No PB 3 today that’s annoying. Bluetooth stopped working in my car with Pb2. I know that’s the risk associated with betas but I wish they would send them out together later on in development when their just tweaks.[/QUOTE/]

Pb3

Had to remove and re add iPhone 6 to Clio Bluetooth audio

Calls are working
[doublepost=1501013481][/doublepost]Swipe to view or delete from lock screen is working again

Not sure where you are getting that from. Go to the bluetooth pane on your iPhone, you will see its searching for devices under your current devices. Additionally, leaving bluetooth will drain your battery if you have a mac or iPad, as its always looking to use continuity. You can always see bluetooth connecting and then disconnecting. This definitely hurts battery life.

Well yeah of course it's going to search for devices if you go into the Bluetooth settings. That doesn't mean it's always doing that.

I'm telling you I leave Bluetooth on 100% of the time and my battery life has always been fine.

Bluetooth is not the same as it was in the past. BT 4.0 is extremely efficient.

Like I said, it's not always searching. The OTHER device is the one that searches for your phone.

Just because you leave bluetooth on 24/7 and your battery is fine, does not mean its not using power though. Thats all I'm getting at. If you have a Mac/iPad, continuity is pretty much always on. Bluetooth on my iPad is always connected to either my phone or Mac because of continuity. I do see decreased battery life because of this. If I were to turn bluetooth off on my iPad, standby time is drastically better. Just because BT4.0 is extremely efficient does not mean its not using battery.

Edit: Just while typing this post, my iPad connected via continuity 3 different times.

I don't use that feature because I use my iPhone and iPad for different purposes.

Handoff is not turned on on my iPad or iPhone (i do not have Macs), so my devices do not connect via continuity. As a result, my standby times on the iPhone and iPadare very good.

Then you kind of just proved my point. Because you don't use that feature, you don't notice battery drain from leaving bluetooth on. So to anyone that does use those features, your original post is not valid for them.

Also proving my exact point.

Well if you need Bluetooth on for continuity, then why do you turn Bluetooth off? Kind of defeats the purpose of that feature don't you think? Also, what are you doing across devices that you can't manually launch an app when you pick up a different device?

I take it you don't understand continuity (because you don't use it). I can start typing an email on one device, and continue it on another. I can be browsing MacRumors on one device, and pickup on the same exact spot as I was on another device. Same goes for notes, messages and so on. Even phone calls. I can transfer a phone call from my Mac to my phone if I need to leave.

I turn bluetooth off on my iPad when I have no need to use continuity. If I am traveling without a MacBook, or if I am at school. Why keep BT on if its unneeded. Your claim that BT doesn't use energy when turned on but not connected to anything is invalid though. Thats what I am getting at. As long as that radio is turned on, its using power.

Start typing an email and save draft. Pick it back up on any device. Notes auto-save so that's not a problem. Website history syncs between devices so that's not a problem either. Most of those things are easy to do without continuity.

Also, prove to me that having Bluetooth on has more than a negligible effect on battery. I've been leaving it on for years and my battery has been pretty normal. I still get 10+ hours of usage from my iPhone 7 Plus and I do a lot of YouTube and browser stuff. Plus, I use it for Bluetooth music with my car and AirPods.

If my Bluetooth isn't on, it's a pain to connect to all my Bluetooth devices. It's easier to leave it on.

Edit: This is my battery from just today. I'd say that's pretty normal for all of that activity.

You just don't get it. Continuity is a feature of iOS, why would I not use that if I want to take advantage of the features. Saving a draft is an extra step than just clicking the icon on the second device. Syncing web history has absolutely nothing to do with what I am talking about. I could start typing this message to you on one device and pick it up on another device. I have done this countless times over the years. Automatic hotspot is another feature of continuity that I use quite frequently because of my WiFi only iPad.

I couldn't careless what your usage is. My point still stands. Leaving bluetooth on uses battery life. I haven't said how much it uses, but it still uses battery power. When something is on, it uses energy. It may be efficient but it is still using more than when its off. If you used continuity, you would see the impact of using that feature. That is why, like I have already mentioned. I turn BT off when I am not in need of that feature on my Air 2. I have noticed the difference in battery life over the years. You don't use these features, therefore you cannot comment on the use of battery life for these features via bluetooth. So can we please stop this logical fallacy "it doesn't affect me so its not an issue".

Edit: Other features that require continuity: SMS forwarding, calls on other devices, Apple Watch unlock, and universal clipboard.
