This shows how stupid Apple are (sic) at present then. It's a damn sight easier to add a code in to the existing software, knowing full well when they plan to release the device, which allows that device to download the beta. Than produce a separate beta for that device.

Wow. It would appear that some feel quite entitled...

Apple IS working on the issues, and it will be here when it gets here. This forum is full of threads about "half-baked" software, people complaining about bugs, flaws and issues... yet this thread is full of people clamoring for the release of iOS 11.3, quite possible before it's ready. One can only imagine the complexity of the code for iOS... and what may appear to be "a damn sight easier" to do something that you or I want, it may not actually be the case.

A little patience will, most likely, be rewarded.

At what point am I "clamoring (it's actually clamouring :p)" for the release? I said it would be easier for Apple to allow the new iPad to use the existing beta, than produce/release a separate build (or even put a final build on it).

At no point have I said they must release the software (show me a post I have said that). I have said previously in this thread I am happy for them to take their time to get things right.

So no, I'm not "feeling entitled" at all.

You already created your own thread. You don’t need to post in here too. Your question has been answered.

Again. 11.3 no longer includes iMessage in the cloud. So your question is moot.

Also, already answered. No. Must be same iCloud account with same iMessage account across all devices.

Circumstances have changed. Like the removal of messages in the cloud. That’s why we got another macOS beta.

So when does this put MacOS release? Next week?

iCloud iMessages was never advertised as an 11.3 feature in the first place. The testing for it will probably continue in the betas for 11.4

I'm not sure why we got another MacOS beta (beta 7) as it still contains Messages in iCloud. So maybe they are leaving it in there and will put it back in to the next iOS beta.
I mean beta 6 had messages for iOS. I'm guessing once the final comes out for macOS it wont be in there. Its possible there was another last minute fix needed. macOS is in no rush to be released because of messages being removed from iOS.

No idea, maybe next week now that there is no rush with messages out of iOS.

I suspect it will stay in the current MacOS builds and be reintroduced in the next iOS beta to continue testing.

I am force updating my IPP 10.5 via iTunes with the ipsw. Curious to see if the beta profile is still on and I force an update if iCloud messages remains. Will soon find out.

Is it worth doing a fresh install if been on the beta?

Not unless you're having issues. It would be worth a reset of all settings first before going straight to the nuclear option.
[doublepost=1522345974][/doublepost]As expected, using the .ipsw on the IPP 10.5 removed iCloud Messages.

Deleted beta profile, not seeing the update, checked a few times. Am I missing something I need to do?

Amen to that. I'm not saying I have premium interwebs, but this has been quoting anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours and everywhere in between while downloading.
Looking at the progress bar I'd say not quite 20% done and it bounces between 2 to 4 hours remaining, currently saying 3. Good thing I don't need the phone. Might be ready to install by this evening. LOL

I didn't say YOU (personally) were clamoring (why do you Brits insist on adding a "u" so many words? :D ) for the release... and my point remains... iOS is more complex than the majority of users understand - by several orders of magnitude.

Have a good day.

Slowest download ever! Busy servers no doubt

Not seeing that, at all... I've updated an iPhone, two iPads and two AppleTVs in less than 25 minutes. I also downloaded the Watch update in that timeframe... but, as you may know, the watch update process is excruciating.

Maybe you shouldn’t have quoted my post then as it implies your directing your comment at mine.

We haven’t added a U to anything. It’s you Americans thinking you can make everything better and removing them.

Clue is in the title. It’s called English.

Or put another way....

So where is MacOS 10.13.4 I thought someone said they always come out together?
If you are thinking it was me, you are misinterpreting what I said. I said when they share features they come together. Being that iOS no longer has Message in the cloud, they no longer share and are now separated.

If iOS had messages in the cloud, then yes, they would have been released together. Because macOS got a beta this week, next week should be the public release.
