Up until iOS 8. Most iOS versions stopped at X.1.x. It has nothing to do with it being an X.1 update or not. Features can be added in any update, including X.x.1, like they used to.

Typically .x are bigger feature updates is all. But I presume in 11.1 there is a lot of iphone X stuff we cannot see.

Battery life definitely seems better on this beta, about a 20-25% improvement over 11.0/11.0.1.

Someone said it is fixed in 11.1 but I hope we won’t have to wait one month

Currently the only thing in test is 11.1, not sure if they'll spin up another 11.x.x release to address that problem or not.

Not really, just installed on 6s and it seems pretty speedy and fluid. No issues so far so no disappointment here.
