I am still facing the charging issue with my iPhone XS. If the screen is off and the lightning cable is connected, the phone is not charging.

That would be somewhat expected if both of the following were true when charging was tested:

1) You attempted to charge your phone when it was locked and had been so for more than an hour, and
2) Settings > Face & Passcode > USB Accessories was OFF

So I rolled back my Xs max to iOS 12.1 beta 5 .. and it’s faster again ! Between 12.1 beta 5 and 12.1 final is a huge difference!! My Xs max is finally alive , I don’t know what is apple doing but now they doing it wrong .. with 12.1 final , my Xs max was lagging, stuttering and animations were very slow ..

Ain't that a temporary solution? How long will you be able to stay on 12.1 beta 5?

If you are going to do betas and don't want to stay on 12.1 final, why not try 12.1.1 beta 1?

Using Siri to "Play (Artist)" responds with "Sure, Here are some popular (Artist) songs" but it never opens the Music app to play them. Even after opening the app and using Siri to play still doesn't work on my iP8+ or iPP9.7. Also, using Siri to play locally saved music is not working either. I have to manually initiate the music through the app to play. I have an Apple Music and iTunes Match subscription. Siri is noticeably slower to respond when searching for music, which is mostly what I even use Siri for in my searches. Reboots haven't resolved the issue. I installed 12.1 via iTunes upgrade from 12.0.1. I've not performed a DFU restore or new installation, yet. I had planned on a DFU installation as new with my devices. Anyone else having this problem?

Update: Well, it works on my MBP with macOS 10.14.1. Using Siri to "Play (Artist)" opens the music app and begins a compilation. Is it just broken for me on iOS or anyone else?

Follow-Up: I was able to resolve the bug by enabling Listen for "Hey Siri". Following the prompts and then restarting the devices. After this, then I used the "Hey Siri" feature and it worked by opening the Music app and playing the audio through the device or my BT speaker. I don't prefer the always-on "Hey Siri" feature. So, I turned off Listen for "Hey Siri", hoping that this would be back to normal with just using the Home button or my BT speaker's microphone. Restarted my devices after disabling it and now the feature works with Siri via the Home button or BT speaker's microphone.

When I get a call my Watch doesn’t show the name of the caller anymore. I only see the phone number. This happened after the newest updates. What can I do?

Anyone noticed the weather app animations are gone? I have not seen anything but a grey background for a while now. It does change from day to night but that’s about it. Not sure when it started.

Mine is animating. Getting rain now and the animation is reflecting this.

Mine is reflecting the rain as well.
Thanks guys. I just get a solid blue (daytime) or dark gray/black (nighttime) background. This is on an XR. Wifes XR seems to be the same. Just fired up my old 6s and it is working as expected. Wondering if there is something kooky with the XR's?

Is ‘Reduce Motion’ on (settings, general, accessibility)?

Every time I charge my SE and 7 apps running background always reload when I cut off the charge and start to use the device, for example WhatsApp is on background and working. After charging it runs from scratch ( white screen than app layout) is that new for iOS 12? Ram management or something else? Both my devices are dfu installed..

Nope, 1st thing I checked and toggled on then back off just in case.

[Edit] Deleted and reinstalled Weather app just for grins, no change. Reset all settings and no change. (yeah that was fun just to see if it would help.) Have only seen 2 XR's and both have same issue so leaning toward something going on with that model. I swear I didn't notice it not working in 12.0.1 so thinking 12.1 is what broke it.

[Edit 2] Turns out setting the view to zoom instead of standard causes this just like reduce motion. Arg!! Not sure why 'reset all settings' would have left that set as zoom though. I tried weather immediately after reset and before setting up everything again and it didn't work. Anyway case closed, apparently not a 12.1 issue :)

Anyone know if this version fixed the problem of not re-connecting to cellular network when getting out of wifi zone or re-emerging from a no-signal zone? I had to re-boot my X frequently when getting out of subway station or there won't be cellular data at all. I never had this problem before upgrade to iOS 12. 12.01 did not fix the problem.

I’ve been experiencing issues in the subway stations where my bars will go gray and can’t connect, but once I’m out onto the street, connects perfectly. I’m on Verizon.

Would someone with iPhone Xs or Xs Max at iOS 12.1 on Verizon wireless and no eSIM configured try something for me: can you find the roaming controls for voice only, voice+data, international CDMA?

I'm on 12.1.1 beta 1 and I can't find this setting. All I can find is the data roaming (for all plans it seems, when I have an eSIM loaded, even if turned off).

I'm researching some things for a future trip and need a way to disable all roaming on the VZW line/plan.

Still having the bug where I turn on an alarm and the alarm clock icon doesn’t show up in the status bar. Only fix is to reboot and then it works fine again temporarily. At least my LTE connectivity issue was fixed though.

Mine has never showed there. If I swipe down the CC you can clearly see the clock icon and the icon for my connected AirPods.
I never see those icons in the status bar. I never have. To me, this is how it has been always.

Terrible battery drain with iOS 12.1 on my Xs :-(

Hi. Please don’t take this the wrong way, but what are you trying to achieve with your post? If you’re trying to get help then you’ve told us absolutely nothing of any use. Or, are you just stating your opinion with regards to your phone? Have you reported it to Apple?

iPad Pro 10.5 stopped recognizing battery level on Apple pencil.

Was fine up to this point.
???

No, that’s not a correct answer. Charging is not affected by those settings at all.

Try to restart your phone and see if that solves the problem. If not, contact Apple.
