LMAO. Dude you talk as if Dark Mode will be the only option. Of course there will also be Light mode like we have today.

Have you used Windows 10? You can enable/disable dark mode with flick of a switch.

The dark mode is so much relaxing for night reading. Most websites I visit have a permanent dark mode enabled and it works perfectly for me. I wish MacRumors also develops a Dark skin.

Ontopic: I hope we get a Golden Master build today.
Even Android now has a dark mode. If nothing else competitive pressure will force Apple to build it in at some point. Also oled screens perform the best on dark mode.

Any chance of iOS 11.4 drop today?

It should be today or tomorrow. Normally they release a new public version the week before the WWDC which is next week. But they also are not keeping to schedule this year because we have seen Friday beta releases which is something new. So anything is possible but likely today or tomorrow.

I would think either Messages in iCloud will be included so they can brag about it at WWDC or it'll be pushed to iOS 12 at WWDC as a new feature.

Today is my bet for iOS 11.4

Also...I think there will some drastical changes in iOS 12, because they have to...I know, iOS 11 was a disaster...but they kinda fixed it with 11.1, 11.2 and so on.
I don't think that they will come on stage and say that iOS 12 has nothing new but a lot of fixes under the hood...
I hope that iOS 12 brings better notifications, dark mode and a more pleasant look

As long as we are guessing here, I’ll say 11.4 today or tomorrow.
iMessage in iCloud will be included in Release, because it was annouced for iOS 11. It kinda works right now and Apple would rather fix the remaining issues in 11.4.1, than skip completely before iOS 12 is announced. It’s pure politics, not a question of the quality of the software.

This week is the week before WWDC.

My bet is also today (or tomorrow) since next week will be all about iOS 12.

You clearly don't know what an opinion is. You said "Dark mode is THE single biggest feature needed if one wants to use their iDevices when lights are off at night."

That is an opinion, not a fact. I don't care if you can turn it on or off with a flick of a switch, that is 100% irrelevant to your post asserting that it is the biggest needed feature for anyone that wants to sue their device with the lights off. That is absolute non-sense. Reduce brightness has been around for years, and before that there was the triple click zoom trick to reduce the white point. I've been using that for years without a single problem. So to come in and say that dark mode is needed to use a device at night is complete and utter nonsense.

Again with your opinion that dark mode is more relaxing. So me getting a migraine is more relaxing? Just because it works perfectly for you doesn't mean others agree. Again, opinion.

Don’t think they’re gonna just flat out say that something is dropping today without a tip from Apple
Don't you remember during iOS 11.0 beta multiple websites reported that a new beta was dropping and it never did? Also, 9to5mac on multiple occasions has reported a new public release the morning of the so called release for it never to actually come out. Buzzfeed doesn't have inside knowledge at Apple.

My point exactly. One website starts reporting and all follow suit. Now 9to5 is reporting it.

I wish that Apple included two alternatives for Messages in iCloud. What I mean with this is this - all older messages are moved to iCloud. So basically, if you restore a backup from iCloud to a new device, the old messages won't be transferred. This really sucks because for me, the most important thing on the entire phone is my messages. I wish that they included an alternative to save ALL messages to iCloud and also that ALL messages were restored to your device. Hopefully this will come in the future?

I’ve never seen 9to5 wrong about a public release

It would be impossible for me to prove as the articles have all been pulled. But it has happened at least once per iOS cycle since iOS 7. It happened with iOS 11.x.x this year, and pretty sure it was a 10.3.x last year.
