May I suggest that you continue this discussion in a new thread so the rest of us can keep our focus on what THIS thread is supposed to be all about? Thank you.

I don’t see why we are happy for people to say that their iPhone X or 8 is as smooth as silk on iOS 12 but vilify people who say their iPhone 5s runs like a three legged donkey.

Surely the purpose of this thread is to honestly report on our experiences. But I agree that it is time to move on.

By the way on iOS 12 beta 6 my iPhone 6s+ is the best it has been since it was running iOS 9.

What about erasing content and settings and then restoring from backup? (I guess the question is: do the logs get backed up?)
[doublepost=1533757381][/doublepost]
But they broke from the normal pattern of dropping a generation, so if it's true it performs badly, that seems kind of wrong? They could have just dropped it?
No logs are not backed up.

Does anyone know how to figure out which one of the three new wallpapers in the Home app that is the default one?

Anyone else have the "unable to connect to account" error in Calendar.app?

Open Calendar.app, tap the "Calendars" button bottom middle, under my iCloud calendars there's a note that says "unable to connect to account". It no longer appears to be syncing calendar data. Apparently, Apple broke their own app with the latest iOS 12 beta.

It appears 3rd party calendar apps that have been updated still sync up/down to iCloud.

No issues here. Syncing fine.

No calendar syncing issues here either. I'm using iCloud, Exchange, Outlook and one subscribed calendar.
You should be able to see which account isn't syncing and try re-entering your credentials.

If I were you I'd quit the beta, go back to 11.x if that worked better for ya. Don't upgrade to it when the GM is released. Or alternately upgrade your device to a newer model. Or move to Android, the Pixel2's are running smooth and fast as all heck on "P".
I doubt the GM will help much if any. Iphone 5's are to outdated. However maybe a completely fresh install would help, maybe try that when the GM drops.
I have an idea upgrade your phone!!! You have an old has phone!!!

Is anyone else having issues with Bluetooth? The service keeps crashing when it connects to my car, a 2009 BMW 335i with iDrive. When it’s connected to my Apple Watch it’s fine though... I’ve ruled out the car since other devices on iOS 11 connect just fine.

Siri on CarPlay does not use pronunciation definitions from General->Accessibility->Speech->Pronunciations when announcing names for text sent or received.
Siri on iPhone pronounces names correctly.

I found a neat trick to keep T-Mobile WiFi Calling on continuous despite full cellular coverage.

Steps:
  1. Navigate to Settings>General>Date & Time
  2. Toggle off “Set Automatically” and manually select the correct city you’re current in and wait a few seconds for signal bar to adjust. (I also have the current city in Clock app as the only World Clock)
  3. Toggle on “Set Automatically” and wait till signal bar to adjust and T-Mobile WiFi will stay on with full cellular coverage
Edit: Nvm WiFi Calling deactivate itself after an hour

Hello, I have iOS 12 beta 5 when I tried to update to beta 6 the update page stuck on request update since the release of beta 6
I tried hard restart, remove profile, update via iTunes (when I try to update it says requires new version of iTunes which I already have). Any idea ?

Iphone X bluetooth issue reported via feedback app, disconnects from my Microsoft Sync in my car, this never happened on previous iOS 12 betas

Very interesting, how each beta seems more buggy than the previous, at least to the average user. I have even given up for now, after a good run on the first few betas.

Obviously Apple isn’t slacking or taking a month off, so their focus must be somewhere else, not as visible to us.

This project of iOS 12 being all about speed and improvement, certainly has got my attention :)

the issue is pretty obvious.
you have a pair of giant hands inside your stereo turning Bluetooth off.

My btooth on my X also randomly stops playing music in my car too. Not suing Sync just normal playback. Hope they fix it soon :)

Are you using latest idrive update?

Why is the Public Beta always behind the developers? Today Beta 6 was released, I was prompted to download Beta 5. Why is that ? Thanks

Because the first-ever beta is seeded to the developers only. The public beta testers are allowed in at a later date, so the second developers beta becomes the first public one. Technically there is no difference, though, just a different numbering scheme.
