Nothing. That’s what I was on before. I need to figure out how to get back to that. My iPad Pro 10.5 Wi-Fi + Cellular on AT&T is on the right firmware as well as my T-Mobile iPhone SE. Verizon and Apple keep pushing me back and forth, blaming each other.

You might try to place your device into DFU mode for updating the device firmware to iOS 12. Perhaps, after the DFU update, if the directory contains the carrier update, then it will apply those firmware files. I've tarred the two Verizon *.ipcc carrier files for the iPhone and iPad and provided a download link. Possibly, any one else that has the files for other carriers that were released with iOS 12, then they will provide them, as well. The local directory for these files will vary depending upon your OS. In the macOS environment, they are usually located in the '~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Carrier Support/' directory. When in DFU or Recovery mode, then you can allow iTunes to automatically detect and download the iOS *.ipsw file. This is usually stored in the '~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates/' or '~/Library/iTunes/iPad Software Update/' directories. If you choose to not have iTunes download the file or the download doesn't seem to automatically take place by the software, then you can download the appropriate *.ipsw file from https://ipsw.me and transfer it to the directory for your device.

0. Download the *.ipcc and *.ipsw files and transfer them to the iTunes directory
1. Place your device in DFU mode and verify for your specific device
2. Connect your device that's in DFU mode to a compatible personal computer
3. Allow the device to be updated and check that it detects and applies the carrier settings update after iOS
4. Verify in device settings and checking previous problem has been resolved.

Hi there. Would one of you testers mind checking if this bug (non gradual brightness scale) is fixed 12.1 betas? Requires iPhone XS or XS Max. Details here.

https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...ess-adjustment-not-smooth-transition.2144882/

I copy/pasted relevant info below for your convenience.

“Just slide the brightness bar really slowly from about 30% to 10%. You will hit a point where brightness dims dramatically instead of smoothly. You can go the other way to from 10% to 30%, too. Should see brightness jump/dim somewhere around 18-20%. ...You need to have Night Shift on and True Tone or it doesn’t do do it. Make sure those on.”

Now when pressing the flashlight and camera on the lock screen, there is a new sound! (Make sure your ringer is on)

I noticed this! I just came to see if that was new or not! Lol. Very nice! Although, I did think I had a busted Haptic engine that made the vibrate a little too loud for a second. After playing with the Mute switch I releasing it was a new sound. I like it!

Has anybody tried to add an esim card? I have tried with Sunrise Switzerland and it did not work. The carrier is ready but the iPhone said something about carrier not yet activated.

My battery ipX has completed only 53 cycles.
Yet in beta 2 ios 12.1, the max capacity is showing 99%.
Is something wrong with battery, or 99% is normal, or is the beta 2 misbehaving.
Batteries are consumables. They wear out. 99% capacity at 53 cycles is absolutely expected.

Benchmark evolution...always decreasing since iOS 12 beta 5!!!
Just FYI you should be running the benchmark several times (allowing the phone to cool down before each subsequent run). One single run in't conclusive for a benchmark.

Did they finally fix FieldTest stuck on Connecting... after 5 minutes post boot on Qualcomm devices?
I didn't have this issue before, and I still do not have this issue on beta 2.

Where did this plague that is “on accident” come from, and how can we stop it before it consumes us all?
Thank you! My kids started saying that when they were little. I attribute it to living in metro New York, where they say standing ON line, rather than standing IN line.

"By accident"

"By accident"

My kid did that until I worked it out of her. I think it started around a decade ago, because "ON purpose" "BY accident" don't match. We're in california. I grew up in new york and never heard it until I came out here.

Still there, but doesn't bother me

  • Fixed an issue where some iPhones and iPads would not charge as expected.

Not here. I’ve updated my iPad Air 2 and still have this issue. But it’s weird that i have 100% now.
