All speculation...usually beta releases are once every 2 weeks until it gets close to release then it gets to once a week when it’s closer to release. Releases have been Tuesday’s up until this past week it was Monday, if the release of beta 4 wasn’t Monday I’m sure everyone would think it would be released Tuesday because of the history. Some people were thinking there would be two betas released this week because two betas were released in a week closer to the 12.0 release, but that was just because of a huge bug in the beta, I don’t even remember what it was I just remember thinking “they better fix this thing fast it’s pissing me off”. I’m just making guesses off loading the developer betas on my phone the last 5 years or so...next thing will be a beta they will put out as the gm a couple days after.

Release notes of 12.0 GM vs 12.1 Beta 4...I’d say there’s a decent trend looking at the bugs in every beta release note. Crap the notes for 12.0 GM is like 8 pages long of known bugs.
Because release notes notate every single change? Your argument is silly. So only visible changes and changes that are notated in release notes are fixed and that is the indication of whether or not there are more bugs to be fixed in the current version? There are dozens of bugs that were fixed in 12.0 beta cycle that were never listed in release notes.

My reasoning is the number of bugs listed should still be decently proportional to the bugs that aren’t listed...but if the GM doesn’t drop end of next week/beginning of the week after guess I’m wrong ‍♂️

But that argument is flawed. The release notes for 12.1 do not mention activity being broken. But Apple has their own support article saying it is.

Because if 12.1 is not ready? Pretty good reason why to wait.

The biggest revision change for this revision is making the bagel emoji look better to please New Yorkers....you really think there’s much left to fix?

The person I quoted was implying there is nothing left to fix

Yes. However, he quoted you saying that the main reason to not release 12.1 on event day was because it wasn't ready which I don't think is correct at all.

Apple schedules there events weeks if not months in advance and I'd be willing to bet that they also have a firm release window for 12.1 set long before they begin working on it. This implies that they do not delay the release of an iOS version from the event/announcement because they're still working on it, but rather some other reason. Likely this reason is to give developers a chance with the final build before the public gains access.

The release of any software is flawed, there’s always going to be a section of code that can be optimized better or something that doesn’t work right, the point is looking at the decrease in the things they do list do you think it’s good enough to push out as a final release.

iOS 10.1 came out October 24 and they had an event on the 26th

Chance 12.1 could be out before the event too. Depends on when it is ready.

Most of the hardware leaks come from looking within iOS. I don’t see Apple releasing iOS 12.1 before the iPad keynote.

But Again someone was saying the Xr in one of the reviews was loaded with 12.1 so that means betA 4 might have been the GM n we’ll be seeing public release soon possibly today.
Didn’t iOS 12 break release schedule n come out on monday instead of their usual Wednesday release

I’m waiting 12.1 mostly because of cellular issues. Every other call is a call failed

i kinda doubt the iphone xr is running 12.1 they could have been using a beta version, the reviewer. im expecting beta 5 this week and public release the following week.

Exactly why would you doubt that its running 12.1? I seriously doubt a reviewer would install beta software on a review unit. Could completely change the experience they are reviewing.

Beta 5 or GM today ??
There are no GM's for anything other than the major "XX" releases. But I do think we'll see beta 5 today. It might even be the "production" version (but we won't know that until that is released and is the same build number as the beta).

What’s beta 4 like as a daily driver? I’ve held off but starting to get itchy feet??

Thanks in advance
