iOS 11.1 beta 1 Today?

It would be today or tomorrow as I don't think they will release it Friday before the weekend...

Assuming you got your Air2 sorted out huh? Glad to hear it.
Yeah as a restore as new. Everything is fine again. I think there is just something with my Air and OTAs. So I will stick to iTunes for my Air from now on.

(But when I said devices in that post, I was referring to my GF's iPhone 8). At that time, my Air 2 was still installing.

Is there indexing with every software update?
Based on my experience yes, and it seems to be more with OTA updates compared to iTunes because of the delta. It seems like it has to do more "shuffling" based on watching CPU usage after updates. I wish Apple would just come out and tell us how indexing works so we don't have to speculate about it. But its definitely there. Monitoring CPU usage can confirm a device is indexing.

Hardly any glitches on my 8Plus, even on iOS 11.0. I set the device up as new and it was pretty rock solid. After today's update, its even better.

Now my Air 2 on the other hand, is a disaster. iOS 11.0.1 is refusing to sync with iTunes and its pretty laggy. iOS 11.0 was better for my Air 2. Probably just indexing as I just installed it.

Are you going to put 11.1 beta on your 8 .. Just curious ..I also have the 8 + but want someone else to take the plunge first LOL

Negative. I am done with testing betas on my iPhone. Its too much of a hassle and I am sick of always having to restore my device. I use my Air 2 as a tester, but I've restored it has new 3 times in the last 4 weeks, so I think I am taking a beta break.

Same, I was going to as well but will wait on others to test it out first. Tired of restoring and going through the whole setup process again.

How do you monitor CPU usage? Thanks in advance

11.1 Beta 1 today (Apple Pay in Messages)

I doubt that Apple will activate/test Apple Pay Cash to the public (developer and public beta tester) prior the final release.

The reason why they postponed Apple Pay Cash within the initial release is, that Apple just have been granted trademarks for Europe and Canada. I can see them rolling it with the official release.

Certain things will not be tested outside of Apple or Banking partner. Usually banks are on a seperate beta testing tree.

I certainly can see them activate iMessage in the cloud.

In addition to what sunny2k1 said, today will most likely be a dev build only. PB will be tomorrow, Friday or even Monday.

I'm opting out of betas for now, too. My 6s is running very well so far on 11.0.1. But I won't be able to resist reading everyone's posts on the betas.

To me, X.1 builds really aren't all that special compared to X.0. Those are the builds that I am most tempted because they are like a new toy. I want to play with it! But X.1 has minor changes and minor features that you ant really take advantage of until others have X.1 installed as well. In this case emojis and potential P2P Apple Pay.

Or perhaps not even until the second developer beta.
Very true. I'm half asleep, yes, this is a X.1 build, so it is unlikely DP1 even gets a PB.

Based on the past, x.1 has been available to both developer and public tester available
I'm fairly certain there have been quite a few instances where the first developer beta wasn't released to the public.
