Seems like the black background in Safari reader is now a true black background, not a dark grey as it was in 11.1. Not sure if this was already in the earlier betas.

now with earphones (plugged or connected via bt) and the watch paired (screen off) the notification sound is played from the earphones instead from the apple watch.

this fact is quite annoying

Do any of the .2 betas fix the mobile activity indicator on the X? It‘s supposed to be a dot that slithers around above the top right status bar icons but I have yet to see it show up.
My old iPhones always showed the data spinner for most things, my X never shows it.
Does X support that actually?

And I bet there are 8 Plus phones that don't come close to some of those individual anecdotal cases. Just like there are 7 Plus phones that get better battery than yours.

I can't get that battery life if I put my phone on the lowest possible brightness and turn low power mode on. This is not normal.

Nothing I mentioned was about your device (which seems to be experiencing some issues).

On device info last backup information report “never run” but I ran today.

Does any of the 11.2 betas fix the problem with disappearing notifications from notification center (including clocks and so on...)?

Does anybody else have some apps straight up stop working? As in not refreshing any information or crashing on launch?

Happens to me with Apple News and cPro for Craigslist apps.

Having the same issue as others with Music controls on the lock screen.

This used to say Sonos where it now says iPhone. Even tapping on the airplay icon doesn’t show Sonos.

I am comparing my phone to the 8 Plus. Even taking battery Wear into account I expect 10 hours of usage time.

Honestly, I have never seen 10 hours of use from any device I've ever owned, apple or android. I think you really need to readjust your thinking and expectations. Either that or just stop complaining...

This beta is working well for my 7+, it definitely fixed the issue I was having with carplay and the sounds not starting after being interupted. On my air2 it seems to fix the randomly occuring issue with screen rotation getting stuck. I have still seen some glitches on the air2, every now and then the dock disappears and I need to lock it and unlock it to get it back.

I was getting 10 hours on the 5c on iOS 7.... I'm getting 10 hours some days with the 7 on ios 10.3.3.

(I turn off background app refresh and siri suggestions... and most of the system tracking toggles...)

It's reasonable to expect 10 hours of usage if you don't play graphic heavy games of lots of videos (which I don't most of the time).

It sounds promising that you're having good experience with this beta. Maybe I'll upgrade soon :D

Battery seems to working well for me but not 10hrs use.

I get about 10 hours usage on my 8+ with mixed usage and brightness on 50% auto.

I know it doesn't solve your problem but I use apple news everyday on my 7+ and air2 and no problems on either one.

I’m having an issue with my Powerbeats3. They won’t switch off and are held as being connected, even though I’ve physically turned them off and no lights show.

I also can’t update them. Their is allegedly and issue with the beats updater for Mac/Windoze not updating the devices with the W1 chip. Apparently, after 2hrs on to Apple support today, they should auto update when connected to the phone, but they don’t support iOS Beta. So will only do it when on official release. This I struggle to believe as it means no one on the public beta could have up to date beats or AirPods

I’m currently on firmware 5.9.8 and can’t update to 7.0.2

That has not happened in my case at all. My iPhone 6 battery after a year was at around 90-95% (iirc) battery health after a year and I was using only the iPad charger on it. This time I used only the 5W charger which comes with the iPhone and my 7 Plus battery health is at 98-99% after a year.
Really doesn't mean anything, though. Battery degradation has a lot of causes aside from age. The environment you use it in, the way you use it, the quality of the battery, etc.

I have noticed that iPhone batteries have been lasting longer over time. My 5s battery wasn't doing so great by the time I replaced it, where my 6s battery was still doing pretty decent. I would expect that between improved battery life (meaning, the battery isn't being run down as far during most charge cycles, since discharging a battery too low is harmful in the long term) and improved battery manufacturing and chemistry, batteries just aren't degrading as quickly for most people.

Actually 10 hours is pretty common for Plus phones. I was getting 10 hours usage easily on iOS 10. If you check JM's post above he hits 10 hours at times on iPhone 7 running iOS 10 and the 7 Plus has much higher battery life than the normal 7. There is absolutely no way I can reach 10 hours usage on iOS 11 on my 7 Plus. Just no way

Just to show you how much battery life the 8 Plus has take a look at this. 12 hours and still going strong. Another on 8 hours and half battery left. And these aren't anecdotal screenshots. Almost every 8 Plus seems to have this battery life. If you check NBKindagirl's battery life above its actually slightly worse than mine. Apple has ruined the 7 Plus battery life

Heres another 8 Plus

Is the little bar under the signal/battery/lte new in 11.2? I'm on the X and don't recall seeing this before. Not sure why its there and doesn't look good. Sorry if it was covered in a previous thread.

hmm having he exact same issue now. I couldn’t delete some random voice mails (kept coming back in a sec) so flipped on airplane mode per a recommendation. That allowed me to delete the ones in question but when flipped back off, all vvm disappeared and started getting the same symptoms you are/were. With phone app hanging and crashing and the settings>phone hanging for like 8 seconds. Now same boat with no vvm and flakey phone app. Verizon here tho. And then there were three. Gonna try reset all settings I guess before going nuclear.
Ahhh shoot. Sounds like an issue with the beta. I really hope it doesn’t come back during the holidays. Any luck with resetting all settings?

Yes it being there persistently is new. It’s to remind you where to access control center. Most agree that it’s unnecessary and ugly beyond an initial time period.
