If they really enabled Apple Pay Cash in the betas of iOS 11.2, I‘m pretty sure that they also might enable it for iOS 11.1. No way, they let it test by developers or even public testers only.

With that being said, the emergency beta for iOS 11.1 made total sense now. It was the issue of Apple Pay Cash which was fixed in the last beta build of iOS 11.1. That’s why they delayed the last betas of macOS and watchOS.

Regarding new countries for Apple Pay: CreditCard companies like MasterCard and Visa start to “unfilter” the DBs for the respective countries.

Edit: WOW, they really let beta testers this in public... They really must be confident hat this is working properly...
Well......Maybe that is a stretch. They released 11.0 without it working properly LOL :D

maybe they originally want it to be tested on 11.1 betas, but the wpa bug (and the emergency release) changed their plan and the public test was delayed on 11.2?

With actually only thee weeks remaining in this beta cycle I highly doubt there will be an iOS 11.1.1. The magnitude of the autocorrection does not force an iOS 11.1.x . The only possibility is that there is an emergency security fix. But when even the KRACK-issue does not invoke an iOS 11 update than the autocorrection bug is a cosmetical issue.

This is the first time, that Apple lets public/developer test an Apple Pay related feature. What I can see though, they want to jump users from iOS 11.1 to 11.2 with a corrected version of the autocorrect bug.

LOL! I'll check back here at 1pm!

(Given the number of places I'm seeing the "I" issue pop up (forums, Twitter, Facebook, etc...), I suspect this is giving Apple a bit of a black eye. So I'm not surprised they don't want to wait 2-3 weeks to fix it).

It wouldn’t surprise me if beta 3 comes later this week, or if there are 2 betas next week before thanksgiving.
I don't think we would get two betas next week, being they take the entire week of Thanksgiving off, if the beta goes out Thursday or Friday and has a critical issue, beta testers are in deep trouble for over a week.

I assume we'll get 11.2 in December just like 10.2 last year. And 11.3 in March/April.
