Not sure where else to put this: myself and a few others running iOS 11 are experiencing a strange bug whereby the iPhone will turn volume all the way down to mute randomly, usually while playing media. Anyone else seeing this? Bug is still present in 11.1.2.

Is there a solution for the visual VM being gone and the occasional phone app freezing?

So this has been my hell with the VVM bug/phone app lag on my 6s:

I first saw it on 11.2 beta 3 and couldn’t get rid of it no matter what I tried. Even did a full restore and it was still there. When beta 4 came out, I immediately updated but yet again, no visual voicemail. I did a full restore again, toggled airplane mode on for five minutes, and it came back and has been working as usual. Also, no lag on the phone app. The only hiccup I experienced was rebooting the phone and VVM goes away, but switching airplane mode on and off brings it back.

Hope this helps.

The phone app is freezing because its trying to load the visual voicemail which is where the issue is. On beta 3 the solution was reset all settings that seemed to work when the airplane mode didn't. Beta 4 seems to only need airplane mode toggled for most folks with the issue. But close phone app first then toggle AP mode (maybe 30 seconds or so) then try it. I had to perform the reset all settings in b3 to make it work for me. In b4 a quick toggle of AP mode just after the update fixed it. No other issues since.

Does anyone know if the fast wireless charging update for the iPhone x works on all wireless chargers that support fast charge, or is it only the two models apple sells in their store? I read somewhere that the update only gives you fast charge if you have the mophie or belkin they sell...

I bought a Qi Charger today that says its fast charge enabled, it charges phone but the phone drains quicker than it charges ??? So... despite it says it charges it just drains slowly lol...

So guess not?

Hmmm interesting I wonder if I may just have a less then optimal install of iOS. I’m dying for 11.2 to release because I’m going to restore all my devices and have my 3rd “refresh since iOS 11 released. Just the joys of iOS 11. Apple please take notes and don’t make the same quantity of mistakes in iOS 12, I’m begging you.

I doubt that "refreshing" will do much for point releases. Anyway, it's always good to report issues or suggestions on https://bugreport.apple.com/ or the Feedback app if on Beta program. Apple engineers do read them.

Haha you always come on here so upset and angry every single time dude
And so angry to forget punctuation mark every single time.
Which is why I said that if the delay is necessary to differentiate between the 2 clicks then why doesn't iOS 10 have the delay?. I have a device running iOS 10 with me right now and the home button is instant on it and it has no trouble distinguishing a double click and a single click.

The 8 is just an afterthought and a filler phone. Its not a flagship. Apple didn't even advertise it for their gift guide on their website where the X is front and center. Heck they even gave the wallpapers of the 8 to the 7 users which has never happened before iirc. They won't waste resources rectifying the home button on the 8 because all iPhones next year lack home buttons and better to spend resources optimising for the new form factor rather than the legacy one.

The X is the flagship and Apple wants to show everyone how much faster the gestures are and the home button iPhones have to suffer as a result.
Everyone wears a tinfoil hat and choose to believe whatever they deem truth.

The Samsung fast charging pad I bought seems to charge the iPhone X plenty fast. I don’t have any hard numbers at the moment but it went up 10% while I folded laundry. :)

Simply don’t understand why battery life is so horrible on iOS 11. Turned of automatic brightness, Bluetooth/Wi-Fi turned off from the settings app, literally always use low power mode but still the same horrendous battery life.

Just had the frozen phone app/ missing VVM bug come back this morning for the first time since updating to beta 4. Cleared the app, toggled airplane mode for 30 seconds, opened the app and all is working again.
I wonder what triggers this VVM bug?

I haven’t had it since toggling Airplane Mode. Hope it doesn’t reappear.

Noticing a new bug tonight. I keep getting resprings when attempting to tap FB messenger notifications as they come in. Just happened a minute ago, for I think the 3rd time. iPhone 7 Plus btw. Thinking of rolling back to the current stable version for now after I report the bug. Hoping it helps my battery life as well.

Here’s something new:

On this beta, Animoji are definitely better at recognizing and animating winking/blinking. Previously, the character would display a sort of shuddering, flickering, awkward and squashed half-squint as if the software couldn’t reliably detect a closed eye. As you can see, winks now animate much more smoothly (and the quivering eyebrows are an accurate capture of my real facial muscles straining to hold the position, not a glitch). I don’t have access to a device running an earlier build, but perhaps someone else can post for comparison.

As a bonus, they’ve also made enhancements to the models for “kissy-faces”. Animoji have always had special parameters for animating the characters’ lips while kissing, but the effect is far more defined now and can be triggered with a much less exaggerated/extreme pucker. Getting the kiss to happen reliably used to involve far less natural-feeling mouth movements. As this video shows, iOS is definitely morphing to differently-sculpted and specially shaded lips when kissing—it’s not just standard expression tracking.

I can’t be positive that these improvements come with *this* beta, but I’m pretty sure—and they definitely are noticeably iterated over the original Animoji models.

Great find! I’m hoping they add the ability to stick your tongue out :p

As I said earlier only the X and 8 Plus get good battery life on iOS 11.

Weather widget is completly broke. So many betas and they can't figure this out. I don't understand.

That is patently false! I get great battery life on an iPhone 6 and an iPhone 7 Plus. And also on an iPhone 8 and now on a iPhone X. By the way Radon, the iPhone X is going to drive you, of all people, nuts since it does not give you a Battery Percentage number. What will you do? Use a stopwatch? Like I said before, cancel that order for the X and run down the street and get yourself a Pixel 2 or equivalent today, no waiting and probably with a huge discount. Oh and sell your iPhone 7 Plus for a surprisingly decent price. You’ll be much happier since you won’t be saddled with the dreaded iOS 11!
