Here's what I've experienced so far:

A complete shutdown. Nothing would work but a hard reset to get the phone back up and running
Volume sliders don't work. Restart fixes this
Apps will freeze for 20+ seconds. Has happened a couple of times
iOS has seemingly failed once and after about 20 seconds, the spinning logo started spinning and back to the lock screen

What I like:

The way the lock screen lights up when I pick up the phone. Nice animation
Improvements to Maps
New control center
Safari is far snappier and scrolling is real smooth

What I don't like:

The bold text like in Messages sucks. I know I'm in Messages so why does Apple have to remind me? Waste of real estate
The extra bold date on the Calendar app. I had no problem reading it before
App store logo sucks. Triple hotdogs. Meh

In my nine years of rolling with iPhones, this has been the buggiest release yet. I know this is the first release of 11 but man, I and so many other people rely on their phones throughout the day for work, friends and who knows what else.

Ultimately, I don't have the patience to downgrade to 10.3.3 and set up as new or even from a backup. Just gonna roll with 11 and hope for the best

Edit: Tomorrow will be a good test of battery life. Gonna charge over night like I usually do

Battery life has dropped a bit today.
My morning routine involves 15min on the phone first thing in the morning and today battery dropped to 98%. With iOS 10.3.3, battery stayed at 100%, even after an additional 20min use.
No battery drainage while phone is idling/sleeping. So that’s a plus.

I’ll keep my eye on it for the next few days, just Incase it was a fluke.

I’m using iPhone 6S Plus, that is two weeks old.
Keep us updated about the battery life. Thanks!

When you say, "nothing works," did you mean it freezes randomly or when you do something specifically? Could you elaborate more?

Out of curiosity. What has improved in maps?

What did you like about the control center?

What is it about the bold text that you dislike about? What do you think Apple should do in this case along with reminder, as you mentioned?

About the logo, what is it about the logo that you disliked?

WHen you mentioned about buggiest release? What is the biggest problem in regards to bugs and what would you suggest to Apple? Have you done anything you could to resolve this problem? What I mean is, did you try to use feedback at Apple website or anything like it?

Also, how does it affect your work life or personal life with this bugs?

Thanks for your perspective.

1. Phone totally crashed. Screen wouldn't come on. Dead phone till I did a hard reset. Happened only once so far

2. Maps has lane guidance now which matches Google Maps

3. I think control center looks good visually and has everything I need to access quickly

4. I think the bold text is redundant. I already know I'm in Messages so why show a big title?

5. Except for the "A" in the logo, I don't see how the logo corresponds to the App Store. The older logos were better in my opinion.

6. The major bugs are the ones I've posted above. Phone shutting down out of no where, screen frozen for 20+ seconds, volume sliders not working. Nah, I haven't reached out to Apple.

7. If these bugs crop up and hinder my ability to use my phone effectively is these situations, then the phone is not doing it's job. Apple thrives on "it just working" and when your phone shutdowns and refuses to restart only by doing a hard reset something is off.

So much stuff just isn't working right. Apps crashing, touch ID not opening device or responding at all. Full device freeze needing hard restart. There are other issues but my post would be too long if I let myself rant fully.

The UI. What is up with that? I don't know how they've managed to take something so clean and turn it into an eyesore. I really don't like it. The transitions are all mixed up, too; some transitions slide up, some fade.

It's just a mess.

Nothing wrong. Let it out in this thread. What's the biggest problem(s) in your situation? And most importantly, how does it affect in work/non-personal life and personal life?

I was more or less kidding, but I feel like I've seen noticeably more negative feedback than positive. That's why I'm holding off. As soon as I hear about battery woes I get nervous and take a step back.
What is the biggest concern about iOS? Is it only the battery? What is causing you to hesitate?
[doublepost=1505978472][/doublepost]
For me it's the worst iOS update as far as I can remember.
What is it about the iOS 11 that lead you to say that? Could you elaborate more?

Yes, I really like iOS 11. Visually, they’ve taken the next step in repairing the damage done in iOS7 by restoring some UI elements back into the system, some of which I love, some others not so much.

Functionality wise, I love the new dock and multitasking on my iPad Pro. It was awesome before, but they have made it even better. Especially with the new Files app also in play. I much prefer the new way Control Centre toggles work, and the ability to customise what appears in Control Centre.

Performance wise it’s fast as hell on my SE and iPad Pro. There was some initially choppiness on the iPad yesterday, but I realise now that’s because it was re-uploading 30gb of Photos to my iCloud library for some reason.

I also really like the Notification/Lock screen integration.

My gripes so far:
- Draging apps around on the iPad is still pretty clunky. I can’t get it to work properly - it’s not intuitive. You try to drag an app into a folder and it doesn’t work. You have to long press and wait for it to start shaking to be able to move it into a folder?
- I don’t really get this multi-select drag and drop thing. I can’t work out how to use it properly and/or it never works for me.
- The single pane widgets page is back, and it’s ****. I loved the left justified clock and two pages of widgets iOS10 brought along. Why did they get rid of it?
- The new App Store is terrible.

Overall, great release. Can’t understand how so many people aren’t happy with it and are experiencing so many problems!

Every update is going to have people complaining about how fast the battery is draining. For some strange reason, many people haven't figured out that once the phone is updated, the OS is continuing background processes to finish the update. That takes power. Apple could keep you from using your phone by displaying the Apple for a day or so (depending on how much you have on your device) but that would be problematic, yes?

What do you think apple do to resolve "dragging the app" part to be more intuitive?

For multiple select and drag-drop, what do suggest apple should to be user friendly?

Could elaborate more on single page widget?

What is wrong with app and how could apple improve it?
[doublepost=1506000124][/doublepost]
Can't stand it. Very minimal improvements on the iPhone, performance degradation, poor battery life, the god awful Wifi toggle changes etc. Bugs and issues worse than early iOS 10 betas.
What kind of bugs are you facing other than what you mentioned and how can apple improve on it?

I'm enjoying it so far. The biggest gripe I have is that it seems like Raise to Wake is much more laggy/inconsistent :/ On a IP 7+...

Or keep the phone plugged in to a charger during an update?
Thought that would be common sense.

Oh all sorts of app crashes, the inability of the A10 processor and GPU that supposedly out benchmarks Macs to render animations properly. Apple can improve on it by not sticking to a yearly iOS update schedule and instead releasing software when its READY.

is there a way to put an app on the dock while also leaving it on the ipad screen /interface as normal, if i try to drag an app on the dock - it's only then on the dock alone, i want the app to be on the dock and on the ipad screen/interface at the same time, both places!?

There isn't. It's a bit uncomfortable at first when you're used to the Mac dock, where icons are proxies for apps that are elsewhere. Though I'm used it now I would still prefer it works as you describe and how it does on macOS.

Not a fan. Only thing I’ve really gained on the 6 is the ability to choose flashlight level.

Had to delete everything from safari in order to get it working again after updating.

Too much white space and bold lettering. Mail looks wrong. Music controls suck from control panel, having to long press is annoying. The artwork being tiny on the lock screen sucks too. I prefer a separate notification centre. The animations make it feel slower.. Why does it go black before showing your wallpaper when you go to unlock your phone?

Overall meh-ish... I’ll probs get over what I don’t like but probably the most underwhelming update so far to me.

What's so underwhelming about it?

Besides the control center, new buttons one for the numbers when entering passcode , and 64 but apps, it really is like iOS 10.
Nothing blows me away with it on the phone. A minor upgrade for a hyped iOS 11.

Reading reviews people agree it is more geared for iPad use.

Interesting. What's wrong with the mail? What would you recommend apple to do?

Been on the public betas for a few releases now and have just noticed you cannot pull down notifications when using reach ability which imo makes it useless.

This is strange since I thought reach ability was to help with using the phone with one hand and I have to use 2 now...again.

What’s even stranger is that they’ve added the one handed keyboard setting.

Also why can’t we sort app reviews anymore in the App Store? In one view I see a review from a month ago, a year ago and 2 years ago.

Can anyone save files locally to their devices in files?

Yeah ios11 has a lot of ux quirks.
[doublepost=1506004142][/doublepost]Oh but to answer the op’s question iOS 11 is a big big win.

iOS 11 on the iPhone, although not completely broken, is a head scratcher. It’s like they have many, completely separate teams working on small parts of iOS and don’t talk to each other. Interesting updates on individual features but don’t quite all work together in the big picture.

I've used it since day one and it's been trash ever since. I used to think iOS 9 was the worst iOS version and wouldn't ever be taken away from that title, but I was extremely wrong with that opinion. This is by far the worst, buggiest, jankiest iOS version I have ever seen since I started using iOS in 2011.

I really want to downgrade to 10.3.3, but can't because iOS 11 has screwed my phone up so much that the downgrade never carries my data over, half-asses it and barely runs, or completely fails during the downgrade. Every time, I have to restore my phone, update back to cancerOS 11 and restore my backup.
This entire situation has made me furious with the company, and their sorry excuses for inexcusable messes across all their products is simply unforgivable. I paid $750 for a phone that is a powerful tool for me, now it's just a chore to use it. Scott Forstall and Steve always said that they made iPhone with the idea that it wasn't work just to use it. It all worked and everything did what you expected it to do. Now it's just a mission to cram as much useless non-sense into a code base and release it without question. Whether it works or not, who knows, but it exists and it will keep everyone "happy". It should never be ran that way and it never should've went that path in the first place. I am really upset with this garbage they have given me.
