The point wasn't about just ios11 vs iOS 10. It was a a general point. The adoption rate in the first 2-3 months is decreasing every year with every new iOS upgrade. Seems people are getting to know Apple's trap.
That is one conjecture.

That's not a conclusion you can reasonably make with the information given.

Apple does not allow for reverting iOS versions, so there's no way of knowing whether or not people prefer 11 or would go back to 10 if they could. Anyone who buys a new iOS device will be required to use iOS 11 at this time.

To pretend that absolute numbers mean more than percentages that put those numbers in perspective is also nonsensical. I imagine you may well be a developer but not likely a marketer.
There is really no reasonable conclusion that can be made to support what little data there is. Nobody knows the real numbers. Percentages are meaningless in the case if more consumers actually adopted IOS 11 than IOS 10 at this same point in time 1 year later. As they say: lies, damn lies and statistics. I'm a business person who deals in all things IT, I don't like the cold but I do recognize a snow job.

The "4G" indicator in the right ear of my status bar keeps appearing then disappearing.

iPhone X on 11.1.2.

I've already rebooted twice, toggled mobile data on and off and reset network settings, other than restore?

What should I do?

The absolute numbers are statistics as well. They mean little on their own, which is why other numbers are used to give reference and context, and make percentages that indicate whether or not something is improving/increasing.

When lying or misleading with statistics, it's almost always what's left out that really matters -- lying by omission.

That is correct.

1000 more people died in airplane acccidents since last year is meaningless onoy because it disproves your agenda.
How,do these numbers fare relatively? So we can understand if it's an improvement or just getting worse every year. It's why common size balance sheets exist. So we can understand absolute numbers.

If you use percentages you lose scale. Let’s say 2 people in the world had Apple products. One person was on iOS 9, the other on iOS 10. One person updated to iOS 11. So the stat is 50% updated. That’s why scale is important.

The number of users added is minuscule compared to the install base already existing. If you look at the martlet share globally it hardly shifts a couple of decimals or so.

iOS 11 is Apple's Windows Vista. The speed tests prove it.
Actually, iOS 11 is like upgrading from Windows Vista/XP/7 to a Windows 8 that makes OLD Laptop especially 2GB Ram and below are sooo slow after update. so in the end, iOS 11 is like a Windows 8 of the Apple

No, 8 is lighter than both Vista and 7. IOS 11 is more like the Vista of Apple.
EDIT: Also lighter than 10.

Which suprises me. There are very few obvious changes/improvements from Sierra to High Sierra, or iOS 10 to iOS 11, especially in normal day-to-day usage. So what is the problem really? Bad coding? Maybe the new file system is more demanding and resource hungry (opposite of what Apple told us)?
Hmm...

iOS updates used to be relatively reliable on older models. However it seems that the 8, 8+ and X got a lot more compute power and specialized instructions, and iOS 11 was optimized for those hardware features, thus putting a lot of strain on older models.

In the past it seemed 2 iOS updates was good on an iPhone, but not so with iOS 11 for many users.

My IP6 finally had an issue with the lightning port not charging, and I exchanged to a X. The X works as expected with iOS 11, same as iOS 8, 9 & 10 worked on the IP6. This makes me think that Apple didn't spend much time optimizing iOS 11 on older models, as I would have expected the 7 and 6s to at least work well with.

I suspect after iOS 11 people are going to be much slower to adopt new versions on older phones. I'm definitely going to wait a significant time before going to a newer version in the future.

Strangely enough my old iPad Air works OK with iOS 11 after a clean install. Still a bit laggy compared to 10, but OK, which is strange given the older A7 chip compared to newer iPhones. Maybe there is some truth to the battery slowdown implemented in iOS 11 (which sucks for a lot of users).

I foolishly updated to ios 11 today on my phone. I hate it. Not the first time I've regretted updating my iphone, but somehow it just feels way worse this time. After trying everything I could find on the subject of uninstalling it it turns out I'm stuck with it. Also found out it's not being well received online either, my mistake for not using social media I guess. Definitely not updating my ipad now.

Contacted Apple support for help. Got told I was out of luck, got lied to about a few things too, like how it definitely didn't slow down my phone or kill it's battery faster.

In related news I'm done with Apple. Never purchasing their hardware again.

Can't say I disagree with some of your sentiments but. . . - you have not mentioned what version of phone? Maybe it is old?

Also a new iOS is different and that might be part of the issue? "I hate it" is pretty subjective? Maybe it is just different?

I agree with you - updates to new iOS don't fare well with older hardware - but maybe you have a newer iPhone?

People WOULD be slower to adopt if Apple didn't implement their awful "feature" of "easy" "convenient" upgrade overnight.

Were you by chance around when ios 8 released on a 5s or below? (I didn't have a 6 so don't know about that). Ios 8 was a TERRERRRRRRRRIBBBBLLLEEE.
