New bug with app switcher on beta 1.

But. I was recently on 12.1.2 beta 3 and changed to 12.1.2 final and this app switcher bug seems to be an issue with the final version too. So guess it makes sense it’s also in the beta 1 as it’s just an extension of 12.1.2 final version. Argh!
There is no 12.1.2 final out yet, the first beta was just released.

If you meant to say the app switcher bug noted in the video is also present in 12.1.1 final, I have not been able to replicate the bug in 12.1.1 final.

To enter app switcher, when you drag up from the bottom you have to hold for a sec before releasing. If you drag up and release immediately, you just get the home screen. It looks like that's what he's doing in the video.

Have there been any issues with anyone’s eSIM (specifically Verizon) after updating to this beta?

I fixed the typo in my post. It's only in certain instances, mainly when you try to close an app on the fly, it's not as smooth and if you see the video it does that now. I know the video is only showing 12.1.2 beta 1, but it seems the final that just came out has this same bug.

New bug with app switcher on beta 1. EDITED to correct typo.

But. I was recently on 12.1.1 beta 3 (this bug wasn't present) and just changed to 12.1.1 final yesterday and this app switcher bug seems to be an issue with the final version too. So guess it makes sense it’s also in the 12.1.2 beta 1 as it’s just an extension of 12.1.1 final version. Argh!

I've tried to replicate this and I can't. Oh well, guess I'm just lucky.

Again, can't replicate this on official 12.1.1 Release. His iPhone's are jacked up anyway, LOL.

ok, 12.1.2 beta 1 just showed up on my phone. Going to install and fix that pesky info/attachments bug in messages while scrolling that's been in every version (retail and beta) since ios 12!

I have this bug on my X literally since 12.1 lol i wanted to update from 12.1.1 to 12.1.2 beta but if he's getting this bug then i guess they didn't do anything or didn't even know about it

Ok, maybe that bug has been there then...

On another note, just updated to the new beta, and Image scrolling under INFO section of text messages IS FIXED!!! Thank goodness. For those that a power users, or use there phones for sending/receiving tons of pics for work or pleasure, that issue is now FIXED.

Soo far the whole phone (XS 512,b) phone feels quicker and is flying at the moment. I use this phone 8 hours a day sometimes constant, not sporadically. I will report back more later if it stays this good.

I’m glad I didn’t upgrade to 12.1.1 with the contacts issue. I thought about upgrading to the beta but I’m content with 12.1 on all 3 of my iOS devices. Hopefully 12.1.2 fixes other existing bugs.

Anyone got any info regarding battery life, stability, speed...?

It's running good so far, but only been a few hours. It did fix an issue that has always been there for many ios versions. If you have old text convo's, old, some of mine are from 2011... Yes... I've restored every iphone from backup when I get a new one. Anyway, those old convo's maybe starting from 2016 and before, when you would click a convo, then go out of it and then back, they would disappear and the order would get messed up. Mainly only for text threads pre 2016. That is now not an issue since this beta. This is a small thing most may not even need to do, but for those with lots of text threads going back years, you can do it flawlessly now. Even on my iphone 6s on ios 11 you couldn't do it correctly with those old convo's...

That's the point of betas.

Remove the beta profile from your phone and reboot. It will only prompt you to update to final releases.
Beta's are on my iPad only, but the problems I have started with iOS 12.1 and are still present on the latest beta's. Thats why I ask to block normal updates because I don't want to update my phone that are still on 12.0.1

For those who are wondering what changes are on ios 12.1.2 beta 1.

i think i found it.

you need to have two apple devices on Safari but different webpages. you will see the little icon at the bottom of your screen.
Hope this helps

Just added those two lines:

  • Fixes an issue with the brightness jumping up and down around 15% on XS Max (maybe on XS too) when True Tone or Night Shift are enabled (see https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/auto-brightness-glitch.2150281/#post-26709920)

  • Seems to fix an issue where the lock screen keyboard would still register clicks and prevent clicking on home screen icons if its not displayed on the home screen right after (tested on iPad Pro 10.5, iPad Pro 11, iPhone X and iPhone XS Max)
