Regarding notification centre I don’t like how if you drag it down from the top if want to exit you either have to press the home button or do a full swipe from the very bottom of the screen to get rid of it. Quite a poor design flaw and not something very easy to do one handed.

It seems to be dismissed by a swipe up the exact same way as it was on ios10? Am I missing something?

I just realised that on the Plus iPhones you can now use square wallpapers and they rotate properly in landscape/they don't get stretched anymore. I reported this bug to Apple so many times, happy they finally fixed it.

I’m sure it’s been mentioned but BOTH the Bluetooth AND the Wi-Fi button in Control Center have changed their behavior. They can no longer turn off completely, they only disconnect from the current devices they are connected to. I knew it about the Bluetooth but just now noticed the same behavior from wifi.

Pretty cool considering there was previously no way (afaik) to disconnect from a wifi network without disabling wifi. With the wifi chip on but not connecting to networks it means it can still be used for location and airdrop.

Obviously it won't be to everyone's taste but interesting nonetheless

I honestly love that it makes use of Airdrop so much easier now.

And I believe that this is just a bug, hopefully. Wouldn't really make sense to me otherwise.

Looks like iCloud Shared Storage is working just fine. I enabled it from my iOS 11 device and then it showed up on the iOS 10 devices from the family share. I chose the family share option for each separate iCloud account and then downgraded their own accounts to the free 5GB. Pretty neat!

Can you elaborate on the process? I don't see any options to share icloud storage...

Go to iCloud and Manage Storage. Once you have one of the 200GB or 2TB Storage plans you can choose to share it with your Family (if you have iCloud Family Sharing already enabled). Then you go to each of the devices in your Family Sharing and choose the share iCloud storage option.

Thanks... so after adding the other icloud accounts to the shared plan, you drop those plans back to the free one... and does this scheme then give you 5GB on each device, too? How does it manage that? My wife and I each have the 50GB plans... she uses hers for her iPhone and her iPad... I use mine for everything else - we have 4 older iPads that we keep around for the grandkids... and I have several iPhone for various functions, plus a couple of Macs, photos and documents, etc... so I am running out of space on my 50GB plan... was going to have to go to the 200GB plan anyway... so I can do this and then drop her plan back to the 5GB, correct?

This is what I did and seems to have worked fine. Now I must warn you this is still a beta so I’m not sure if it’s wise to do it now. I’m considering moving my wife back to her own plan because she has a ton of pictures that I would hate for her to lose.
So I’ve started this thread to see if anyone has additional information about this feature: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/icloud-family-storage-sharing-questions.2050392/.

You’re welcome to check it out and contribute to it. Hopefully we’ll see some responses that might add new info.

Question about iPad multitasking.

Suppose I'm in Safari, full screen. Now I want to bring up, say, Reminders in slide over view. But, Reminders is not in my dock.

How do I get reminders there on the slide over if it's not in my dock?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks... I am currently exporting all of her photos to my Mac ... just in case ...

As far as I can seen you have no way to do it. This might be an oversight for the beta.
Unless someone else knows how to do it?

[doublepost=1497220689][/doublepost]One issue I have found is that videos don’t play in Apple’s News app. Not sure if anyone else is having this issue? I have iOS11 on my iPad Pro 12inch.

I downgraded the other day and re-installed today and apart from the battery life it's been pretty much flawless.

Had issues with a number of apps that for some reason have disappeared!

3 options: -

1) Go to home, find Notes. Initiate drag on Notes and enter multitasking. Complete drag onto Safari until spring loading occurs.

2) Go to home, find Notes (or use spotlight and open it directly). Open Notes. Enter multitasking and note (pun unintended) that Notes is now in the right of the dock. Either drag Notes to Safari or vice versa.

3) While in Safari, enter Spotlight (drag down, drag right). Type until Notes is found then drag. NOTE: This either fails to drag or crashes springboard more often than not right now and isn’t really even worth trying in this beta. I expect it will work in following betas

They are coming closer to Android in a way which is what people have been asking for.

Even if that were the case, we have to consider that iOS still has superior security, privacy, and support. Remember that Apple makes both the software and hardware too, essentially meaning iOS's optimisation will always be better than Google's Android's.

Didn't see it in bugs - but if I missed it, my apologies.

Anyone feel like the "calibration" seems off? I'm using it on a 9.7 iPad Pro...and it's not really everything or even 100% of the time. I've found in a lot of cases, safari, app switcher, I have to press just a little below the link or "x" in outlook. Might be a small scaling problem as I've not drawn a connection yet on when it happens.

Overall, the best beta 1 on a new iOS I've touched. Sure, bugs, but wow...it works pretty well.
