Whoooops!!!. Thanks
I must have hit it by accident. I've never engaged that before.

Did they fix the home button delay which they introduced in iOS 11? Just curious.
Will they ever fix this?![]()

MUST BE NICE.
I'd love a 2-3 second lag. I open the app store and it will be completely blank for near a minute on WiFi and LTE. It's awful. Apple Music as well. Any time I try to use the search in Apple Music nothing will load while on LTE, on WiFi it takes just as long as the App Store.
Also, automatic update for apps? HA. I've NEVER had any of my apps automatically update. I always end up with 10-20 updates whenever I decide to check for updates.
I've only had my Setting app lock up once or twice, but nothing too frustrating.
Automatic updates work though. Just like automatic OS updates they are heavily (and I MEAN HEAVILY) delayed as to not bombard the servers all at once. I think it can take up to a month for an app update to be downloaded automatically, but they do end up downloading automatically eventually.MUST BE NICE.

The fun thing is, I also had these issues on my old X which I gave away to a relative, who now has no such issues. Starting to think it could be bloat in iCloud backups that causes these lock ups... or I‘m simply retarded or use my phone too much.I don’t know why these problems persist from update to update. I still have the settings app freeze, even after doing a clean install. I thought iOS 12 was meant to get rid of glitches when they haven’t done the best job with that. I do have to give them credit for overall speed. They did a good job with that but all these little bugs remain unfixed.

Hey bud. Missed you.
I wish I could have experienced home button in 10.3 to make a comparison. As of yet, all I know is it works fast enough.

That being said I was hoping there‘d be a shortcut option for checking / downloading updates. Been wanting to add a „good morning“ shortcut that disables my alarm for that day and does the routine I always do when I get up (mainly check updates, preload/load mails from accounts that support no push, read me a digest of the first handful of meetings for that day and so on).

While I can't comment on auto updating apps (I like to read patch notes), I've been experiencing a lag in refreshing the App Store, ie when I go to Updates, it just sits there for a good while. Sometimes, it says the App Store can't be reached. I just assumed it was network congestion.
Additionally, sometimes Twitter will lock up. I assumed this was Twitter specific.
Judging by posts like yours, I don't think this is the case anymore. So 12.2 is definitely not ready for primetime.
Honestly, iOS 12 is just bad. It's introduced more problems for me than it's fixed.
What's a home button?Did they fix the home button delay which they introduced in iOS 11? Just curious.
Anyone else notice in iOS 12.2 B5 that the speaker layout for AirPlay 2 for Apple TV is supposed to be the 2 touch buttons for decreasing and increasing volume....I don’t have that...didn’t have it in B4 and I don’t have it in B5. All I have is a grayed out volume bar. Anyone else have this experience and if so anyone know how to fix it? I should disclose that I’m also on Apple TV Beta so perhaps their just being betas and being buggy but I thought I would ask. Thanks.
...a month? That's kinda insane. Maybe that's why I've never seen auto app updates. It seems pointless to have apps automatically update if you need to wait around a month for them to do so. Especially when you're waiting for things like security patches, X/XS/XS Max comparability, new features, etc.

To be honest I think i've had more problems in the actual release versions of iOS 12 than i've had in any others so far. Automatic hotspot connect between iPhone and iPad never work, AirDrop takes almost 30 seconds before finding any of my other devices, my text tones that i've purchased do not work (senior Apple Engineers only told me "this is a known issue and will be addressed in a future update"), my iPad Pro 11" dock never rotates properly with the rest of the screen, Apple apps seem to constantly open to a blank page for several seconds before loading an interface....it's just been a pretty bad ride so far.
I'm really hoping they do a really good revamp in iOS 13 because the S10+ is very very tempting right now. If they had the Green one in the US I would have already switched. lol

I actually only jumped into the 12.2 beta a little over a week ago. I waited for most of the issues to be ironed out (I use Apple Pay a lot and didn't want to risk those issues that were present). The problems i've had have been present on all iOS 12 on beta and release versions. For me, anyways. I've even had my XS Max replaced by Apple twice now and have done numerous restore from backups and set up as a new device as Apple Engineers tried to troubleshoot multiple problems.
Honestly, iOS 12 is just bad. It's introduced more problems for me than it's fixed.
XS Max is a joke of Apple .. iOS 12 on older devices is smooth as butter , no lag ... literally nothing , maybe some small hiccups.. Xs and Xs max lagging , stuttering, dropping WiFi and LTE , lots of frame drops , videos are choppiness .. it looks like Xs series cannot handle iOS 12 ... it’s like my Xs max is always in low power mode ...
all good here on my XS. have you rebooted? maybe reinstall? or maybe time to get off the beta program, if you're having these issues. (just a suggestion).
Well I get where they are coming from. It‘d be fatal to push an app update out to potentially 1bil+ iOS devices at the same time. I do think it‘s a bit overkill to have auto updates be staggered for THAT long and it could hinder app devs by not allowing them to fix crucial bugs, cause people refuse to update or simply don‘t know how. That being said I don‘t know how else they could do it. They could offer a way to flag updates as critical so they get pushed asap, but I‘d wager most devs would abuse the system to get all of their updates out asap....a month? That's kinda insane. Maybe that's why I've never seen auto app updates. It seems pointless to have apps automatically update if you need to wait around a month for them to do so.
