I was expecting some new features or at least new emojis. On the other hand, it’s a good thing they keep on introducing performance and stability improvements, as promised. It feels snappier on the X. I’m curious about the battery life.

Update: There're no improvements to the battery life. At least on my iPhone X.

Display glitch for folders on the dock is still present.

Placing a folder on the dock then swiping right to the widget screen then back to the home screen makes the folder appear lighter for a second before returning to normal.

I have two issues with FaceTime:

1- Flipping cameras takes a LONG time.
2- To actually flip the camera is long winded as the button has been moved.

What are your thoughts on this?
Yes! This is an absolute nightmare!!!
Why on earth should I tap so many times ti flip the cam? Steve would fire for this.

If you're planning on getting one of the new phones on Friday and are also planning on restoring a backup, don't update to 12.1 as there is currently no beta for those phones.

That's exactly why I removed the beta profile from my 8+ so I wouldn't be tempted is the beta for 12.1 dropped before Friday and here it is!

i hope also for iphone
The guy on Twitter says that landscape Face ID won't be available for iPhone because it requires a "realignment of the front-facing sensors". I hope this is not true. It would be such a failure to release a phone for $1000+, then release a highly requested feature for an iPad and make people wait for the next generation of iPhones.

I wouldn’t be surprised.

All you have to do to avoid this is to turn off iCloud backup before updating to the beta.

The "last backup" will still be on 12.0 and will restore just fine to your new iPhone.

You'll lose any changes you make between now and then, but most apps are cloud-based these days and you're probably not doing anything super-critical with a phone running a beta, right?

Or you can get the new phone, set up as new, install the beta, then restore from a backup. Takes a bit longer but its totally doable if you already updated.

If you don’t like it report it, that’s what the beta is for. It’s nothing to get worked up about
Are sure that this would change anything?
I’ve been reporting the new sharing photos in iMessage like every beta since June. And that’s what we see in the final release.
So I think we should be getting used to the new scenario which is disgusting.

I think you are missing the point, there is no beta for the new phone yet. It took several days after the MacBook Pro and iPhone X came out for Apple to even release the beta.

Does anyone else have really nice colors in app splashscreens?

I opened reddit the first time after installing and the orange circle was REALLY really orange, looked very nice. After the splashscreen is gone and the circle starts its opening animation you can see the „real“ color for a second, much brighter orange tone.

There was a point in ios 12 betas where apple decided to change its color calibration, you can see that with the stock ios 12 wallpaper really good. Look at the colors when you set up the wallpaper and how its ended on the homescreen, very washed out. I hope this will be changed I hate this washed out look. And no I dont have this whitepoint thing on.

The twitter app splashscreen is a good example too.
Also have this washed out colors. Looks very strange on the Live wallpapers of the iPhone X. Dont know why Apple made that change.

No I’m not sure at all but it’s better than just complaining on here and doing nothing else surely?

Anyway, whatever...your choice
