Interesting. I've not done any testing with 29W+ fast chargers, and probably won't any time soon. I have chargers, portable batteries, and Apple cables out the ass, so dropping coin on a USB-C-to-lightning cable probably isn't going to happen until Apple includes it in the box.

That said, I mostly use 12W iPad and 24W Anker chargers and have not observed any significant heat coming from my cables or the device itself while charging and idling, and no discernible decrease in battery capacity above standard wear and tear.

But the phone's power management system determines what amperage it actually receives, with the charger itself only defining the maximum, right? I tend to doubt that the phone will pull more amps than is safe for its long-term viability. But you do you.

You're correct, but I'm willing to bet that if we both bought identical phones and charged them an equal amount of times, me only on the iPhone wart and you on the iPad brick (for example), that mine would be stronger a year in.

Just downloaded public beta 3. Biggest thing I notice? The clock on the lockscreen....the font is black, not the usual white.
If I just wake the screen, for a super brief millisecond it's still white before it turns black.
Should the time still be in white on the lockscreen?

Mine is white

It’s only on the lock screen and only once unlocked....is it REALLY that big of a deal?
I guess not, just my opinion it is a forum to discuss after all

Hm.........I wonder what's going on then.
If you have a very light ie white background, the clock will be black for contrast.

Actually 10 hours is pretty common for Plus phones. I was getting 10 hours usage easily on iOS 10. If you check JM's post above he hits 10 hours at times on iPhone 7 running iOS 10 and the 7 Plus has much higher battery life than the normal 7. There is absolutely no way I can reach 10 hours usage on iOS 11 on my 7 Plus. Just no way

Just to show you how much battery life the 8 Plus has take a look at this. 12 hours and still going strong. Another on 8 hours and half battery left. And these aren't anecdotal screenshots. Almost every 8 Plus seems to have this battery life. If you check NBKindagirl's battery life above its actually slightly worse than mine. Apple has ruined the 7 Plus battery life

I'll see if I can remember to get a screenshot tonight or tomorrow.... I came home yesterday with ~70% battery, so if it's lower than that I'll have a good example of how battery life is good on iOS 10. If it's 70% again, I'll have to wait another day to get usage times... maybe I won't charge tonight and see what happens tomorrow.

This is new...

Or I haven’t paid attention to it in past

I’m wondering if anyone has seen this behavior on WiFi?

I was in Twitter app about to send tweet. I was adding a .gif and the connection just stopped. It appeared as if I were connected to the internet, as the WiFi icon was fully lit. I quit all apps, and launched Safari and other apps to access internet. No go.

During this lock up moment, I tried my iPhone, my wife’s iPad and other devices in our home and everything was connected and able to find websites. I logged into router and it was fine as well. No errors in log. The only way to restore connection was to turn it off/on. iPad Pro 10.5.

I filed a bug report. I think this has happened before, but unsure if it was Twitter app that time.

When I visit some websites, macrumors being one of them, Face ID verifies it’s me and the Face ID pop up comes up. I’m only on the home page, not sure why it does this? Is this a bug or a setting? It’s not filling out my password or information.

I was having all kinds of problems with the phone app on my 7+ after this update. I had tried every suggestion until I saw somebody say to put the phone in airplane mode for a few seconds then turn it off. It worked! Not only is my visual voicemail back, the app itself is more responsive and hasn't crashed. Now I wish I could figure out WHY it works when nothing else does. If Beta 4 is released tomorrow as was reported here earlier, I think I might read the thread here before downloading. That was brutal!

I sure wish that fixed it for me. Tried many times and ended up needing to wipe my phone. I doubt a beta 4 tomorrow though. I believe they were referencing an 11.1.2 release.

So what’s your point? I think it’s clear you are very unhappy with your iPhone under iOS 11. Guess what? iOS 11 isn’t going away just to make you happy. Since you don’t seem to listen to anyone’s advice to take your iPhone to Apple for service, rehashing that you don’t get 10 hours usage out your battery, it’s very difficult to feel any empathy for you. Do the right thing and sell whatever iPhone you have (I’ve lost track what it is as a result of your constant complaints and confusing posts where you compare your iPhone to iPhones you apparently have no first hand experience with) and get a nice Android device. Yes I know you have ordered an iPhone X. Big mistake on your part as you will not be happy with the X as it too will be running iOS 11, your nemesis.

For the record, I’m running iOS 11.2 beta 3 on an iPhone 6 (16 GB), on an iPhone 7 Plus, on an iPhone 8 and soon on an iPhone X. I couldn’t be happier with iOS 11.2 beta 3 on all my devices.

A little off topic since this thread is about 11 beta, but here's my current iOS 10.3.3 on iPhone 7 battery usage (on track for 10 hours). I'll admit that the Tidal is helping the 10 hours because it doesn't use as much battery as video or safari, but I do keep Bluetooth in all day with Apple Watch.

Can you please tap on one of the entries and show us the usage time?

Here’s a weird issue (and this isn’t practical in everyday use), but swiping very quickly between home screens causes dock icons to shift sideways. They will settle into their correct position, then shift again and again.

Wow that's extremely good battery life. I have exactly the same usage time in Safari right now and it's the top app in battery usage. 2 hours 35 min of use and 14 hours 35 min of idle and battery life is already on 76% and this is after disabling Bluetooth for Apple Watch and 35% brightness. If you update to iOS 11, expect a huge decrease on battery life on your 7 as my 7 Plusbis doing worse than your 7 on iOS 11.

I don’t restore from backups. Always setup as New...

Still interesting - kinda like it
I'd expect the same behavior in either event. The phone is doing on-device transcription after it downloads and analyzes your voicemail messages from your carrier - the voicemails wouldn't be stored in your backup.
