. And no delay pressing anything in the switcher such as an app our around the apps to go to the homescreen. In short, you can go to the homescreen by double pressing and then tapping the sides to go home just as fast as just pressing the home button once.
Are you for real right now? There is no way (at least on my phone) that it takes the same amount of time to get to the home screen by double clicking the home button and tap on the side of the screen as it takes to simply press the home button once. No way.

There is a new animation for clearing notifications on the cover sheet or whatever you call it
There was no input lag on iOS 10. This has no similarity with that bug apart from the fact that they both affect home buttons. This has to do with Apple intentionally setting a timed delay in the OS and its visible in the accessibility section in settings. Its just changing a number there, that's it.
I had guided access on and after turning it off i can now end the app opening animations early!
I would post a video but it says the file is too big :/

Let’s hope for a quick release of iOS 11.1 and follow up of 11.2 beta 1!

I cannot reset my network settings and my phone won’t connect to my carrier?

The Settings app freezes when I try to

In many instances, swiping up to dismiss apps from multitasking takes much longer to eject them from memory. I’ve forced closed troublesome apps (or others, to test), and jumping right back in from a closed state takes me to where I was previously. It’s as if the app never closed. That’s my only big gripe with this build.

Pretty good battery life

I am only speculating but given the usage changes in battery, a fresh install of iOS with a potentially fully implemented apfs for the first time on an iOS, It could improve things a fair bit.

Thanks for the feedback. For a prospective user who doesn't care about the new features, would you recommend staying with iOS 10? Or making the plunge with 11.1?
i'd say 11.1 is good enough for regular usage; it's decently stable but has several little annoyances such as the ones i discussed in my earlier post; now after actually having it for around a day, i can conclude that battery life is indeed slightly worse than it was on 10.3.3, but i did an update from it (not a restore as new, as it is the best way to avoid issues) so i may try restoring later if it becomes annoying

so basically just balance whether you want new features vs stability, if you care about the latter more i'd say stick with 10.3.3 for a while longer, as 11.1 still needs more improvements

Can someone else confirm that this is glitch is fixed? I just tried it on beta 4 and it's no longer present :)

Ok. I can say that “glitch” is fixed.
But I would be really happy if THIS issue is fixed. Pay attention to the artwork.

I’m not joking. It’s a two thumb operation. There’s many places on iOS 11 where you can now start an action before the animation has even finished. Try scrolling to a new page when unlocking. You’ll see the apps flying in at the same time as the page is moving to the next one. I just double press the home button (very fast) and then tap the screen just on top of the home button and the apps slide away before app switcher animation is done. I just tested it as well between my iPhone 8 and an iPhone 7.

Double pressing to home button to leave multitasking is actually faster than pressing the home button once...

Apple Pay Cash (the as yet unreleased Venmo-like feature) or plain Apple Pay? If the former, are you an Apple employee or financial institution tester? How do you get this receipt?
Apple Pay Cash. In the wallet app, when you tap on the (i) button underneath the Apple Pay Cash card you can request a statement under the transactions view. The statement is sent via email.

Don’t use Outlook app, it’s one big username/password collector.

Ouch!! How so?

Also, kindly suggest me some great alternative.. I feel Readdle spams a lot, otherwise I could consider Spark, since especially it now has deeper integration with OmniFocus that I use.

I think we have now reached a manic point. The delay that irks some of us here, we are prepared to alter how we use our phones because of it? To the point of concentrating on the phone so much to use two thumbs and all that? Wow.

And no, the delay is not so much that acting on the phone using two thumbs will be faster than one press from one thumb.

Just my opinion. Don't flame. :D

Love spark.

I personally don’t have an issue with the delay. Sure it could be faster. But with the delay they’ve fixed an animation issue that was present during iOS 10. I’m just reporting what I’m finding. And I’m impressed that apple has improved interaction with the devices to the point that you can tap and swipe before an animation has finished.

The reason why the app switcher is faster is because it doesn’t wait for a third press, unless you use triple press for something. Going home has maybe a 0,2-0,3 sec delay before going home in iOS 11. iOS 10 had almost no delay but you had the ability to cancel the home animation to go into the app switcher. The problem with that is that the animation looked jerky every time going into the app switcher (this is what they have fixed with the delay).

So it’s the combination of double press with no delay, the ability to press the blurry area of the app switcher to go home and that the animation where the apps slide to the side is faster.

I have been impacted by two major issues with the last couple of betas:
1. Skipping and dropouts when I play music on my 6s, both locally stored and streamed, Bluetooth and wired.
2. The amount of space taken up by System basically tripling whenever I tried to sync the big playlist I keep on my phone and iPad which had the effect of leaving me with no free space at all when I typically have between 9 and 11gb with my music loaded.

With the new update I can report that the second issue is 100% resolved. Both my devices are fully loaded. System is at less than 7gb and I have enough free space.

I haven’t had the chance to test the first issue because I haven’t driven anywhere in my car and I mainly listen to music from the iPad at home, which never had any playback glitches.

I think I might lay off loading the betas for awhile and get my updates with the masses.

I was experiencing number 1. The way I solved it was to 1. Unpair AirPods 2. Reset network settings 3. Repair AirPods. Back to normal Bluetooth dropouts of 1/hour or so
