even when it’s just a beta.
Just using this comment as a launch point...

Given that iOS 12’s main ‘feature’ is improved performance, it would be inconceivable to me that they wouldn’t have achieved this by the time it reached beta. It would be considered a failure, an empty promise, if they hadn’t. In other more feature packed releases, it’s reasonable to believe that the beta period might be used to refine performance after a relatively carefree period of packing in features. But in iOS 12 it just wouldn’t make sense that we wouldn’t see the improvements they announced.

Besides, has there ever been a time when a major release’s betas were slower than the previous major version and wasn’t also slower in its GM form? Really? I feel like this idea betas are just slower just cos they’re betas really needs to be examined.

P.S. it’s feeling very nice on my iPhone 8.

As far as I know, when you install a beta, a service for buglogging will be installed and logs and logs and logs. This results in negative impact on performance overall.

I could be totally wrong but I‘m sure I have read about this.

I’m sure it’s true but I don’t think it’s significant or has explained much in the past. For example it didn’t explain many apps opening more slowly in iOS 11 betas compared to 10.3.3 because it was also slower in GM

I beg to differ...

Still shows TOM TOM maps

They didn’t change that screen because only the Bay Area uses Apple data right now, seemlessly spliced in.

Has anyone found that you can’t interact with web pages in the area just above the keyboard?

To give an example, if I line up the Post Reply button as shown in my attached pic, nothing happens when I tap it, but if I scroll it up a bit it’s fine.

I think it can be significant sometimes. I think that’s one of the reasons for devices overheating, worse battery performance and etc.

iOS 12 Beta 3 seems to be more unstable than Beta 2 on my iPhone X.

I guess no pb on the 4th
First PB came out nearly a week after DB2. Us PB’ers will probably have to wait a few more days.

But is that so bad? The developers get a few days to find out what works and what’s broken, so we can make a more informed choice about whether to dive in.

I finally got my screentime working, but how come after a certain time it will not fetch data? Any ideas?

How did you get your screen time worrking again, mine still crashes like hell

i just turned it off and on... and does screen time fetch datas only when you are on WiFi?

so weird... how do screen time actually fetch datas? the last update I got was 6:02am and until now no data is available (its 2:56pm over here)

Updates page in appstore is buggy. White page every time I try to fetch new updates, and suddendly, without a precise workflow, the page show the updates.

I got my screen time working with clean iTunes install, no backup restored. Lots of work, but now it really works.
