An EQ for the podcasts app....it's ridiculous you can't set up you own preferences for the sounds that enter your ears.

I wish Apple would "borrow" the EqualizerEverywhere app available for jailbroken iPhones and incorporate it into iOS, but that would be asking too much.

How about a new soical app, where u set ur friends groups, family groups and others, and have them unified in other apps, where u can easy share music, messages and photos with them, have whatsapp use there to create groups and other apps similary.. so when u start the soical app u can call a group see where a location of ur group if its the disney trip group..... i need one app that does it all... i'm not that good at explaining it, but if its done right i think it could replace the contacts app, the find my friends app, the imessages and the cellphone app

iPhone 5S - the first 64 bit smartphone with an advanced A7 processor
iOS 11- the first 64 bit Operation mobile system

4 years later the first 64 bit smartphone will be compatible with the first 64 bit operation mobile system.

iPhone 5s running iOS 11- perfect combination??

iPhone 7s (or 8) running iOS 11 would be the "perfect" combination.

It will be the 7S ... the traditional cycle won't be broken . Oh and I am following you C DM
usually it's major redesign on hardware with the iPhone n, and a major gimmick update on iPhone ns models.... but skipping a potential 7s will be a big one

S models - huge hardware upgrades , no design change
Non S models - overall design , slightly hardware upgrade
So yeah , the 8S will be the one to get ( iPhone 8 design + faster processor with significantly hardware upgrades)

iOS 11:

1 make sure Jonny Ives earns his money and actually controls it. instead of just leaving it up to subordinates who do not have his great sense of graphic design. make sure that design does not degrade into a "democratic process" which turns it into a mob defined design clash.

2 make sure that the iOS 11.0 release "Just Works" automagically.

3 make sure that the .1 releases of iOS 11.1 and beyond achieve real world battery optimization even while taking advantage of the various new app possibilities that will surely come as a result of new hardware found in 2017 September released flag ship models.

4 since Music is such a key app for apple i include this as well: make sure Music works flawlessly and quickly in terms of iCloud performance expectations. make sure all the basic claims are met: artwork and artist graphics are always shown, music is always downloaded or not downloaded (as per the user setting) automatically across all devices, etc.

summary: if we are to finally believe and buy into iCloud as a service as apple wants us to, make sure that all iCloud services work, and work perfectly, and, make it a co-hesive well thought out release that is worthy of a new space-ship campus that wants us to believe that collaboration was its initial reason for its very design.

Um...no.

I'm now getting fed up with the massive alerts in Apple Music (when adding to "Play Next" for example) and when leaving a review in the App Store. They need to tone these down.

I wish notifications were grouped and based on the app, had different background colours to make them a little different.

I can't really think of anything major as such. To me, it does what I need.

On a serious note, I hope we eventually see a Dark Mode (whether it's with iOS 11 or not, remains to be seen).

Well... iOS actually IS a 64 bit os. But it has also 32 bit compatibilities. I think, iOS 11 will be a 64 bit only system.

I'd like to see 4 icons across, 4 icons in the dock, no option to turn animations completely off...

Oh. wait...

I'd like to see a warning for people beginning to take video vertically. "Are you sure you want to take vertical video".

I have sent this in to Apple as a bug report. Funny thing is they closed it referring to another bug report someone else posted saying it was a duplicate. So others must be as bothered as I am by that behavior.

From the video posted above I only think 4 of them are very important and I would use:
Dark background based on Sun position
Number row on top of keyboard
Changing camera settings in Camera app
Improved siri

These 4 would be nice, but I don't need them.
Faster animation
Handoff for music to MacBook/AppleTV
Slide to unlock
More toggles in quick menu

The other 22 wouldn't help me at all.
[doublepost=1486930742][/doublepost]My biggest issue is that the Maps app doesn't have an off-line map. Even if it would take up 2-3 GB, I would still want it.

Second is that the maps app doesn't offer bike directions.

Third is that Siri has to connect to the internet even for basic tasks like changing brightness. I wouldn't mind if Siri was a little more talkative when items come up on my calendar, it would be better if she told me instead of just an alert. Same with text messages from certain people if I'm driving. Say who it is from and ask if I would like her to read it.

Missing Features.PNG

  • optimized sticker / app integration within iMessage
  • dark mode
  • power reserve mode (for iPhones)

My own ever-growing list, most of it copied from the previous thread:

Overall
- Customisable control center
- Ability to change default apps for Mail, Calendar, Contacts, ...
- Widgets on lock screen (so I can see my Runkeeper progress without unlocking, use my iPhone in nightstand mode like the Watch, use my old iPad as a wall-mounted thermostat with HomeKit controls, ...)
- Multiple user accounts on iPad
- Force Touch controls in control center for e.g. Wifi, Bluetooth, ...
- Multi-tasking multiple instances of same app (Safari split screen is a hack, why is this not available for all apps??)
- Password protection at lower levels (specific apps, specific documents, …)
- Missing iPad apps (Weather, Calculator, Voice Memos, Phone, …)
- Some type of file manager or easier way of letting one app access another app’s files
- Ability to control device management / syncing features directly from iOS or iCloud instead of through iTunes

User Interface
- Dark mode
- Merge long press & 3D touch
- Introduce an "edit" sheet separate from the "share" sheet (it is so confusing to find certain functions hidden under "share")

Siri
- On-device Siri
- Textual input for Siri
- Fully merge Siri with Spotlight - why are there 2 separate search interfaces?

Home Screen
- Ability to add other things than apps to the home screen, e.g. contact persons (especially for older users)
- Smarter method for rearranging icons (e.g. move multiple icons at once, or auto-sort most used to 1st screen)
- Live icons. Apple's own icons (Calendar, Clock, Weather) have been allowed some type of interactivity since iOS 1, why hasn't some API for this been made public?
- Widgets, especially for iPad. The way Android often has the clock and weather right on the home screen seems to work pretty well.

Continuity
- Handoff of ongoing media: transfer an in-progress phone call, transfer a playing movie (not AirPlay, but really transfer), …
- Native support for screen sharing, especially AirPlay from e.g. iPhone to iPad, or using an iPad as secondary display for a Mac like Duet Display
- Use iPhone / iPad as drawing pad for macOS
- A “push” form of continuity (send a user activity to the target device from the source device, rather than the current “pull” form where you start from the target device)
- Allow iPad to access files shared from macOS

Photos
- Sync faces across devices!
- Better user interface for face detection adjustments: A multi-picture "click all pictures of person X" view would work much much faster than the single-picture "is this X? Yes / No" screen that they have now
- Streamlining some interface choices, e.g. why on earth is "not this person" under the "share" sheet? Why are the markup options hidden behind the "more" button? Seriously, has anyone from usability looked at these apps recently?
- Allow albums from the "Albums" tab to also be shared under the "Shared" tab rather than requiring 2 completely seperate albums for private collection vs. sharing
- Tweak the Memories feature to be more targeted at automatic album creation, less at video creation

Contacts
- Manage contact groups on iOS
- System-wide VIP contacts (for Mail, priority Do Not Disturb, …)
- Default app to reach a contact (FaceTime, Phone, WhatsApp, …)

Mail
- Rules for which mails trigger a notification and which not

Music
- Make it more usable for people who only use their local downloaded library, no Apple Music
- Merge the iTunes Store app into the seperate apps for Music, iBooks, Videos, Podcasts, ...
- Some type of light subscription to Apple Music, for those of us who don't listen to Music enough to pony up the full price but still would enjoy the benefit of not having to curate our own library. For example a 2.99$ subscription with only access to a limited library, 6 month delay on recent releases, and only a limited amount of hours per month.

Podcasts
- Support for subscription podcasts
- Better access to older episodes (for podcasts running 10+ seasons you can only access the last 100 episodes or so)
- Better annotation (e.g. automatic transcription, ability to display certain links at certain timestamps within the episode, …)
- Some features for better monetisation (e.g. ads, in-podcast purchase links to apps, …)

Maps
- Offline Maps
- Dynamic re-routing in case of traffic
- Street view

Calendar & Reminders
- Just start paying some active attention to these apps rather than keeping them so basic
- As an aside, I don’t understand what the philosophy is behind having a bare-bones Calendar app and Reminders app (leaving a market for Todoist and Fantastical), but aggressively upgrading Notes every single release.

Facetime
- Group chat
- Screen sharing
- Facetime voicemail
- Sync favourites across devices

Health
- Sync from iPhone to iPad. I know they wouldn't want to sync over iCloud due to privacy concerns, but I would imagine some type of local sync from iPhone to iPad should be possible, just like how the Watch syncs to iPhone
-Allow entry of non-quantitive info, like listing when I sprained my ankle, had a cold, got a flu vaccine, ...
-Multiple profiles - specifically, allow me to enter info for my kids as well. Fevers, childhood diseases, growth, how much milk the baby drank, ...

Settings
- Re-organize the settings menu, it's been growing organically and doesn't always make sense anymore
- For example, make "Accessibility" a top-level item (so many cool things in there)
- Allow access to settings both from within the app and from within the Settings screen. It's confusing now that many apps require some settings to be handled via "settings" and some via "options" inside the app.
(Specific example of this - why can't I edit the Notifications screen from within the "Notifications" page of the Settings app? Why do I need to scroll down on notifications and press edit?)
