My gut tells me that 11.3 Beta 1 will be released sometime today. I think they are under pressure now to add the battery monitor and performance increase so they will want to start testing ASAP so they can roll it out by end of Feb. Having said that, I could also be talking a whole lot of BS.
There probably is no better authority on what Apple is doing than Tim Cook. Tim has send the battery issue will be addressed in developer release next month, which would be February, not the end of January.

But then Tim might just be speculating.

Yeah he could be getting his information directly from the MR iOS 11.x.x speculation thread :)

Hahaha Tim thinks he knows everything! Like what’s more important for users, iPhone shutting down or performance. I take everything Tim says with a pinch of salt! He’s such a knowitall!

/notice my sarcasm in both my posts.

Whoever said 11.2.5 was not going to be an improvement over 11.2.2 was simply uninformed. The animation for swiping down control center is much and I mean much quicker and refined, the operation system itself is running smoother overall and this is not some placeboo I’m talking about, there are certainly UI as well as under the hood performance improvements that are appreciated throughout and that was all I wanted iOS 11.2.5 to be so I’d like to thank Apple for releasing this update today.

Glad you are having a good experience, though it sounds like some people are not. Question, did you update with iTunes or OTA?

11.2.5 has been an overall pleasure since the last few betas dropped, so that's awesome.

Question for those running it, have you noticed a difference in how Usage time is calculated for battery? Seems background audio doesn't contribute to usage time as much now from what I can gather. (using music and audible today didn't seem to up the usage times like it usually does)

Give it three days and your entire device will be experiencing what you did on 11.2.2. I can almost guarantee it. Right off the bat 11.2.5 was super smooth, but I am starting to have the little annoyances I had on 11.2.2 creep back up.

Stutter, lag, unresponsiveness. Even today, my home button's haptic feedback disappeared. That has never happened before.

FYI, its very rude to call someone's actual experience "uninformed". You were the one who mentioned that everyone is complaining about 11.2.2, so to then say someone's experience is uninformed voids your original argument.

I installed 11.2.5 with DFU Mode and I can say it is noticable the best iOS 11 Update for me. Smother as before, much smoother. I have an 8 Plus.

I as well have an 8 Plus, and its no different than 11.2.2. If you took my phone and told me you updated it, I wouldn't believe you. There truly is a placebo effect after installing new updates. The mind wants to pretend things actually changed.

Claiming 11.2.5 was the same as 11.2.2 before it was even released when in reality 11.2.5 is superior to 11.2.2 as far as system stability and performance is concerned is uninformed and misleading to say the least. 11.2.5 offers countless bug fixes throughout the operation system. That's all.

Claiming 11.2.5 was the same as 11.2.2 before it was even released when in reality 11.2.5 is far far superior to 11.2.2 as far as system stability and performance is concerned. That is all.
Before it was released? What are you talking about. I have been running it since Friday. I explicitly mentioned that this morning as well. It is not far, far superior. Its your mind playing games on you. Thats why the placebo effect is an actual thing.

Hate to break it to you, but after 4 days of running 11.2.5, I see zero difference between 11.2.2 and 11.2.5. Then again, I have had very few problems with iOS 11.

It's not placebo because my brother noticed great improvement on his iPhone X as well with 11.2.5.

Sigh. This is pointless. Thats the entire point of it being a placebo. The mind over matter. Placebo effect affects everyone.

Think and believe what you want. But don't go around calling people uniformed.

I suppose it's entirely possible the (powerful) processor is working harder during the indexing period, hence improved performance? Just a guess.

Several others here have as well in reading through the bug fix performance threads. If 11.2.5 has zero new features, zero new ui changes and had 7 betas then it stands to reason changes of 7 different versions were for some improvement on some front. Be it stability, performance or whatever. And others, some very vocal ones who constantly complained of previous versions, have noted improvements since Friday’s release of this version. So certainly it seems to be better for at least some. My 2 cents for a buck 95.

I don't mean to be a grammar nazi, but its "operating system". "Operation system" honestly sounds weird lol.

Don't bother. I hear it every single time how the latest point update is "sooo smooth now", yet when I update myself after reading such praise like for iOS 11.2.5, I still see the same lags and stutters plaguing the OS. It is very much a placebo affect indeed and I fall for it every time. I don't have high hopes for 11.3 either. iOS 11 is a complete fail and has been since day one, doesn't matter how many band aids they attempt to put on it. We will have to wait for iOS 12 now to see if they focus on performance or not, and given the trend in recent years of each iOS version getting worse than the last I don't hold much hope.

I updated three devices to 11.2.5 - iphone x, ipad pro 10.5 and ipod touch 6th gen. And i don’t think it’s placebo effect. My ipod touch 6th Gen is really very smooth. My friends ipod touch which is 11.2.2 is not that smooth compare with 11.2.5. We compare the devices side by side. I updated via itunes.

No comment yet for my iphone x and ipad pro as they are still “indexing”

(Sorry for my bogan english lol )
