I seem to get a lot of criticism about my posts. I try to keep them on topic and only post as this is where the guys in the know tend to be. I won’t bother anymore. Sorry If I have caused any annoyance.

I have a dozen iOS 11.3 devices in my household. Not one experiences a single of those issues.
[doublepost=1524595067][/doublepost]
Always as new. Hence the reason why I have zero issues.
I suppose if the only way to get a 100% flawless device is to setup as new, then Apple shouldn't allow "upgrades" to the next version. However I really doubt your dozens of devices have not a single flaw or hiccup ever. And I doubt your calculator worked in iOS 11.0 either :) I don't have endless issues either but clearly there are things that ARE broken or Apple wouldn't release updates constantly to fix them. Just as the display issue that was mentioned in that 5 reasons list that is addressed in this release. It was a real issue even though you may not have experienced it. BTW I did a restore after 11.3 released just to get a clean start after all the betas and this happened a few times just randomly. So far it hasn't anymore (after applying my backup) but an example of the quirkiness of iOS. I tried switching wallpaper (black to blue) to see if it would get straight but just changed what was missing LOL. Only reboot fixes it.

@Mlrollin91 Did any of the recent updates fix your activity app?

Nope. Still completely screwed up. I won’t get my move streak for another 320 days.

I never claimed I have no issues or hiccups. I merely stated I have not seen or experienced any of the ones in which people are saying we needed 11.3.1. Everyone had the calculator issue, that was an actual bug that could be reproduced without problem. Everything listed here and on that link cannot be reproduced without fail (except 3D Touch after unlocking - that I have verified on my 8Plus). That is a real bug. Everything else is mere data corruption from a bad install. Dark icons, never seen it. Floating icons, never seen it. If these were hardwired bugs, then everyone would experience it. If only a handful of people are seeing them, then it’s more likely than not that particular install on the device. Occam’s razor.

I had the battery chime issue for a while, I haven’t had it for a few weeks though. If it’s still happening to you, it’ll probably happen to me again at some point.
Well... went to plug in last night before bed... same no vibrate or chime on 11.3.1. Guess I’ll have to wait for the next update. Sigh.

I‘d be interested too: how you end up managing app options and whatsapp chats backups??
I have never used WhatsApp. And if I did, the same answer applies to iMessages. I don’t care about them. I screenshot what is important and toss the messages.

As to apps. Most apps have their own automatic backup system that is independent of iTunes or iCloud backup. Thus, my data is preserved when I redownload the app.

Ok man, thanks

Is there a way to setup my iP as new “importing” WhatsApp chats backups???
Is this even possible or the only way is importing my iCloud backup??

Thanks in advance!

I thought WhatsApp uses iCloud Drive to store data. I’m sure others here are more familiar with it, since I haven’t used it. By using iCloud it doesn’t require actually using iCloud backup.

The vibrate when plugging in hasn't been around for some time as I recall.

I thought that was a bug haha my fast charger does that all the time and Im like man apple needs to get it together
From my research it does it because it’s connecting to the charger, then it disconnects then reconnects as a fast charger. It realizes it’s the fast charger so it reconnects to accepting more power. Who knows if that’s true, but that’s the answer that seems to be the most accepted.

I think that makes sense. but it could also lead to people thinking that their charger is broken

Yes it should vibrate and chime when plugging in. But mine does not do it pretty much every night when I go to plug in before bed. And you know under the usage and standby stats a little message shows up that says it’s been connected to a charger that usually shows up when you plug in and then once you hit 90% the stats go back to 0? Well mine doesn’t do this... the lightning bolt shows up and it charges fine but the message doesn’t show up and the stats do not reset once you hit 90%. They just keep going until/unless I reboot and then I get the normal chime and vibrate behavior and everything resets and is peachy. Never had this behavior until 11.3. And still remains in 11.3.1.

I have an iPhone 7, and ever since iOS 11 I have this odd issue where I will plug my phone in to the charger and it chimes and vibrates like normal. But then, after about 3 minutes or so, it will vibrate and chime again without touching it as if it was unplugged and plugged in again.

Okay, that is odd. With fast charging it’s immediate. Vibrate/chime. Then immediately again vibrate/chime.

Weird. Maybe since they have been tinkering around with the power management things because of the throttlegate through iOS 11 they have introduced some unwanted bugs on the 7 with charging. Mine is also a regular 7.
[doublepost=1524666409][/doublepost]My charging issue didn’t start though until 11.3. It’s weird. I usually never have issues.
